It doesn't look much better than the end of Jose's reign. You handpicked a select few signings and then listed the absolute worse players still on our books and asked if I'd want to swap them. The fact those shit players are still contracted to the club is on Ole. His squad building has been average at best.

We don't have to pretend he's done some excellent job at building a squad when there's a very good chance in 12 months a lot of his signings won't be in the first team.
I picked the players he let go off and included the players he signed. I’ll ask one more time, who did he let go of that was a downgrade on who he brought in? If you don’t have an answer don’t respond.

Yeah it’ll be fantastic. I can imagine some ‘supporters’ on here actually getting annoyed when people chant his name the next time we play at OT.
I highly doubt anyone will get annoyed, aside from a few irrelevant Twitter idiots.

The guy has gone from baby-faced assassin to the oldest, white haired, wrinkly bag of skin in the space of 3 years trying to haul this club forward. Have a little respect you cretins.

It was Ole's choice to speak, not the clubs.

Transcript: "Ole, this is a sad day for a lot of people who admire you, but you’ve chosen to speak…"

Let this be a lesson to never appoint another club legend ever again.
I agree. But this is the board's wet dream, to have a United legend here for decades. It is just not the reality and leads to nothing but broken hearts for the majority of our fanbase.

I would literally slap the piss out of some of the disrespectful posters I’ve seen on here. I would take off my glove, slap you across the face with it in front of your family and mates, and challenge you to a duel in the street if you dared to talk that shite in public and in person. I feel sickened and sad for these heartless bastards for whom society, the educational system, and your parents and family have obviously failed you.
Steven Segal has a caf account!

With all due respect just relax man. Forums are like this. It is what it is.

But he's also exacerbated the issues. Namely, the squad is more top heavy than ever. It was top heavy before, but we have so much attacking talent (of which most can't play on any given occasion) and so little in terms of central midfield talent (of which there isn't enough to even field a balance midfield with).

Individually, yes, he's brought in some top talent, but taken as a balance, as a whole, we're just as imbalanced as we was before.
You can't really describe a squad that regularly resulted in combinations of Sanchez, Mata, Lingard and Fellaini in the front 4 as Top Heavy.

Shit heavy maybe.

This is what it's about with United. Class.

The caf can say what it wants, he gave us optimism and confidence previous regimes took away. Always a legend.
Over the past few months I've realised, the majority of the Caf is nothing but a sad collection of wannabe smart-asses who think they understand what this club is about. Who maybe seek validation through the team they "support" and lash out when they don't get what they want.

Thankfully, the Utd fans I know in person and the fans at OT are people who actually represent our fanbase, people who understand that Man Utd is more than just trophies or on field success, it's about a sense of belonging and being there for your family.

he always be a legend for me on the grounds that no one had heard of him when he came - the world knows him now. but he was never the right man for the manager's job

What is going on in this thread? Most people being critical of this interview are being critical of the board for doing it, not Ole for doing it. Why are you all being such wankers and trying to make it something it’s not? People are allowed to think something this unconventional is a bit strange without it meaning they hate Ole for feck sake. Cop on.

Love the guy, can't see how anyone could think otherwise. He did his absolute best for the club and just wasn't good enough. That's fine, very few will be. As others have said, it isn't his fault the club kept him on for far too long.

He injected some hope, some pride after that fecking scumbag Mourinho was allowed to treat the club like dirt. He's also left us with a greatly improved squad. I mean, I've seen people argue otherwise but that's just nonsense. This squad is in great shape to challenge at the very top.

I'm glad to see him go for both his and the clubs sake. Let's hope we bring in a positive, talented manager who can get us where we need - and this squad requires - to be, and he finds a job which suits his level (Europa league sort of side at a smaller league would be a nice fit I reckon).

That question doesn't prove he's built a good squad. Just because it's slightly less shit than his predecessors doesn't make it good. The fact your trying to shut down this down by setting arbitrary reasons suggest deep down you know I'm right.

So he has made some friends... well done. Now let's have someone who wants to win trophies and not friends
What, like a Jose Mourinho/Louis Van Gaal type? Theres much more wrong here than a manager

Good guy, average manager. Got to live his dream for years, was paid handsomely and will likely get a better managerial appointment now his previous premier league club was manchester united

It’s true though, look at the state of the responses in here. Toxic as feck. Almost as if people see Ole as a “manager” and not as a human being.
You've never shouted abuse at an opposition player or manager? They're human beings, too.

Why would anyone have an issue with this? Why are we slating the club for this?
Yeah, weird reactions. Think both Ole and the club came off well here. Seems like just because it's unorthodox it's automatically stupid to some people.

Classy from Solskjaer.

The same can't be said about a large portion of our fan base apparently.

The fact that he done that interview shows how much he loves this club and it's fans. Some of you need to give your head a wobble.

Fair play for that interview, must have been very difficult for him. Genuinely wish the guy the very best and absolutely still love him for everything he’s done for this club.

It’s a good opportunity to show their xenophobic side, it's something that has been going on the caf for a while now.

I'd expect United fans to watch that interview and feel sympathy for a legend who is clearly broken up by failing to achieve enough.

The fact that some of you, having got what you wanted for so long, are still so mean-spirited makes you look like a seriously toxic bunch.
Well said mate and agree 100%. A sorry state of affairs reading many comments in this thread/forum

i agree. We have gone from players who were shit no matter what like Darmian, Rojo, Sanchez, Fellaini etc, to players who are objectively shit in the eyes of the caf - eg AWB is shit basically because he isn't a clone of Trent AA. Harry Maguire is shit because of his price tag and because hes been hung out to dry by our tactics and isnt a clone of VVD. Ronaldo hinders us because he doesn't press like Firmino.

Too many of our fans want to compare everything managerial to Pep and Klopp and all of our players to players at other clubs. Its really odd.

Ignore his words, and just watch his body language...

His arm gestures are basically indicating to the interviewer/camera people/the production, to actually end the interview.

Quite shameful of Utd to put him through that. A worded statement from Ole would have been much better for all involved.

Probably the same insecure people who call us Banter FC and the like.

Whatever. If he wants to speak and say goodbye through the official club channel rather than through Abu Dhabi TV, why the feck not?

Why would anyone deny him that?
Maybe it’s all too fresh for me. I dunno, I can’t watch the man in bits. It’s all a bit shit that it didn’t work out with him really and a farewell interview on the day he got sacked doesn’t sit well with me.

His body language is actually communicating the recipe to a nice dumpling stew.

Wow, that interview was heartbreaking. Ole is a class act and loves the club. He can look at past 3 years with pride. Yes, it was disaster last 2 months, but finished 3rd and 2nd last 2 seasons, that's as good finishes as we've had last 8 and a half years.

Classy guy and a club legend. Doing this interview shows how much he cares and puts club and fans before his ego. No toxic atmosphere from 3 years ago, as much as it got bad lately.
