Our inability to string a few pass together is actually impressive.
Does it come from poor coaching and not knowing where to move?
Next season our squad.

No Ronaldo (expect him to leave)
No Cavani
No Martial
No Pogba
No VDB
No Lingard
No Mata
No Matic
No Jones (TBD)

No Manager

Shows how much wrong is with this squad.
Good. Let us rebuild. Truly hope this doesn’t hurt Ragnicks influence from a director standpoint.
Love how people are having a go at the manager when you have Rashford punting simple passes out for goal kicks and Greenwood kicking passes out for throws, how about Sancho passing to Wolves players for fun, or McTominay giving the ball away, perhaps AWB never finding one man with a cross.

How can you coach players when that's their standard?
Once again does it come from poor coaching? I saw our players standing so close to each other with no idea where to move or pass the ball. Clueless how to play narrow since we were so close to each other, no triangles or anything. Narrow only works with that type of shape.
Don't really see Ronaldo fitting into this system, he was extremely static today. Can't fully blame him either as the service he got was abysmal. Horrible performance overall from the team.
There’s no way he should be playing this much. Oddly enough if sancho slots him in for a first time shot it’s a different game !

Problem is all the front 3 are super fecking greedy and don’t play like a team. They only pass it because there’s really no choice. Sancho decides not to OBVIOUSLY pass it to Ronaldo when he was clearly wide open. Same scenario happened about 4 times that game. If this was Liverpool, they’ll pass it to each other every fecking time! Because they are a TEAM and they want to win it. Ronaldo needs to score goals, Cavani needs to score goals, greenwood and Rashford need to score goals. And neither of them want to pass it to each other unless they have too. It’s a fecking joke. You can blame the manager all you want. But how the feck can it be HIs fault when they are a bunch of greedy cnuts.
Yep. Very little cohesion there

Don't taze me, bro
I think anyone blaming Rangnick, his system, or his tactics, is desperate not to admit that the problem that we have is much more fundamental.

What we have is the outcome of slow and steady accrual of bad signings, bad contracts, and bad management over many years. We have acquired a set of players who are not talented enough, not motivated enough, and, in particular, not compatible enough with one another to win major honors.

I won't bother to go into the specifics of any individual player because it's not worth the petty debate over whether player X or player Y would start for City/Liverpool/etc. The bottom line is that we only have a small numbers of players who could (ability) or would (compatibility) start for any of the top teams in the world right now. And we have almost no players who demonstrate compatibility and good understanding with one another, despite many years of training and playing together for quite a few.

To turn this around is not a matter of a new manager coming in and changing the system or tactics overnight, it's a matter of slowly and steadily removing the players we should not have and replacing them with better players who are compatible within a system.

How is 5 a high score?
In the setup with zero help in midfield and a slow Matić who doesn't go forward, its all they could do.
I think it's still higher than what I'd rate him.

Same score as Matic, who at the very least, brought the ball forward, made a few forward passes and also created our best chance. McTominay meanwhile was getting the weight of his passes wrong, losing his 50-50s and not showing for the ball, especially in the first half.

I agree with the Rashford score though. He's been hopeless.

Manchester United: Where you get paid to not give a shit.
Problem with this club is giving monstrous contracts to players who don’t deserve it. Just look at Rashford, Martial, Shaw renewals. You only need to « perform « a few weeks to make it here and be a multi millionaire.
No surprise they don’t give a damn. No matter what they’ll get a pay rise.

What the feck was that. I am of the opinion that Ralf should be given more time but this is seriously bad. I don't even see any improvement on the way we play.

Deserved feck all and got feck all.

He can't coach players who pass the ball out of play.

Sancho and Varane have been massive disapointments. We sign good players and somehow drag them down to our level. Rangnick doesnt appear to be having any impact at all.

We could at least keep and pass the ball under LVG.
True but our attack was so blunt. Watching us now I dont feel we're going to score. Say what you will about Ole but i always felt his team had a goal him them, the problem was we let in a buckton

Who would actually be sad to see any of them leave? Aside from those creepy Ronaldo fans/stalkers

A proper rebuild would be wonderful.

If people think Ralf is the problem, they ain’t gonna like him pulling strings in the background for 2 years when a new manager comes in. He’ll get the blame if that goes belly up, and it’ll be another case of rot in the eyes of many. Truth is, the players aren’t good enough.

In fairness Rangnick hasnt played one of the best teams yet. On this evidence we're headed for a real fecking at some point.

