I've heard a few things about how to club monitors and studies social media analytics in order to gauge supporter feeling - surely they can see the overwhelming majority want to see the club make a move for ten Hag?

This isn't a dig at Poch, but it seems with the vast majority wanting ETH - it seems a relatively easy way to buy a large amount of goodwill with the fans if they follow their own data.

I've never bashed him for lack of success, i mention that you can't truly be top calibre with zero trophies, I'm not sure winning Ligue 1 means much more than Gerrard 's Scottish league winners medal but whatever.

The point that stands is him wanting to get out of PSG is a bigger factor than wanting to come here, I think had Spurs wanted him back he'd have jumped out of PSG to go there as well. This is the key factor, of course the managers of well run clubs aren't going to want to jump mid season, that's why an interim makes sense, then we might be able to get a manager next summer who can progeess us, as opposed to another identity free water treader who's ceiling is top 4 in the PL.

The outcome is the evidence. That and the clear pattern against paying top whack to buy players at their peak - even when you desperately need them. Sancho and Ronaldo were just nice to haves compared to a functioning midfield. That's not hindsight - everyone with half a brain was saying it at the time.

I was watching the goals from yesterday back there and the same thought struck me.

Martial for example, has been dialling it in under 3 different managers and will get the chance to let down another one now.

Where to starty? First the expectations themselves are ridiculous. Without a CL win it's a failed season. Second, the club as per its former managers and even Poch is a circus. Third, you have to deal with prima donnas that are obviously there only for the money. Of course, we're not that dissimilar in that regard, but PSG are on another level. I think Poch sees United as more of a long term thing than having to suffer through Leonardo before getting the sack anyway because he didn't win the CL.

Honestly the reaction of some our fans, sticking their noses up at Conte and now Pochettino is pretty embarrassing. The sort of mentality that deserves Ole.

During his time at Spurs he was as good as anyone in European football - That is not an exaggeration. People really don't appreciate how much he overachieved.

The net spend was higher at fecking Stoke. Poch himself had a higher net spend at Southampton, at least he did before the final window. Six clubs consistently spent significantly more than they did and yet he built a team almost from scratch that could mix with all of them. Go look at the line-up from his first game in charge if you need some perspective on that.

He transformed a basket case of a club into a solidified CL team. Ues things got stale towards the at the end and having eyes on the Utd job probably contributed to that but the work he did there was incredible.

He’s an excellent manager and even more he’s wanted to come here for years. The fact that he’s willing to walk away from a CL contender speaks volumes to how he views this job. He obviously sees something here that he thinks will work. The board need to do whatever it takes to get him in ASAP.

Can't someone on utd twitter or whatever do a poll so it's easier for them to see. Also we could make bold head type masks for the match going fans to wear. Similar to the klopp ones our fans wore before Disney land gate.

We fecked up with Conte, if we feck up with Poch who is apparently readily available now, this would an unmitigated disaster. We can't waste this entire season waiting for the opportunity (not even the guarantee) of signing Ten Hag who will be quite the risk himself. What if Ten Hag fails here anyway? That will be two wasted seasons. If Poch fails, we can look for another manager afterwards no problem. But we have to be proactive. This club should start acting as a club rather than a business joke.

I don't understand why people are unhappy with Poch to Utd rumors. I always felt Spurs with Pochettino were a very good side. I Remember in the last season of SAF, Poch with Southampton was the toughest match we played at OT. We won 1-0 though, but it was clear that his tactics and pressing was too much for us, they played round and circles against us all game, and the relentless pressing was unheard of at that time, which resulted in us being played off the park.

I remember thinking the victory was a floodlight robbery, and we need to have this kind of manager when SAF moves on, with high pressing and short passing. His Spurs side was again great to watch and scored plenty of goals. Plus with Spurs he always had a nearly side, with solid defense and great attack and poor midfield and he hardly spent much during his time there.

I would be excited with this appointment and above all, the prospect of him joining in a week, where realistically we still have Champions league, Fa cup and 26 league fixtures is too good to turn down.

They are not going to change the coaching staff for a Interim manager and then change the coaching staff again for the actual manager at the end of the season.
