There is so much hatred for this guy. You can’t score as many goals in the game as he has and be “shit”. It’s just not possible.

Teams pay a premium because he scores goals. In football, you guarantee Champions’ League football, and even title challenges, by making sure you beat the lesser teams, and he guarantees goals in those games. It’s that simple.

People need to stop comparing players numbers with outliers like Ronaldo and Messi. His are seriously impressive.

It didn’t work out for him here, but who has it really worked out for in the last 6-7 years?

Meanwhile it’s Rashford’s sixth season at United and he never scored close to 20 goals in the league and he never will.
Well, he scored 17 league goals in 2019-20, which is close to 20. But that was one season and he certainly hasn't improved upon it since.

I've come to terms with the fact that Rashford is a slightly better Welbeck.

Its about perceptions, yeah hes very decent but the guy fancies himself among the likes of Ronaldo and Lewandowski while his level is much more closer to the likes of adebayor than he'll be to those guys

Also don't forget he is premier leagues most expensive ever transfer for gods , of course he will get shit for it with that kinda of money and expectations just being decent won't cut it , you're supposed to be world class and frankly he ain't

I saw few saying "Interview was given 3 weeks ago/last month", how does that change anything? The moment he isn't give starting position by default, he moans and cries about it.
Because 3 weeks ago he was injured and the word "system" was badly translated on purpose in relation to his conditioning, not the tactics as Romano is making it out to be.

Forget Romano's tweet (I agree that he made it sound like it's about tactics), the moment he wasn't allowed to walk straight back into 11 he moaned about it. Tuchel also spoke about this, that irrespective of when the interview was recorded, this is unnecessary noise.

Looks like Tuchel was asked about this today.

Tuchel on Romelu Lukaku sentences: "Let's be honest - I don't like it because it brings noise we don't need. It's easy to take lines out of context - of course I don't like it, it's noise we don't need and it does not help".
Thomas Tuchel: "We will talk with Lukaku openly behind closed doors. I am surprised because I don't see him unhappy - the opposite". #CFC "We here can take the time to try to understand what is going on with Romelu, it does not reflect the daily attitude".
Tuchel on Lukaku words again: "It would've been loud anyway [regardless of timing of comments]. If you're such a big player like Romelu is... he surely knows what kind of value it has when he speaks out".

It’s a good job Tuchel is such a good man manager and known for his easy going nature and will handle this situation very well indeed ............

What is wrong with Tuchel’s man management? By all accounts this has been a strength of his.

His conflict has often come with the senior management and club officials.

Never has a player had such a huge chip on their shoulder.

Still got to laugh at the people giving Ole and the club pelters for letting him leave. His time at Chelsea is only confirming what the rest of us knew anyway: he’s a big baby who throws a wobbler at the first sign of trouble.

Lukaku complaing and moaning - what a surprise. I'd have thought he'd let it be till the end of the season though.

There is a world of difference between unnecessary noise and the 'I'm not happy at Chelsea, shots fired at Tuchel' stuff we thought he said initially via Romano's sensationalism. One is forgotten by the next game, the other is a problem that could rumble on the rest of the season.

I'm a bit surprised by Tuchel's reaction because I always assumed clubs had to green light players giving interviews, and would have at least been aware ahead of time that he was doing this, and the contents of it before it came out yesterday. This could still be the case, but Tuchel makes it seem like he had no idea about the things Lukaku said until he read it like the rest of us.

What a terrible character - surely at some point you should look at yourself and wonder if you're the problem?

What a disrespectful thing to say...especially towards a manager who won CL and the super cup without him. If he really thinks that chelsea will back him over Tuchel then he is delusional.
And as an Inter fan trust me everyone here was hurt by the way he left yesterday we were even listing players who betrayed us and are utterly hated now he is on top of that very list. We certainly dont want him back.
What way did he leave Inter?

Agree his statistics and goals are valuable, this is why he has been at top clubs so often. I keep hearign a lot of pundits sayng how he is now not the player we had and has stepped up and is the real deal now, I still dont see it personally.

Despite his stats, excellent movement and power in the air.....I still dont see the hype as an elite centre forwad though. The touch is still not there, back to goal he is often battling to keep possession even when not tightly marked, he still doesnt seem lethal finishing to me often missign big chances in big games and of course we have the huge ego and selfishness which only befits a world star and for me he isnt.

Dont think people will be talking about Lukaku much in 15years when we look back on great players from this period in all honesty, though your sentiment on his record is a fair comment

Yeah, this could have been easily avoided. You don't have to tell the press how you feel every min.

Also looks like Lukaku had discussion with Tuchel on the tactical side and he said that to media, now it's easy to add 2+2 and come up with 5, which media loves to do.

Why did they sign him for such a massive fee if he was only going to be a bit part player?

Lukaku is such a massive weirdo
This. I would build my weirdo XI around him, Balotelli and Yaya Touré. Would be great to watch on the field one week and then the next it would be great to watch them sulk at each other because Balotelli launched Lukaku's shoes into orbit with a firework. Ederson or Barthez might be the GK, maybe Eboue at RB, Gerrard CM, Heinze or Evra LB, Gallas and Materazzi CB, Giggs LW, Zidane on the right?

This interview was strictly about Inter and for Inter fans, with a throwaway line about Chelsea being sensationalised to high heavens.

Yeah Lukaku said after the Villa game he had a couple of chats with Tuchel about how to best utilise him in the interest of clarity. Even that was sensationalised by twitter journo's who framed it as 'Lukaku is DEMANDING clarity for Tuchel'.

Did Tuchel take in that way? I didn't watch his PC but reading on twitter, he wasn't happy with what Lukaku said.

Seems you’re over rationalising his interview to be honest.

Still the honeymoon period...but when the pressure ramps up...and discontent rears it’s head he has form. Lukaku wont be there long imo.

I saw it on twitter, didn't watch. I think this is what Tuchel meant, unnecessary noise. Media will be looking for anything to sensationalize the news/interviews.

There’s more to this interview that’s even worse if this account isn’t trolling?
https://mobile.twitter.com/FNerazzurra1908

Lukaku: "I miss Lautaro. For Lauti, I could die for him on the pitch. Together at Chelsea? No, no, stay at Inter because I will be back. Playing with Lautaro to me was the best. From day one, I understood that we can do great things. There was natural understanding between us."

In what way? I thought it was terrible initially, now I think it's less bad.
Lukaku:
Inter have top directors but their fans are truly the best in the world. It hurt me that Inter said no to my extension, I would have stayed 100%. I watch all their matches. All of them. It is really like that when Inter touch you

Tuchel is concerned about the unnecessary noise, but his general take is not so different than mine.

“We don’t like it, of course, because it brings noise that we don’t need and is not helpful. But on the other side, we don’t want to make more out of it than it actually is.

“You know very well how it is, it’s very easy to take lines out of context, to shorten lines to make headlines, then realise later it’s not so bad or what he meant. But let’s be honest, we don’t like it, because it’s noise we don’t need, we need a calm environment and focus and it does not help.”