Guess we just skipped the honeymoon phase with Ralf, think we might actually be getting worse. Not sure what the light at the end of the tunnel is either as I'm not seeing anything that looks like we're trying to do the right thing but failing on a technical or psychological level, nothing we're doing is encouraging. Seems like it will take a minor miracle to salvage anything from this season. Well done Phil Jones, I guess.

Why would he even want that as part of the contract unless he just came to retire? I thought that was weird. I hope to god we dont have another rebuild. I thought that was the point of Ole.

We just got dominated by Wolves with Ronaldo, Varane, Sancho and Fernandes in the team.

Well, obviously you can blame poor coaching if you want. For me when the players fail to make an easy pass or fail to control a ball or fail to make a decent cross, or if they decide to go for a glory shoot over their teammate who is in a much better position I know who I would rather blame.

I am agog.

where’s this fecking gengenpress or whatever the feck you call it ?

How can Conte turn things around at spurs and yet the “godfather” of German football can’t here?

Why do these really fecking well paid “footballers” make the most basic

What has happened to Rashford?

What has happened to Sancho?

Why did we bring Greenwood off?

Just fecking why?

Rangnick is way over his head and way above his capability, these team selections and substitutions are truely puzzling. He has to go.

Really pleased for Jones, Ronaldo needs dropping and we need to play a formation that suits what we have not some mythical German failed pressing game.

Sick of the attitude of some of these players. Think they are better then what they are and have had in fecking easy for three years under Ole who's done more damage to the club in his own right.

Get rid of half of them or what was the fecking point of bringing Rangnick in?

Awful display.

So many of those players need a reality check and a few more need to be given the boot.

Our problem is that our players cant do basics right. Our full backs cant put a decent cross in. Our midfielders cant make simple passes let alone those fancy lofted through balls. Our wingers cant beat defenders 1v1 or be arsed to passed to striker in a better position. We rarely get the ball to our strikers so cant say if their finishing is shite or not yet. Our decision making is atrocious. We had sancho and cavani ignore the better option and try and shoot and not even get a corner or a save out of the keeper.

I just dont trust this formation. We never look like we have players in the middle of the pitch to pass too and everyone is either in defense of up top.We were in a 5-1-4 formation at times today in the 1st half. Theres always so much space between players that theres a much higher chance of passes to get intercepted specially when your team has poor passers !! No wonder we get overrun so easily in the middle. The opposing midfielders have no one to worry about.

After the 1st 30 mins vs Palace, we dont even press anymore. I really hope we change formations next game and bin 4-2-2-2 otherwise its goodbye CL next season which will impact our ability to land a good manager

There's nothing new to say at this stage. Playing a narrow formation against a compact outfit who play 343 and with plenty of width on attack says it all really.

Unfortunately, we're stuck with this guy until May now no matter what happens. This season is looking like a complete write off, but for once I'm glad we have a "so-called" world class squad.

Now we can see who the real pretenders are, and not leave things as they are, under the assumption that more money and better players will equal better results. Total cultural reboot needed.

Will it ever end? Apart from 30 minutes against palace, we’ve been similar to under Ole.
At this rate we’ll need another full rebuild.
That’s unforgivable for me in the first half when cavani didn’t pass to Greenwood.
Sancho was dreadful again and Mctominay, shocking.
We are technically inept. Wan Bissaka? 50 million?? Rashford, woeful again after he came on. Can’t keep the ball if our lives depended on it.
At least 4 players needed.

Is kicking more funk than a shaolin monk, forcing
How can this be the team we alienated Martial for? Are you really telling me we wouldn’t do much better with Martial leading the line and connecting the dots with our other attackers?

Rangnick is clueless for how much he features Ronaldo in this team. I won’t stop saying it either because it’s pretty obvious Ronaldo isn’t working well with the squad. Everyone is forced to pass to him when they could shoot themselves. We are playing with 10 men which is unbelievable when you factor in our other handicaps in AWB and mctominay.

Well said.

Its so obvious that the boy Ronaldo has taken a team that was improving, especially in the first 1.5 seasons of Bruno arriving, to a team in conflict.

Stats do lie sometimes as Ronnie's goals do not make up for the lack of cohesion or character that has been seen this season. Also, Bruno had more goals and assists than any other player in the league in those first 18 months, since Ronnie joined? Nowhere near it.

Ronaldo was perfect for the club when he joined as an 18 year old, but 18 years later he is far from it...yet so many people cant seem to see the obvious.

Our midfield and general passing is poor but at least last season the team had fight, not so this term.

Its funny how it takes United going 1 down before Cristiano decides to start chasing the ball.
