This day just keeps getting better.

Can't believe he stayed this long.

Actually I can..

As others have said, he should have moved on years ago. The fact we didn't or couldn't sell him after his loan last year was outrageous really. Some good moments and a few key goals but was never really at the required level or the right type of personality. Seems to have been the source of the leaks too so I won't miss that.

Under Fergie, Lingard would have been sold to Sunderland many years ago. Still, better late than never.

At some point he was a **** hero who scored in the big games such as cup finals. In the end it went from good to bad to worse. Some good memories still. Hopefully he´ll have a good career elsewhere.

I'm probably happiest because it means half of you will stop moaning about him.
Sorry to rain on your parade but you know as well as I do that the moaning will turn to gloating the minute he has a rough patch for his new club. We're not through with him, the tone just changed a bit!

He’s a good player who probably should’ve left after his loan to West Ham, interesting to see where he goes next.

Wanted him go for ages. But can't really cheer up when it finally happens.

Hopefully he'll have good career. Don't be too great, but a good one.

You know. Seeing as how West Ham almost pipped us for the Europa league, not selling Lingard to them was while small time, on hindsight the right call I think.

United should issue a special edition of Jlingz shirt meant to be used to wipe your arse with

Should very obviously have been sold immediately after his West Ham loan - another fantastic decision taken by Woodward and Judge, which has probably cost the club about £30m.

Still, another piece of dead wood finally shifted, which has to be a good thing.

Whoever wishes Martial to leave, he will be an important player next season.

Looked a good player when he first broke into the team. Won us the FA Cup with an absolute worldie and scored a belter in community shield too. Faded badly after that but he at least achieved something with/for us.

Shame it didn't work out for him but after his behaviour/character over the last few seasons I can't even be arsed to wish him well. Great news for the club though, between him Pogba, Matic and Cavani alone we're up 31.4m a season that would have been spent on wages for that lot.

Seems like a good bloke, but not much of a footballer for what was required.
