We should have signed him.Reminds me of Robben and all his injuries early on. Robben was a professional though.

You'd have to admit seeing that video that in spite of his finishing looking like Bebe's, he can be a deadly player for the club that signs him. There is clear potential to see, provided his attitude improves and he stays injury free. At 150k wage / week, it'd be worth a shot - at 400k, sorry.Just for the craic. This is woeful stuff though.
To be fair, if I was Barcelona I’d feel slightly sh*tty towards him aswell. Due to constant injuries He literally cost them £1m per appearance plus wages (roughly £45m over 4 years), and has contributed very little for the cost. Although not completely dembeles fault, to ask for even more wages just feels a bit cheeky, especially when it’s been frequently reported that he’s not the most professional. I’d feel I’d be due some kind of refund from him but that’s the way football goes now. Technically hasn’t done anything wrong, and football is a business and a job, just feel there’s a value of ethic missingBarcelona are absolute tools and hypocrites. They are happy for the likes of Memphis, Garcia and Aguero to run their contracts down elsewhere before joining them but treat Dembele like some sort of criminal for completing his.
Its Barcelona... they'll make players like Coutinho fake injuries and push moves but when players want to play for Barca, they'll shaft them when it suits them.Barcelona are absolute tools and hypocrites. Granted, the way barcelona went about it was so bad they probably even gave him the kind of ammunition to try, but it's highly unlikely anybody would sue anybody else here. At the end of the day barcelona are under no obligation to play him, the contract only requires them to provide the player with training facilities and coaches to perform his job. Not playing him because he won't sign a new contract is not a breach of contract, at most its mobbing but then you have to prove it and it's simply just not worth it. It's not like this is a unique or isolated caseBarca's new board have taken very bad decisions lately... It's OK being mad at Dembele due to his poor performances and health endurance, but crying out loud in the media that he is gonna be benched if he doesn't sign an extension can clearly be interpreted as an inhibitory act... I wouldn't be surprised if the agent sues the club and demands damages for breach of contract... Not only that, but with Fati's injury, wouldn't it make sense to use Dembele? Even if he is not considered for the future, you have to bring solutions immediately and right now he is available.
They already got a warning by the Professional Footballers Association in Spain, I don't know if that carries any weight but it's clearly not the way to treat a player, and it's a turn off for other potential transfer targets. It's also illegal and considered coercion or blackmail as Dembele put it. The injury to Fati is only going to make their situation worse if they stick to their guns.Granted, the way barcelona went about it was so bad they probably even gave him the kind of ammunition to try, but it's highly unlikely anybody would sue anybody else here. It's really not illegal. Pressuring him with that is a bad look and would naturally get the players union interested, but it's not strictly breaching any contract or labour law as long as they provide him with whatever they're contractually obliged to. Not playing him is a legitimate - i.e. entirely lawful - choice. Again, this happens frequently and very rarely ends before a judgeThey already got a warning by the Professional Footballers Association in Spain, I don't know if that carries any weight but it's clearly not the way to treat a player, and it's a turn off for other potential transfer targets. The issue is not benching him - I'm aware they can do that - but the problem is the explanation the Board gave to the media and how that could be interpreted by a trial court in case Dembele makes a case for blackmailing/coersion. When the termination of his contract is nearby, his agent will surely look very carefully the little details of his contract to obtain a better severance package. It's really not illegal. I think the other cases you pointed out, and I think you even used Bale as an example, were done without the kind of statement the board made about Dembele. I don't know or at least can't recall of a situation where the board explicitly explained he would not play because he refused to renew his contract. This makes it a bit different than trying to argue it is for sporting reason, especially with their lack of options. It's really not illegal. Yea i concur. If you told him to just keep doing what he is doing but pass instead of shoot, he looks decent. You'd have to admit seeing that video that in spite of his finishing looking like Bebe's, he can be a deadly player for the club that signs him. The board statement was outrageous but I still doubt they face any consequences. It’s just Dembeles camp trying to save face. As long as they keep paying him there isn’t much to argue about.I think the other cases you pointed out, and I think you even used Bale as an example, were done without the kind of statement the board made about Dembele. He can shoot but he is terrible at 1v1.Great dribbler, can’t shoot to save his life, massively injury prone.
He really needs to stop holding the O buttton on the controllerJust for the craic. This is woeful stuff though.
