Such a shame how bad he’s become, one season with Ten Haag to try and find some form then we need to let him go. Have to stop holding onto underperforming players for too long.
I’d agree with this. Give him a fresh start and see if there’s any improvement. Can’t offer the next contract. More of the same next year and move him on. I think he’s physically gone, though. There no explosiveness anymore.
Agreed. Were we in a better place I'd be in favour of moving him on, but this squad is in tatters as it is.

Keep him as a backup next season and make him earn his place back. No improved contract until he's earned it also.

A player of his limited ability cannot afford to work so little off the ball. One of the worst spells of form I can recall from a Utd footballer. He's been shite for 18 months.

He's been pathetic all season, statistically in the worst 10% of players in the entire league. The real crime is how he's still getting minutes. Standards start at the board and the management. Sooner RR's not controlling the team the better.
Yup and in the top the 5% for wages. He’s legitimately been the worst first team player at Utd for the last year and a half. The absolute worst.

Can only play in a team that plays a low block, the moment he has time on the ball he's at best mid table.

Can we take the risk of having one more season with him? Hus value will drop irreparably I imagine of his form continues for one more season.

I don't need to hear any excuses about his off field issue's, be it his breakup with his gf or stresses of life or nagging injuries. He gets laid hundreds of thousands of pounds a week, the bare minimum should be to run your ass off. For most people playing the sport you love is the escape from off field stress. With him it seems like unless he's 100% happy he won't put the effort in. Get rid.

There was enough running. It's all just a second too late. He's not switched on at all. There's no intensity to him.

New managers confirmed and still not looking like he gives a feck. I don’t think ETH is going to tolerate loitering on the half way line as we’re defending either.

Has any player gone from being this bad to suddenly good again anyway? It almost seems like blind faith if you think ETH is going to solve the conundrum of him making look like he cares and play well again. Usually when a player is like that, they have to leave the club.

I genuinely want rid of him now, I don't even want to sell Maguire! Think he needs to lose captaincy and be a rotation player and removed from limelight but Rashford? no effort, doesn't care, doesn't listen.

I really don't understand it. Just how did he become this bad. He was always an up and down player but prior to his injury and the Euros he would put it match winning performances several times a season, and be generally one of our better performers. Now he is just a nothing player and a passenger in all aspects. He has no threat. He is a defensive liability. He doesn't press. He just exists. It is frankly terribly sad because whilst he was never going to be Mbappe, there was a decent player in there who was definitely good enough to be a starter.

Shouldn’t play again this season after that. Embarrassing.

Was better than usual I thought but still nowhere near good enough. Been a terrible season for him.

Lack of effort is a big red flag. If he survives this summer, won't last next season under ETH. Nothing can be accomplished without hard work.

Year and years of watching mediocrity being rewarded. All he has to do is string 5 decent performances next season and we'll hand him a contract worth 3x what hes actual worth. Why work hard for 38 games when only 5 will do. Unless we sign a winger who hits the ground running he knows he will get game time as we are very light up top

Exactly.

There's a war in Ukraine that frankly could escalate any second.

We've been in a once in a century pandemic and all the anxiety that that has caused not to mention all the 1001 other things that crop up in our lives.

Football, to me, is about entertainment. If we lose then we lose but show some passion for the shirt. Those fans are paying their wages. He needs to think about that for a few moments.

a 37 yo Ronaldo was running like a mad dog all game, Rashford has no excuses for his lack of effort
Oh yeah no doubt. I just think even the embarrassingly few times he decided to make a sprint, he was really treading water. I know your legs feel heavy when you’re all up in your head but it just looked odd to me.

Shit because of Ronaldo, or because Sancho earns more, or because of Rangnick, can’t remember which

Why?
Just get rid of the useless passenger

I don't understand the hesitation he's atrocious.
He's not Messi in a slumber waiting to become world class when a new manager might make him feel better

He's a player that was overrated from day dot that even if he does find form will just return to being miles below the level of talent and mentality that a side needs to be title contenders

He's had countless opportunities to be somewhat useful.

I see no reason to keep hoping the next talisman is in him.

It isn't.

He's done physically and mentally, his head is completely out of the game.

If he gets a new contract, it will be the scam of the century.

How do you play in front on 75,000 people and millions at home and give so little feck......that would be my first question if I was ETH having a zoom meeting with him.

His Transfermkt value seems to have risen recently. It was 65ish million a couple of weeks ago, now it’s 70.

I suspect tonight's "performance" hasn't been factored in yet, but he's currently 279th out of 294 players in the entire league who've played over 400 minutes according to whoscored. We'd be better off playing most attackers from Burnley or Norwich instead of him

Crazy. He almost makes old Rooney and Sanchez look like young Rooney and Sanchez

He was the only one walking when Chelsea created their goal. Some of the other players were at least jogging. He is stealing a living. Someone from CAF would make a much better effort.

This match just sealed the deal for me. One of the worst footballers I have seen. Period. His ability was average, now is shit. But that doesn't matter. Many have gone down that path. What really does my head in is his complete and utter lack of effort made significantly worse by the fact he is playing for what is supposedly his "boyhood club" and all that. That is unacceptable. He knows many fans have a soft spot for him and his place in this club is guaranteed so he is abusing this to the absolute maximum.

Maybe the level of the PL is just to high for his physical and mental condition.
I would welcome him with open arms at Grasshopper Club Zurich. I'm sure he would be an asset in the Swiss League for my local team.

On a more serious note....his effort is a disgrace. he's lucky to get one more change under ETH. But I feel the story was to good to end it like this without giving him one more season
finally under a progressive/modern manager. If he isn't up to the task next season, time to sell. (then again, see above ;) )
