He's too old - can't handle the league. His touch and passing is crap under any pressure now and he cant work/run enough to lead a line. We need rid of in the summer and get someone 10-12 years younger who can put away chances and handle the roughness of the league.

Yea we should never have got him…and this is coming from a Ronaldo fan!
Not really sure what his attributes are anymore. His goal in the CL groupstage has definitely helped him so far, but overall if he's not a clinical poacher he's not really anything anymore. I think I saw him doing 1 good defensive move during the game, awful apart from that.

Not wanting to pass towards Rashford when he was in better position, yet cries for pass from Dalot when Dalot decided to shoot in almost identical situation.

Remember when he signed and we were so excited we were even half pondering if he could maybe catch Rooney on the all time scorers list? At this rate he won't even catch Ruud

The nostalgia got to me. I dared to dream. But I should have seen this coming. He plays like a 37-year old, an old man in a young man’s sport.

Pace and power were vital to his effectiveness and these traits are first to wane in all of us.

His goals have been very welcome but those have dried up as well. It’s the American or Chinese league for this lad now. God speed.

if you watched Serie A regularly, you saw this coming... but I wasnt 100% sure if it was just father time catching up, or if he was just half arsing to get out of turin.

I guess we know now. Unfortunate.

Not really his style though. Even now, he's trying, but he's just too old and the team is too dependent on everybody doing more for him to be able to focus just on what he can still do without affecting the team by what he doesn't.

Yeah, I can't see any way that City really wanted him. Wouldn't suit them at all. It was all bullshit. Had to be.
It was clear as day City wanted him. Listen to Peps comments after Ronaldo signed. He wanted him. However, it was a blessing in disguise for them. Ronaldo has regressed a lot this season. At the start of it he wasn't bad and still scoring for portugal as well.

ya, I didnt think it was his style either, but he was moaning a lot on the pitch, so I couldn't rule it out. unusual amount of it, actually.

Pep has too much class to say he didn’t want Ronaldo. I doubt he was really all that disappointed.

Ronnies been shite but Dalot taking a shot vs Rash/Ronaldo? come on now.
Both times other player was better positioned and both times there wasn't pass.

Dalot shoud've passed to Cristiano just as Cristiano should've to Rashford because if there's a unmarked player on the other side pass the fecking ball, or that doesn't apply to Saint Cristiano?

We bought him to be clinical but so far in 2022, he hasn't been clinical at all.

Yes but Dalot not passing to an attacker is a bigger deal than another attacker not passing to another.

Never bought into the romantic nostalgia for a second. Awful decision by the club but I'm pretty sure the glazers will be happy enough with the decision. So obvious we are just a business. His arrival has stifled any momentum our young attack minded players might have been gathering, not to mention the adverse effect his tantrums have had on their young impressionable mentalities. Sooner the season is over the better. Has to be the biggest change in the summer we have seen for many years or we will slip further down the league for years to come

Haha, I think CR7 has always moaned a ton, at least definitely noticed it way more once he was a couple of season in Madrid already. I've always found it such an irritating trait, always moaning when the ball isn't passed to him, and never happy if his teammates scored but he didn't. He's a terrible team mate IMO, so I'm not surprised he's not exactly inspiring anybody at United when he's past it.

So with an open goal to aim at, Ronaldo's left foot shot was so tame that it allowed the defender time to get back and clear it off the line without much difficulty.

He was offside for Dalot's shot so probably wise for Dalot to shoot.

It’s a dip in form. But it’s also true that Ronaldo has to be better managed. He’s just not capable of 90 minutes back to back any longer.
Its not a dip in form, this is the end of his career. Christ, he is 37 years old  how many more seasons do you think he has to get back into form? If he doesn’t retire this season then it will probably be next.

It hurts to say but he really is looking like a 37 year old footballer now. Shows the odd glimpse of brilliance every so often but we can’t think we’re getting back to the top with him leading our line as the main striker. Other teams are laughing at us.

That off side towards the end of the game where he was miles off was just embarrassing, like something from Sunday league stuff.

Hasn't stopped him before.
He said before he didn’t want Ronaldo? Or other players? If the latter, I think being a GOAT contender buys you some extra respect.

As far as his early season performance, yes it was better but was it ever going to last? I could imagine Pep liked the idea of working with him for a season - for fun that is, rather than for the greater good of Man City. Either way I’m sure he got over it in a heartbeat.

Looks like this is not just a bad patch. I didn’t want to listen to Juve fans when he signed - I thought they were just bitter but what a bit of business for them. Did he sign a 1 or 2 year deal with us? Another season of this and we are absolutely done for.

It could have. At this age it's a risk. When regression hits you, it hits you hard but the way Ronaldo was going when he was like 35, it seemed like he could have played till 40.

Had one supreme chance today and for some reason shot with the power of a granny.
Seems destined to be stuck on 14 goals now!

It's still been the one plus point of the season for me, the pure nostalgia and feel good element was immense.

But if it did end up as a one season thing, then it might be the best for the team's good next season.
That totally depends on who the striker is we bring in.

How much are we paying him again?

Because frankly I'd rather use this failed season to see McNeill or Elanga in front.
Or Bruno as a false 9 and Hannibal played in.
Or just fecking something....

Nostalgia is killing this club. Hired shit manager because he is a legend, spent fortune on finished former player, refusing to sell academy players despite the fact that they are not good enough....

Considering our bench options today I won't be too harsh on RR but to see Ronaldo and Rashford being shite the whole game is infuriating. All the creaming on Ronaldo. Wonder what a Che Adams could do in our team. If he isn't scoring at least he is causing issues.

This club deserves everything happening when you consider this opinion is what the huge majority of its fans think? The guy is 37, how can you attribute his consistent terrible performances to form and not age?

Thought he'd easily get 30+ goals after the start he made. 20 looks optimistic at this rate. Not even sure if he'll break the 100 goals mark for the premier league.
