Dare I say we need to slow down?

We're playing too eager and too vertical. We should hold onto the ball and make Norwich move around the pitch more. Need more one-twos and let Sancho/Rashford take on players in 1 vs 1 situations.

    Should change to a 4-3-3.

Rashford does have to come off for Greenwood though.

He's offered nothing but poor control and cowardly backpasses for 45 minutes.

Liverpool players are better than ours. They lose it occasionally and sprint for the team to get it back. Ours lose it constantly and jog back  :nervous:

No players that can beat a man, no midfielders with intelligence and technique.

A very poorly put together team.

    Less talent than everyone thinks.

I thought they were throwing stuff at Bruno first. Jeez the ref is now listening to the home crowd! That boads well for rest of the game. Been OK need more control of the game patience is needed no need to look for the hollywood pass. Keep the ball move them around a bit more . Chances will come I think . Been sporadic in the first half

    1st half ratings

    DDG 6

    Dalot 5
    Maguire 6
    Lindelof 6
    Telles 6

    Fred 6
    McTom 6.5
    Bruno 5

    Rashford 4
    Ronaldo 5
    Sancho 6

    Bad.
Largely agree but I think Sancho's been 6.5 and Rashford, Ronaldo and Bruno should be lower.

Your Dalot rating is definitely wrong. Most threat came from him.

Does anyone think our attack is suffering also because of the new system and players getting used to it? Also doesn't help Marcus and Bruno being out of form.

    He’s an MBE.
He can be the King of England I would still hammer him with that shitshow. He need to focus on the pitch and drop all that outside endeavours unless he wants to end up in Everton or West Ham

Lethargic half. Team seems to have ran out of steam. Way too slow to affect Norwich. Sancho seems the only one in attack who can pass properly. Rashford the worst of the other three forwards, who have all been bad, needs to come off now. Hopefully we create more chances as Norwich tire out.

Norwich keeper the busier but a huffing and puffing half of football from United.

Recent record against newly promoted sides is woeful and need to improve a lot 2nd half to put that run to a end.

People being really negative. You can see so much improvement in our overall play and shape. Energy better, pressing better. Forward progression of the ball better. The two forwards, Ronaldo and Rashford, have been really off colour so far, which is where it’s all breaking down.

I think some patience and realism is required. So much negativity in here. Gets really boring. The endless slating of players as being fundamentally crap, or finished…..I just wonder whether some people have any attention span at all. Form and confidence aren’t just an on/off switch.
They would have been fair comments during the Palace game, but that was a poor half. The pressing isn't all that, the passing forward has been better from the likes of McTominay but we're losing it far too often. The shape has been an issue, Norwich are happy to switch play and get joy down the side of our narrow formation.

Rashford isn't finished, I agree, but he's been very poor this half.

Putrid, putrid stuff. So weak in possesion. That's what happens when you have weak technical players

How the hell are we still in the lofty position of 7th ?
Basement level performances should put us down where Norwich are.

Also getting to be a parody the number of times you see Bruno and Ronaldo flapping like chickens trying to get people to calm down, only to then stuff up their first touch and kick it straight to Norwich.

Tim Krul lives for games like these. Feel like even if we up our game he’s gonna be on it.

On a positive note, McT is playing quite well. Some nice interceptions and passes.
Yeah, our best player by a mile.

Maguire looks a bit more like himself today, similar to how he was against Palace last week. Hopefully he's returning to form.

Rashford has been really poor, and looks like he can't really be bothered.

Telles has been poor and given then opportunities down our left.

As for the rest, a bit meh, disappointed at the lack of intensity, doesn't feel much different to watching us under Ole this season.

I hope Erik ten Hag isn’t watching, and even if he is, please nobody tell him that we are playing the absolute worst team in the PL with a -23 GD.

Rashford and Ronaldo in pair is never going to work. Actually think Martial would look far better playing off Ronaldo as he's able to play those one-two's and he's way better at keeping the ball at his feet.

McTominay was our best player on the pitch by a wide margin. Rashford is dire and the entire squad looks spent after having been rested in full midweek.

We look disjointed as hell and I dread seeing Maguire playing Hollywood passes across the pitch that end up just giving the ball away.

This is not the type of forward pressing football I'd have expected to see at least glimpses of today. Early days and whatnot but I'm not happy with any of that.

No one is making runs as a result of which it gets condensed and rashford or bruno give the ball away trying some fancy pass.

If Ralf is reading game correctly Rashford should be replaced before 60th minute. Same with Bruno.

Greenwood on at half time, kick the LOT of them up the arse Ralf, get Scott off.

If these players don’t show 100% effort in this second half I’m going to implode.

More balls into the attacking midfielders on the half turn. Win the ball and move it quickly and we will win.

Bruno looking out of place in a team trying to play fluidly and not direct? Who would have guessed it?
