You don't see it often because it's pointless. It really is that simple. There are absolutely no footballing benefits from it except from winding up your opponent.
Neymar does the same thing too, it is still as pointless, no matter where it's done. Fact is it's only done when the player has acres of space, otherwise no one attempts it
Argument: anyone can do it. It's pointless.
Evidence: Neymar does it too.
But anyone could it if they wanted to.

Strong.

In football, winding up your opponent by using a footballing skill no less is pointless??? WOW. Who are you really, brother?

That's what I mean. That's the only use it's got basically, otherwise it's not often used.

Nice skill but generally pointless.
You guys must be so fun to go to a game with...

It's entertaining, it gets the crowd engaged, this is why people go to football games, to get entertained and to have a good time.

Loved that bit. Didn't know he had it in him.

Pickford is a clown. Can't believe he starts for england.

Get in the park with a mate to video it, man.
Meaningless that. I'm a terrible cook but if I go to a restaurant and the food is shite, I can still point it out.

He's a top footballer. I'd imagine most goalies in the PL could do this under no pressure let alone a wide forward. I definitely couldn't though.

This was brilliant in fairness. You'd think the keeper who put in shambolic performances against Liverpool in the past would just try to do his job quietly but no.

I never denied that it entertains the crowd. Just simply that from a footballing perspective, it serves no use on the pitch. Liverpool fans cannot take any sort analysis of their players that ain't pure worshipping it seems.

Here is an example of a skill that's entertaining and useful at the same time.

Has nothing to do with it, because it indeed doesn’t have a purpose other than entertainment, but that’s what football is partly about. “Serves no purpose” is just a sour reaction to a nice moment, that’s all.

See the clip I posted and look at the difference in terms of situation. If you still don't get it then there is nothing left for me to say. Nothing beats entertainment when it's applied for a purpose otherwise I may as well as just watch freestylers on youtube

Luiz is such a brilliant, confident player . He’s got explosiveness and is mustard in the technical aspects of the game. He is a star in the making.

What a signing Liverpool has done here, his last 6 months for Porto were unreal, I doubted he would adapt so fast to Liverpool, but it's cristal clear he will be a protagonist for them. Last Copa America after Messi and Neymar he was the best player on that competition also. Great great player.

We could’ve signed him and we’d be lucky to get half of his current level. It’s not just about individual quality, it’s got a lot to do with the system, culture, morale, momentum etc.

Liverpool could re-sign 2011 Stewart Downing and turn him into a player right now.

Nope. Diaz is talented, of course under Klopp his quality is maximised, but he is really a very good player. Basically he is more talented than Grealish and Liverpool payed what, half the fee City paid to Villa?

English players are very over priced for no reason.

it’s crazy how much better luis Diaz is then Grealish and he went for under half of what City played.

I’m not saying he isn’t, he’s clearly a very good player. My point was though that we could sign Diaz and Liverpool could sign Rashford and they’d get him playing. We’d hinder him a bit I think.

Wouldn't say that, there's the Premier League "tax" regardless of nationality. One thing I am sure, on natural talent Diaz is better than Grealish, who will finish with a better carrer remains to be seen.

@2 man midfield Oh I agree with you on that point, let's see if under Ten Haag things improve. Again.

Not the current version of Rashford. Rashford prior to that back injury would've actually been a good fit for Liverpool

I disagree.

Look at the monstrous numbers Bruno put in when he first joined. Only now has his form really dropped.

I get what you mean though, the fact United are so poor will always affect performance but I think he would still show his class.

Interestingly he's not exactly a Porto youth project. Joined them in 2019 at the age of approx. 22. Now 25 years old, so essentially entering prime years.

Look at Sancho who went for 100M but ya EPL tax in general is what causes the price

You're right. More and more in football it's clear that players are at their best playing a key role in a well oiled machine, and football is most watchable when there's still a little room for improv and magic from a few extra talented players(Liverpool do this better than City who are brilliantly drilled to the point of robotic). I've no doubt that rashford would do far better at Liverpool than diaz would do here, but still think klopp would want to upgrade on rashford after a season

Rashford isn’t too far off from Stewart downing. In fact what downing and young did at Villa is better then anything Rashford has ever done at United. I highly doubt Rashford would succeed at Liverpool.

Yep, but he already had 2 great seasons for Dortmund, a Bundesliga club, Diaz had 6 great months for Porto, not his fault must be said, Conceição should have noted 1 year before what player Diaz really was, you cannot expect clubs from Portugal, Netherlands, Belgium, etc, to sell clubs at the same price as top 5 leagues in Europe, tha's how the market works.

On the Rashford point I don't agree with you at all.

Ffs. Rashford was actually quality in 19/20 and had spurts in 20/21 (along with excellent productivity) that surpassed anything those guys did. Rashfords peak level that he did sustain for a while was something like Mane level. Saying Downing is ridiculous.

Nowhere near Mane, but yes Downing is ridiculous.

There is a reason: they mostly play in the Premier League. The vast majority of English clubs do not need to sell, so they can demand whatever price they want. It is the same with all Premier League players, though. Diaz in the Premier League would be 40 or 50million if he played for a lower club.
