Lampard will remember him from the Chelsea Ajax game where Ajax absolutely dominated Chelsea at Stanford Bridge. Donny played in a double pivot besides Lisandro Martinez that game behind Ziyech as a 10.

Really curious how Lampard will use him..
Exactly like that. .

We all love United
Donny might as well cancel the Everton contract and comes back here now that Dele Alli is there too. Lampard isn’t going to play with 2 number 10s, will he? And he has Richarlison who plays there too

On a serious note, we might want to unsign the loan agreement. With Dele in, Donny is at risk of bench rot.

With the unexpected player suspension we read about yesterday, Donny could find a role with United as Sancho’s backup. Wishful thinking perhaps, but it’s not as though Sancho has played every possible minute this season himself.

Utterly ridiculous, get DVB then get Dele Ali. Two players who play the same position. Donny should have gone to palace.

What a killer argument.

Dalot has probably been our best player for the past month
He hasn’t but even if he were that would make him maybe the best player in a team that has drawn with Newcastle and Aston Villa and lost to Wolves. Not exactly what I’d cal good enough.

His wife is pregnant I think, probably wants to stay local. Also, Palace's best player plays in his position too. No guarantee of game time there.

Has anyone been paying close enough attention to the timeline of this loan deal and the Alli deal?

I'm a bit worried they got VdB not thinking an Alli deal would come off, but then it did and they have all the incentive in the world to use him over VdB and now just see the VdB loan as a bonus and sure if they use him they use him.

That would be a bit silly as they are paying 100% of his wages

Good luck to him, at least all these loans mean I'm a bit more interested in some other teams games for the next six months.

Gaz. Is a Mewling Quim.
I’m absolutely baffled that people can think we’re in the wrong not playing him then getting up in arms that he won’t play because Dele Alli is his competition. This ain’t 2018 any more.

Maybe they'll play him as an 8, he's decent there, enough to keep you from getting relegated certainly.

We’re not great are we? Unless you think we’ve been good enough this season?
So what point are you trying to make exactly? That they're all shite but those 3 in-particular you quoted are really really shite?

Manchester Utd never lose, just run out of time
The hope is that Everton are looking to play him in a midfield role while Alli plays ahead of him. That was always the hope seeing as VDB has shown he isn't good enough in a #10 role to get ahead of Bruno, so him playing in midfield is the better option for us.

My point is fairly clear. They haven’t proved to be good enough. The only counter argument to that has been a period of alright form for a team playing shit, looking at a losing battle for fourth. Not what I’d qualify as proving they’re good enough.

Leaves us a bit light in midfield, we already were realistically but he wasn't anywhere near starting so good news for him. Let's hope he can finally show what he can do in the Premier League and we get the player we had hoped we were getting back from this loan in the summer.

Hoping we finish this season at least knowing he can do well in the PL, even if we still don't know if he'll fit in for us under the new manager.

Also agree with @MadDogg above. If he plays as a #10 then that's less useful from our POV as he'll never play ahead of Bruno regularly in that position for us. I want to see him as a #8.

I'd have chosen Palace if I were him. Vieira seems to have a better grip on the job and its a much less toxic situation there.

That Alli deal (if it happens) would be a source of frustration. Surely they're not starting in the same side? They've played 442 recently, with Doucouré and Gomes in midfield, with Gray and Townsend and then the two danger men Richarlison and Calvert-Lewin up front.

Granted, he'd surely ask first of all about game time assurances to make the move, especially as he had other options. But unless Lampard is going for a three man midfield it's hard to imagine both Alli and Donny in a first XI.

Hope he’s played regularly …perhaps Dele as No10 with Donny behind

Good luck to VDB. He was given short shrift but didn't throw a tantrum. I hope he has an amazing 2nd half of the season. For all the entitled players with attitude problems, we had VDB who definitely wanted to play for United, and never seemed to let the lack of minutes affect his professionalism.

But you're saying the entire team is shite so you're point is the whole team is not good enough? Not just those 3?

The team as a whole is not good enough on current performances. That should be obvious to anybody who’s watched United all season. What are you even arguing? Dalot being one of the better performers in a team that have played like shit isn’t evidence of him proving he’s good enough. It’s only subjective proof of him playing slightly better than players who have been playing shit. How simple do I need to make this?
