Should have got a pen for Sevilla but it's Barca, so of course no pen.
That was one of his best skills-going down in the box and winning a penalty (sometimes with very little contact)

I'm talking about the cross that hit Araujo's arm.

Anelka. He completely lost it at one point but he was amazing again with Chelsea late in his career.
But Anelka was at least a properly good striker before he lost it, Martial was a promising young striker, who mainly played on the wing where it never quite worked, never really showed he could deliver regularly in any position and never really had good coaches to work with him.

He's broken physically. I watch all his games. He'll never run around. But he used to take people on. He doesn't even Try anymore.

Really? Seemed like there was hardly any space between his arm and body.
I watched a repeat and there was clear daylight between his arm and the body, enough to award a pen for me.

Martial is a very technical and skilled footballer. He also isn't as lazy as some make it seem. He will do the defensive work. His biggest problem is his footballing brain. He doesn't see space. He always wants ball to feet so his off the ball movement is basic. He is too reactionary and doesn't anticipate. Throw in some poor body language and it's easy not to like him...
not moving off the ball can be a sign of laziness.

I’ve got a crazy theory we’re gonna do some sort of loan swap with Chelsea for Timo Werner involving Martial this Summer. Anthony’s got more talent but Werner works far harder. I’m not entirely sure why I think this but I can’t shift the notion.

The club is poorly run and Martial couldn’t give a shit about anything on the pitch.

This would somehow be mental for both clubs.

Doubt Chelsea will be able to do any sort of deal this summer until they're sold

Basically calling him a lazy bastard  he's just like 70/80% of our squad, yet people on here blame recent results on Rangnick.
The article is seemingly about his output not his workrate. AS suggests that his increased defensive responsibilities could be the reason behind lower figures since he came back from injuries.

It was the same at United, his figures in terms of defensive responsibilities there was never a problem. It was going forward were the problem was, he never had the work rate to occupy defenders to either run in behind to get on the end of a cross/pass, or he never ran the channels to drag a defender away to create space for a teammate, he just coasted too much.

Most attackers can't do both though and they are asked to do so. Generally attackers that are expected to have high defensive workrate aren't expected to also have impressive outputs. I don't want him back and I have been disappointed by his lack of improvements in certain areas but people are going a bit too far and are being a bit nasty while also being unrealistic.

he has been completely useless. Its tough to be a central forward playing for this Sevilla team, because the front 3 all are fairly isolated. Nobody should expect miracles; thats down to how the team plays. The main problem isn't that his output is non-existent. The problem is how he plays. He is about as slow as Luuk de Jong, while everyone can push him off the ball. He seems to be exhausted just by being on the pitch.

Did you work for United mate?
For a few years, yeah - I had a couple of roles there. Nothing particularly interesting, and certainly of no influence, but it's obvious to anyone after a couple of months there what a shambles the place is.

Bingo. As a former employee and friend of current staff, I can confirm. Upper management is a cesspit of ego and incompetence.
i’ve run the numbers and this can only mean you’re ole. why did you ruin the cloob?

Martial should consider a loan move to France against lesser competition to get his confidence back up. Mentally he seems checked out and all the speculation regarding his negative attitude seems be verified with this Sevilla loan.

He is not 18 that he requires a loan move.

We need to get rid of him this summer, get a transfer fee for him.

With a new manager, we don't want mentally weak players, with poor attitude like Martial.

He should consider a transfer to France on less than half his current salary. Maybe then he'll find his hunger again

Ya not running around and making an effort isn’t a sign of confidence he has been like this for years . Just another overrated player with a large wage packet to go with a very large ego.

He will be like a new signing to replace Greenwood next season, save the Glazers shelling out on a new striker.
No he needs to head to Wales. He could tear it up in the Cymru Premier with Cefn Druids.
Would he still have the Balon D`or clause if he signed for TNS?

Hardly a surprise.. they’re a hostile no nonsense match going fanbase, he was always gonna get eaten up once they’d seen his nonchalant demeanour. Needs to play in a lesser league with a more vanilla fanbase.
Lesser league for sure. He has regressed so much that it's almost unbelievable.