No, it's a bit more complicated than that. It's coercion, that can easily be proven. You can also easily argue that you are lowering his already plummeting value by not playing him when he is fit and available and you have injuries at his positions, which hampers his future prospects. This isn't just trying to save face, although it doesn't mean it would go to court, but there's valid reasons to be upset at this sort of treatment, and it's really not a good look for any prospective players thinking of signing a contract at Barcelona. The board statement was outrageous but I still doubt they face any consequences. That being said; it does go to show that you can’t just make ‘players train with the kids’ or whatever our fans want when Pogba or Rashford is playing poorly.
Dembélé's main issues aren't about training properly, though it doesn't hurt and could do with a good coach. Due to injuries he has never been able to have a long and stable season, despite that he registered a goal or assist every 136 minutes which is pretty good when you consider the negative context. Also his injuries are mainly not niggling injuries which could be linked to lifestyle, he seemingly has a similar issue to Coman, they accelerate a bit too strongly and the hamstring explodes(it's not accurate but that's how it seems).Talented player, if he goes somewhere with a coach that knows what he's doing and makes him train properly he could kick on.
Naturally that makes him a terrible fit for us, our a great one if Woodward gets to decide.
If you think that the little bitch that is Haaland said he felt unneccessarily "pressured" by Dortmund the other day because they told him they want a decision by him what he'll do in summer.. and that after what his agent and dad have been pulling for the whole of his spellNo, it's a bit more complicated than that. Liverpool, Juve would be good destinations. Liverpool better than Juve. But no PSG?Dembélé's main issues aren't about training properly, though it doesn't hurt and could do with a good coach. Now when it comes to United, I wouldn't touch him because our medical staff can barely handle our injury prone players and we seemingly don't have a strong leadership in the locker room which I believe is important when you have characters like Dembélé who needs guidance and attention. On paper I would say that Liverpool, City, Real Madrid and Bayern are the best fit, maybe Juventus.
I don't see PSG as a good fit for Dembélé, I could be wrong but it's sink or swim kind of environment and he doesn't want the scrutiny of french media, in fact I apply that to all top french players.Liverpool, Juve would be good destinations. Liverpool better than Juve. But no PSG?
Liverpool have probably the greatest need, but they won't pay him what he'd want. City and Bayern have a ton of wide players, so PSG would probably be the best fit when the Mbappe to Real transfer happens. Though between him, Messi and Neymar, that's one injury prone front line.Dembélé's main issues aren't about training properly, though it doesn't hurt and could do with a good coach. To be clear, I'm not predicting where he will go or where he should go but the kind of environment that could see him not ruin his career.Liverpool have probably the greatest need, but they won't pay him what he'd want. I don't know anything about the medical side of his injuries but there have been players that grow out of it once they hit their prime. Something a top coach with a good medical team would consider in depth.
I get that.I don't see PSG as a good fit for Dembélé, I could be wrong but it's sink or swim kind of environment and he doesn't want the scrutiny of french media, in fact I apply that to all top french players.
I don't know if you agree or disagree. Surely you know what would happen if Dembélé or any top french player went to PSG and had a few poor weeks of Football. Even an all conquering Mbappé is criticized heavily at the first opportunity.Good thing we have so few of them.
Like when Neville said David Luiz v Germany was like watching a child play PlayStation. Dembele Could be worth a gamble for a settled club with a steady dressing room to focus him and improve him but that’s clearly not us.He really needs to stop holding the O buttton on the controller
What is that supposed to mean? The player that has been the most targetted in the last decade is white(Giroud) and the french PSG player that has had the most pressure outside of Mbappé was probably Ménez who I believe is white.I get that.
As for the bolded, even the white ones?
Just, jokingly really, fishing based on that I heard or read someone saying the whole package of Rabiot, his performances, his behaviour, the behaviour of his entourage, would have been under much heavier scrutiny had he been black. Obviously no idea whether that was true, that's why the question form. What is that supposed to mean? That's nonsense because Rabiot was critcized, his mom was heavily criticized and Rabiot is one of the few players to have been pushed aside from the french team after acting like a fool. Oh, I'm agreeing with you. It's always more difficult for any player in any league to deal with the press of their own country anyways, others don't care as much and just look from afar. I was just making a joke of how that's not really much of a problem at PSG since we have so few.I don't know if you agree or disagree. "He didn't score in the past 60 minutes. His head is somewhere else!"
