Erik ten Hag - Ajax Manager

Many were suggesting EtH would replace pep and steer clear of United

This is cracking news
He seemed like the perfect candidate to take over from Pep. Having worked together, it might've been a pretty seamless transition for them and nightmare news for everyone else.

Everything I see and hear about him suggests that, given time, he could be the right guy to push us to the front of the queue if and when Pep and Klopp move on.

That has to be the target now - build something special to take advantage of the inevitable turbulence. I'd settle for a younger, fitter team playing a more attractive, intense brand of football.

I hope it’s truly a new era, pep and Klopp will be gone sooner than later hopefully, if things click and ETH is allowed to work his magic, then we might be in business!

I’m positive and it’s a very different choice to our previous post Fergie.

I also feel it’s a signal that things are improving in terms of structure and development off the pitch.

Despite being pretty short, it actually sounds a lot like 'random cheap cheese that non-Dutch people for reasons beyond me get excited about'.

g like ch in loch; ou like in loud; da like 'duh' pronounced very short; add the throat conditon rasp to sound like a Gouda local

Chowda?

Aggressive defenders, nice! Finally Maguires training in Greece is gonna pay off.
Also rotatating players to drag opponents out of shape… he needs to first keep Maguire in shape. The amount of times he’s caught out of position which has cost us goals is unreal.

I really fecking hope so. Nice to have something to feel positive about so soon after the Everton debacle. I'm already starting to look forward to next season anyway.

With United it's become a case of waiting to see how it goes. I thought Van Gaal and Mourinho would get United firing again and it ended in tears.

A lot of work needs to be done on that squad. If he's given two or three years to develop things then he'll be a good appointment. United fans shouldn't expect miracles straight away though. I'd expect at least two summer windows are needed to get things where he wants them to be.

Close call there, almost losing our new manager to a club whose whole identify is based around pretending not to be an energy drink.

in all seriousness what’s your thoughts on him? Obviously you’re a fan

Forgive me for jumping on the news. We need some positivity
I think if someone can successfully implement a total football approach with possession, intensity, counterpressing, and positional control, that someone is worth their weight in gold as the games will be a pleasure to watch AND the team will be successful. Apart from that I don't know too much about him, really, but it's surely a great choice. He's a nutter of the sort of Pep, quite obviously, a freak.
