Watching Andy Robertson makes me realise how utter shit Alonso is.

Because we were a penalty save away from a better cup and we're still in the CL. Stop acting like you're supporting Spurs
Embarrassing  Have won feck all in half a decade yet thinks you’re still too good for the League Cup.

Loved that. Bossed it after 15 minutes and deserved to go through. Interesting final. Hope we have Thiago available. Chelsea's midfield gave us a lot of trouble in the recent league game.

Im still surprised so many rate Davies over Robertson because of the CL winning season at Bayern, the level of consistency from Robertson at a high level is mental.

I remember your lot calling it the Mickey Mouse cup for years and you went a lot longer than half a decade without winning anything. It’s a good competition to win, any are, but if you’re going to win a cup you’d rather it be the FA Cup

Of course much rather the FA Cup. I still think League Cup it a bit of a nothing cup, but better to win something than nothing. Like someone noticed a few pages back, we have one domestic cup in the last 16 years. Beggars can’t be choosers, I’ll gladly take it.

Its a nice one to win, the kind that makes a good season better. An average season where you only win the FA Cup can be turned into a good one with an FA and League Cup double etc... While its the smallest on offer in England its nothing to turn ones nose at even for big clubs. I'd take a league cup over nothing thats for sure.

Davies is genuinely better

Why would Arteta even put Partey in if he’s just off a plane from Africa, surely a young player would have been as useful
Down by 2 goals very late in a 2nd leg of a semi-final with Arsenal showing nothing worth talking about before the change, I would have sent a kid in there too just to introduce an unknown variable. There was just nothing to lose by that point.

Isn't it going to be five years if you don't win anything this season? Was the last time 2017 or did you pick something up in 2018 under Mourinho?
I think it was the way he specifically worded it to make it sound historical

I’m well aware how long it is.

Its more the use of ‘half a decade’ to sensationalise it and make it feel longer than it is.

I like Duffer's even if he is only posting that to show how good at maths he is. Would've taken me until tomorrow to get that.

Let’s go with a decade. United have still won more major trophies than Liverpool in the past decade despite it being one of the worst and chaotic for the club in memory and it being one of Liverpool’s best…

Can we go for the two year period of 2018-2020?

Think Liverpool are going to beat Chelsea in the final, winning their first Carabao Cup in 10 years. Been really long since they won either of 2 domestic cups but they won't care after winning Premier League and Champions League. Klopp never really cared much about domestic cups anyways.

I'll take the CL and PL over the PL, Europe League, FA Cup and League Cup...

I wasn't even bashing United or placing Liverpool higher or whatever, merely pointing out that the League Cup, even if it's "the Mickey Mouse cup" is still a "nice to have" trophy and nothing to scoff at if you haven't won anything in years. Same went for Liverpool when we won feck all before Klopp turned up.

It'll be interesting to see where both clubs are 10 years from now in terms of trophies etc. I doubt you'll see a long period of dominance like what United and Liverpool have had covering decades. City might have a few more titles by then I guess but hopefully Guardiola calls it a day.
