Martial can't go just yet. With Cavani leaving and Lingard, Pogba due to leave in June, it makes more sense to keep Martial a little while longer.
Why?

As for senior players we have Rashford, Ronaldo and Greenwood. We have Mata as well but we can skip him. More importantly we have Dejbri, Elanga, Amad, and Shola are all gunning for playing time.

Why should we deny hungry young players time?

Fake. Martial's transfer involve transfer fee.

Those players can't be compared with Martial.

Update

This sounds like complete bullshit.
"Have not started negotiating" but Marca knows United's demands?

Also isn't "half his salary" basically his entire salary given that we're talking about half a season?

What's the point of a loan if the club getting the player don't pay a penny ?

Just fecking pay up.

I hate clubs ripping us off when we try to buy, and then pleading all sorts of poverty when we try to sell. Ridiculous.

If we get 5M from Sevilla and a 50% chance (making up odds but follow me here) he plays well enough to add 10M to his fee and the alternative is him playing 500 minutes the rest of the season instead of Elanga, Amad or VDB (with Bruno or Sancho up top instead) then it's not really much of a question.

Sevilla just want a quick shirt boost, free players, paying 0 wages, and then send him home in june.

We shouldn’t entertain a loan unless Martial takes a pay cut to make loan or full transfer happen. If he so genuinely wants to play then take a market based salary that Seville or any other club is Willy to pay and be a starter.

I mean sure, but also their only LW is a 33 year old Papu Gomez so they might want the option of someone who can run a bit out there, and they're a Real Madrid covid catastrophe away from their first La Liga win since 1946, so might also want him for footballing reasons.

We should only consider a loan if there is a set in stone obligation to sign clause built into it.

Giving another team a £200k a week player for free for six months would be utterly bonkers.

How about Christopher Nkunku From RB Leipzig as a replacement for him ?

Pretty good player but I don't think he can play as a striker but just as an AM and in the wings like Jadon.

His market value by transfermarkt.com is 55m euro's and his contract until 2024

He has 7G and 7A in 17 appearances in the BundesLiga and 7G and 2A in 6 appearances in the CL

Looks like Martial has confirmed his agents comments to Ralf now. Hopefully Sevilla stop fecking around and come in with a decent offer (loan or otherwise) and we can get him off the books.

The English press said he had no chance.
50 million down the drain.

Hopefully, we can get a decent fee and fully offload his wages. He wasn't going to be of much importance going forward this season anyway.

Wants to leave but will find it hard to due to his ridiculous wages not matching his inconsistent output.

Another player we will probably have to loan out and pay towards his wages no doubt.

He should be embarrassed really, been here 7 years and he still finds himself behind a 36 year old Ronaldo, a 34 year old Cavani, a Rashford bang out of form, a Sancho still yet to find any form, a youth prospect who’s had Covid and has played less than two seasons at top flight and now a kid who’s just turned 19 and barely played any first team football.

On top of all that United are STILL in the market for another forward, which shows you exactly what the club think of him.

Good, the club needs a mini clear out of all the passengers in the squad. Lingard, Pogba, and Mata should follow. We’re such a top heavy squad and having these players on a bloated salary making little to no impact shows the club’s past incompetence. Pogba shouldve been sold last summer with Lingard. Hopefully Rangnick can help bring a sense of savviness and intelligence to our overall approach instead of always targeting the big names. Start with Haidara this winter and carry it on into the summer.

100% this. He’s been overtaken by Mason, Rashford and Elanga too. He’s done as a United player. Trim the fat out of this bloated squad.
