Israel ech? We should really be treating them the same as Russia. Total isolation.
Doesn't Roman Ambramovich have dual Israeli/Russian citizenship, or did i make that up?

Israel are equally as culpable as Russia, agree with you.

My brain can't get pregnant!
If NATO wants an excuse to enter the WAR, they got one. Ask Croatia to declare this an act of war.

NATO don't want to get involved. Nobody else does. It's being handled well as it is, no need to escalate things further. It's heartbreaking to see what's going on, but everyone is doing everything they can without causing things to escalate to somewhere that cant be returned from.

Sanctions, aid, weapons, training, information, tactical support, equipment, supplies... That's all working. Calmer heads are prevailing. Let's hope that continues.

Something not on the news yet. A Ukrainian girl that I know has said that Russia are allegedly paying separatists €20 per building to paint these targets on buildings. They are doing this whilst walking through the humanitarian corridors.

one was caught, handed over to police. They are recovering any targets they find

Theres a stunning video report of Kharkiv from BBC's Quentin Sommerville on Twitter. He patrols the city with the Ukrainian army.

The video is 6 minutes long and also shows some dead bodies, so won't post it here

Don't believe the narrative that Putin enjoys uncritical levels of support amongst the nationalist old guard.

The chairman of the All-Russian Officers’ Assembly, retired General-Colonel Leonid Ivashov, published an appeal on his organization’s website on Jan. 31 to “the President and Citizens of the Russian Federation.” The sharply worded missive, issued on behalf of the organization, ends with the words: “We, Russia’s officers, demand that the President of the Russian Federation reject the criminal policy of provoking a war in which Russia would be alone against the united forces of the West… and retire.”

Surprised more attention wasnt paid to this at the time.

It would also suggest to me that his personal security is not inviolable either.

You’d think now would be the perfect time for the Belorussian military to be brave and oust Lukashenko if he tries to draw them into a war they want no part of.

It would have extremely popular support amongst the population and it’s maybe the only chance they would get where Russia are too busy to prevent it.

I got intrigued by this and googled it to learn that the UK still has some lawmakers that makes it to the parliament without anyone casting a vote for them. (Heredity and appointment it seems). And we were wondering how dirty Russian money could flow so freely..

Explains a lot then, thanks!
I doubt that it explains much — he has Israeli citizenship because, well, he’s Jewish and has a right of repatriation.

Israeli unsurprisingly sketchy foreign politics hardly have anything to do with it.

It's a "funny" situation: I'm not sure you could really blame the Russians for attacking a weapon's transport to their opponents in this war (as long as it happens inside the actual war zone at least), but then Nato couldn't just say "fair enough" either if it actually happened.

They’re all bond with Lukashenko by the blood of their own people. Belarus’ army won’t be popular amongst the anti-Lukashenko public because of the atrocities that they’ve committed since 2020 and the people who are loyal to Lukashenko are hardly going to cheer for them either.

TBF I don't think it's realistic Russia are just going to watch loads of weapons and ammo be delivered to be used against them and do nothing about it

Probably NATO will handover shipments far from conflict zones and then leave it to Ukraine to handle the distribution to the front line

Can't imagine the royal engineers going in there and setting up logistic supply bridges and corridors under Russia fire... That will for sure escalate rapidly

Can see NATO giving hundreds of trucks though full of ammo and letting a ukranian driver hop in at the border and take it from there

That’s really good to understand. I appreciate the context.

It doesn't really say where they would be targeted. Assuming on Ukrainian territory, this would have to be expected. Anywhere else and all hell breaks loose
After these threats youd expect any convoy will be well defended all the way to the border. Russia wouldn't risk it, they're having trouble with Ukrainian air defences as it is.

Yeah, it is only on Twitter. The one on the BBC website and broadcast on TV was cut and didn’t show the petrol station scene.
