Probably one of the most competitive final days at the bottom of Division 1 in terms of number of teams involved.

Whoever is relegated will have the honour of going on the top 10 'highest points when relegated' table

Farewell Cudradro!

17 seasons 502 appearances 34 goals 46 assists and 10 Motms (all league) later you depart Newcastle. A club icon after a difficult early spell.

This leaves Martin Odegaard as the only player in my squad from when I arrived at Newcastle (excluding Rabiot who returned this season).

Going to announce it here before the final game of the season...

The next game will be my final game as Arsenal manager.

During last season, I voiced to Benito through DM that I didn't want to manage Arsenal any longer; my concerns were that I'd be tanking the longevity of the club due to my ambitions short term to win the league. Transfers are difficult to make as I don't want to lose too much youth at an ageing club, but I also want players to win the league.

He convinced me to at at least play the next season as he felt I could potentially win something, I Gave it my best this season but was just no match for a super United.

I intended to stay for 3 seasons in my pursuit of the title, but I feel the cost of this would be a huge loss for whoever next. I'd like to offer those decisions to someone else who intends to manage Arsenal for longer, plus I'm super keen to start my div 5 to div 1 campaign.

After the next game Im going to leave the club and apply for Bradford City.
I feel the club should first be offered to Benito before a public vote as it was between us for the vacancy anyways.

See you guys in the Cup games!

@Ravelation I agree with that - if Benito still wants it and the other members in the league agree. If there's opposition to it then we'll go back to the voting.

I think you would have had a good shot at the title next season regardless. My season was one of those lightning in a bottle moments - can't see me being anywhere near as dominant next season and during that the likes of Ramos and Eriksen will go down. Good luck at Bradford.

You've been busy in the market. Probably smart thing to do it now with some teams having exchange bait tied up in being loaned out *cough*

Benito has politely declined arsenal, so a vote it is.

Interesting. I thought you sold Busquets partly through approval by him. What is Arsenal's bank balance now? It was £265.2M before you took over.

I'll get the ball rolling on a vote - any current manager interested in Arsenal please post/PM AND submit application to me by 12pm on Saturday then voting will start after that.

I’d encouraged him to stay on the season as I genuinely think he was within a hairs breadth of a trophy this season and he’s done a great job getting Arsenal close to success but I’ve had no involvement in any transfer decisions.

I’m flattered to have been considered for the role but I think I’ve got to the point where I really like my Cardiff team and I’d be moving to Arsenal to try and win the league but that would leave Cardiff in a difficult position after a poor season.

It’s not perfect but I really want to see how Rüdiger, Tchouameni, Gakpo, Aouar, David and Sarr develop in the next 6 months (especially given all of them are looking certain movers this coming summer window) plus I’ve got youth players and the likes of Tomori and Koopmeiners due rises which will make my squad a bit better balanced age wise.

Arsenal is a great challenge for someone they’ve got a squad capable of winning something now but with so many 30+ players you’ll get one year to win the league before a big rebuild.

I really look forward to seeing the applications!

I wouldn't give up the team you've built either, most of them are young or coming into there prime, the only area the arsenal team look better than yours is upfront.

Yeah I don't blame you. In your position there would only be one club I'd leave Cardiff for.

Stands at 150.3 not quite sure where 110m has gone , keen to know how much the squad value has increased by?

Southend?
Although their squad is a wealth of riches (how does greeny keep up this endless stream of defender talent?) there's the danger of GAS* where you move to a top squad but don't feel that sense of attachment/enjoyment. I was originally going to have them in my post as a .5/second team but couldn't make my mind up. Manchester United has the name, some of the talent needed (thanks @CrackersJr) and also some room for improvement for a manager to put their touch on - lack of CBs for the future, another attacker needed, potential LB dilemma down the line and youth reforms (most of my current crop are stagnating)... which might negate that GAS but no guarantee.

*Gill Attachment Syndrome

Big night in Div 2 tonight.
Good luck. Time for revenge on Akash for Season 9?

Yeah the only jobs now that would really tempt me are:
  1. Manchester United
  2. Nottingham
  3. Everton
  4. Southend

Thank you to each and every one of you for being part of the league. Without you all, this wouldn't have lasted as long as it has done so far - here's to another 10 seasons if SM doesn't feck things up further.
