Bill Simmons actually did the discussion about bad contracts recently on his podcast and Klay made the list. Obviously in hindsight it’s turned out to be a bad deal but don’t think Warriors had much of an option
The Warriors were obviously prepared to eat a year of Klay's contract while he recovered from injury, the second year not so much. However, if he comes back at the level he was at before he got hurt and the Dubs can win one or more Championships during the lifetime of the contract I'm sure they will still consider it well worth it.

Warriors offense has gone to shit. Steph has been appalling. Mavs haven't been much better.

What is going on with Curry? 5-24 tonight and his cold stretch continues. Started the season sizzling and hasn't been himself shooting-wise for a while.

Bit of a storm online about the commentator's choice of words when KPJ knocked down the 3.

Supposedly in reference to this.

https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.sportscasting.com/kevin-porter-jr-s-father-spent-4-years-in-prison-for-manslaughter-and-was-later-killed-in-a-bar-fight/?amp
I won't attribute this to malice when it's clearly ignorance. He, as so many sports commentators, doesn't do his homework and doesn't prepare properly, so he geniunely thought KPJ is the son of former Wizard's player Kevin Porter while actually knowing less about KPJ than the average NBA fan.
Wouldn't mind if he gets the boot over it, say NO to horribly prepared commentators!

Another good loss to a Cleveland team that is looking super fun and seems to have bright future with Garland, Mobley and Allen.

Holmgren/Banchero/Hardy/Smith/Ivey here we come.

Last night game reminded me that D'Lo's shooting has been relatively poor and that he has still managed to be very good a consistent overall, mainly because out of nowhere he has become the leader of the defense and that the Wolves actually have a good defense.

Spo is really incredible at how he gets so much out of so little.

Heats shot really well and our defense just couldn't cope with their 3s all game.

I expect Miami Heat at Conference Finals again, since I'm Durant hater (for his bithcy attitude). Miami vs Milwaukee would be my conference final and then Miami will be smashed by Milwaukee and my lovely Giannis ( I'm Bucks fan).

As long as the Dubs then smash the Bucks in the finals, I'm OK with that. :)

According to SI, LeBron James and Nikola Jokic are now 1 and 2 in the MVP race for this season. WTF!!!!! You've got to be joking. All I heard last season was....

...but your team's got to be good, you can't be MVP on a bad team, it doesn't matter about personal stats if your team's not winning etc, etc, etc....

The Lakers and Nuggets are barely 0.500, in fact the Lakers have only beaten 5 teams with a winning record all season.

Double standards, hmmm!!!!

Why can't the Wolves win games?

Good win. Always in control but Steph is still struggling with his shot. I thought he'd snapped out of it when he hit his first four 3 pointers, but then he goes and misses the last seven.

On a (very) positive note, Klay started a little slowly (as to be expected) but 17 points in your first game for 2 1/2 years is pretty damn good.

Definitely an improvement on offence but still work to be done. We know they’re always going to have Steph shoot his way out of a slump. A much better return but efficiency only ok.

but tonight is only for positivity!

I know the Lakers are not very good, but right now, IMLTHO, the Memphis Grizzlies are the best team in the NBA.

High praise!

In terms of consistent brilliance I think we're a tier behind you'se, the Suns, and full strength Bucks/Nets, but our record against all the mentioned teams is 4-2, and that's with Ja being out for a few of them. I'd like to see Jenkins getting a few nods for coach of the year if this continues and we solidify a hold on 4th place at least.

It's also great to see Klay back. Barring the trophy coming to FedEx Forum, wouldn't mind seeing that core of Steph, Klay and Draymond winning another one.

That Ja block, fecking hell

And not gonna lie, that Klay introduction and the poster right before HT nearly brought a tear to my eye, so great to see him back on the court.

Grizzlies went on that amazing streak fully without Ja, their record this season is actually better without him than with him from what I recall. Bane has been super impressive on both ends of the floor.

Very solid, deep team with basically 10-11 roster players who can play very well on any given night. Memphis also has 3 picks in the upcoming draft, granted none of them are going to be anywhere near lottery but it's still quite valuable as an asset to perhaps make the team even better. They could quite feasibly trade for a star with some of their young players + picks.

Utah, Suns, Warriors for the West and Miami, Nets and Bucks the East. One of these 6 teams is winning the championship. Bulls and Memphis aren't ready yet.

If I had to pick one to win it all, honestly Id go with Miami. If Butler and Bam are back healthy and its crazy the Heat have been winnning without them and are 25-15 then they will be scary in the playoffs. With Oladipo back after the All Star break and PJ Tucker, Morris and the crazy depth they have in Struss, Duncan, Caleb Martin, Gabe Vincent, Yursltseven, Dedmon, no one will want to face them.

Lowry, Tucker Butler and Bam is lockdown defense with Oladipo off the bench its straight clamps then the 20ppg from Herro off the bench. They are my favorites.

You guys are terrifying. That win over you was a huge deal for us (warriors) since we always seem to struggle

Heat is not winning.

You need genuine superstars to win it all. What was the last champion to not have a consensus top-5 player in the league. 2011 Mavs?

I agree they are unlikely to win it but Butler at his best is probably a borderline top 10 player, Spoelstra is a fantastic coach, Lowry is still pretty amazing, Bam is great and they should have both great defense and shooting. Their best 7-8 players are very good and they can throw many different lineups at you.

Our new front office has done well so far but the danger is getting overly excited over a B-level star and paying too much in hopes he'll get us over the hump (when he most likely won't).

I like Myles Turner but wouldn't want to give up too much for him, for example.

Tough match up tonight especially with Draymond out. Here's hoping I jinxed the Grizz by calling them the best team in the NBA.

I don’t think Grizzlies will want to make panic moves to get themselves into contention now. Ja and Jaren are just 22, Bane is 23, all will be expected to be there until like 2026-2027 or longer. They will have some OK picks and cap space in between so they could improve the team further at any point. You can see how valuable good scouting is with Bane, he’s probably a top 10 shooting guard in the league already and he was 30th pick of the draft. Ziaire Williams could develop to be quite good too, let’s see.

Not sure Turner would be a good fit next to Jaren, they are quite similar. Actually I’d prefer Sabonis from Indiana as he would give some inside scoring and post ups, as well as playmaking from the front court. Probably too expensive to attain anyway as you would need to give them a young player, salary filler and 2-3 picks.

The Grizzlies with a bit win against Golden State tonight. Stephen Curry has been cold for a while and wasn't at his best, again, despite a triple a double.
