His podcasts were a guilty pleasure of mine. He's always been thick as mince, but it's often how he gets interesting stuff from his guests. His one with Alex Jones is hilarious.

Turns out almost everyone else who listens is some libertarian freak job. I haven't listened since before covid, but clearly he's gone off the deep end. Shame really as I suspect the better guests will be put off going back.
I used to listen, but wouldn't have called it a guilty pleasure. He's always been a moron, but he used to be pretty harmless and the show was all about the quality of guests. Now, he's becoming a damaging influence.

I used to listen as well. I think a big reason was that the really long form, rambling interview was such a novelty at the time. And when he had a good guest on there was usually a lot of decent content.

I also think he used to be quite good as an interviewer. Letting guests speak without cutting across them (also novel). I stopped listening a few years ago but whenever I see clips now he seems much more confrontational, less interested in his guests opinions and more about trying to get his own agenda across.

I’ve no idea who yer man is but Joe Rogan’s defence seems fair enough. He’s incredibly close minded on anything that challenges his libertarian ideals but - for all his many faults - is open-minded about most other stuff.
Joe is now furiously retweeting random studies by random followers telling us why Joe was right all along.
There is nothing fair about Joe, he won’t learn from this.

Ah. Ok. I don’t follow him on Twitter. And, as I said above, my knowledge of him is from quite a long time ago. I’m willing to accept he’s given up attempting to be open-minded. Nobody seems to be these days. No matter their opinion. It’s all about doubling down.

Wait, was Joe Rogan really wrong or not? In that Zepps segment, I mean.

Rogan's show is basically a giant, self-reinforcing grift. He has long convos with army of disparate influencers, where his show benefits from their contributions on various topics. They in turn gain access to his growing audience to expand their brands, sell their books, and/or advertise their services. Then when Rogan gets criticized, they publicly come to his defense in hope he continues inviting them back on. Rinse and repeat.

You would have to watch the video to find out.
I could swear there were tweets posted on this or the previous page which indicated Rogan might not have been so wrong after all. That's why I asked.

What is your problem? I asked a question, that's literally all.
There's no problem at all other than you are asking about content that doesn't seem to exist. Maybe if you can track down your (possible) Reddit posts, we can take a look at whether the info is legit or not.

Don't frame this in a different way. You asked me if I might be imagining things. If I had to take an educated guess, you didn't like somebody asking a question about whether Rogan was wrong or not. It was your tone.

Actually, this was what I initially posted after seeing the twitter clip of Rogan/Zepps. Afterwards I saw some tweets (maybe on Reddit though) that 'defended' Rogan.
That Zepps segment.

I found the tweets by the way. I don't have knowledge/expertise on this stuff so that's why I asked whether Rogan was wrong or not.

“-You’re 8 times more likely to get it from Covid.
-That’s interesting, that’s not what I’ve read before. But also, where are we getting this from? ..it’s the under reporting..”

that right there is so dangerous and idiots like him are one of the reasons why millions of people don’t trust medical experts when they tell you that Covid is bad and you should get vaccinated to prevent serious illness and to stop the spread.
Yep.

Now that he got owned, he says in reality he doesn't know shit.

He speaks like he knows though... dangerous.

His credibility has taken a massive hit over this since there is now a campaign for Spotify to tighten up their content standards. Even worse, anything he says about any topic will be taken with a massive pinch of salt by those who previously didn't question him.

Rogan quotes american covid contrarians like Vinay Prasad. If you look in those threads, there are scientists and doctors pointing out how these guys are misrepresenting studies with basic errors and ignoring wider contexts.

My cardiologist, who has previously appeared on Rogan's podcast to debate him about veganism, has now become a Rogan-esque science skeptic, and even had his IG account temporarily suspended for it recently.
Time to find a new cardiologist then!

He knows his cardiology just fine. He's just become unhinged about COVID related stuff over the past 18 months - mainly, he's taken a bizarre vaccine skeptic position and is now posting anti-Fauci memes on his IG. He made some vague references to Trump the last time I talked to him before COVID but I didn't think anything of it at the time.

I looked up this Prasad dude. Is this him? Very worrying if people like these spout misinformation.

I’d start shopping around for a new cardiologist.
