There's only one United!
How come LVG did not start FDJ the last Holland game?
Is he not good enough for him ?

It's a bit arrogant from Manchester United to brief Laurie Whitwell (of all people!) they think they have got De Jong in the bag. And the player wants to come. Let's see if Barcelona or De Jong give United the slap down. Because all United fans on Twitter and social media are going crazy and celebrating now think we are signing De Jong now.. Barcelona or De Jong will be asked about this surely as it's a massive update.

We will know very quickly if this is doable. But it'll be embarrassing if United spend all summer on this deal and don't sign him. Because they have briefed Laurie Whitwell they are focused on De Jong they better get it over the line otherwise the anger fron the fans WILL overspill. After coming off our worst Premier League season ever and other teams have already signed players.. the fanbase are desperate for some positivity.. a signing ANY signing even a right-back or Eriksen

United better get this done now. Or they risk a toxic atmosphere at Old Trafford from the first match.
You couldn’t brief a brief case lad.

Wind your neck in.

I normally never do this but was fecking bored had an early idea for a song for the cnut should he arrive.

To the tune of Hey Frankie by Sister Sledge.

Feel free to add or edit.

Hey
Frenkie - do you remember Donny?
Frenkie, do you remember? Do you remember Donny? Frenkie
You watched him on the telly
When he sat on the bench or in the stand
You looked into his sad eyes
And you said to yourself we coulda have been grand
Hey
Frenkie - do you remember Donny?

It's a good effort, and I'mma let you finish, but @Annihilate Now! had one of the best player songs of all time.

We should all be pumped about this. He’s a more talented version of Carrick, and a player that suits our new manager’s style perfectly.

was it positive?
The content of the tweet in question below.

Manchester United and Barcelona remain locked in talks, and are ‘confident’ to reach a compromise. #MUFC would like to agree a deal shortly after the Nations League finishes. https://t.co/q2dh4QhIwL

The volume is saying he wants the move is pretty intense now and from good sources

Something has certainly happened today

If the player has agreed terms, why would we need to wait for the Nations League to finish in order to agree a deal?

Confirm a deal and sign papers sure, but agree a deal with Barca?

“Frenkie” - what the hell are the Dutch on?

what happened to good old “Frank”?
The Frank in Frank Rijkaard was already pronounced "Frenk" anyway

Also funnily enough Overmars has a son named Frenkie as well, and Danny Blind has a ... daughter named Frenkie

There's not a cat in hells chance he'd even consider us but for Erik you'd imagine. Highly doubt had we opted for Poch he'd have been willing to come to us this summer with no CL football.

Having players that want to play for our new manager is definitely a huge plus. Let's hope they get it signed sealed and delivered.

I still think we need a nasty no nonsense DM though.
Having ten Hag who has a good reputation across Europe is huge and you're right, likely the only reason we're in a position to sign a player like De Jong.

Would you ever have imagined Liverpool signing a player like Thiago 6 or 7 years ago? Not a chance. The Klopp factor along with their success has been a huge factor in their success. Mane has mentioned repeatedly that while United were interested in him, he was intrigued by Klopp by and his project. I am certain ten Hag will have the same impact here with players ignoring the lack of champions league football to be part of a project to bring United back to the top. This potentially a very exciting signing and hopefully a few more to come.

I just can't see this happening so I can't get remotely excited for it at all. I'm a huge transfer muppet but I just can't get on board for this. De Jong does not sound fussed to leave at all. Even if Barca had to sell him, I can't see him not going to a CL club.
Posted this on Tuesday.

I’ve made a U-Turn. I’m all aboard the muppet train now

I wouldn't trust that information mate. I only posted it due to 'the Religion' being curious about what was contained in the tweet in question.

Waiting for all the people that enjoy self loathing moaning about the haggling of the fee, when Barcelona are basically on the verge of going bust and in a very exploitable situation.
yes we keep hearing that but that doesn't mean they've turned into Poundland

Choo fecking choo

Fee's sensible too by the looks of it.

He will be a massive hit for us, can feel it in my gut. Just gotta give Ten Hag a little bit of time to work out the sideways zombie passing.

This will be our best signing of the window by a country mile if we pull this off. If you told me we would even have a chance of getting him a couple months ago I would’ve asked you where you buy your LSD from.
Have you not learnt anything my internet pal?

Let's see if they sign and if they actually play well before rating anyone like that!!

While I’m apprehensive about signing a player after his big move (again) from another huge club, in this case he is 25 so you could only hope and assume we would be getting him at the peak of his powers, and not for a twilight pay day like many of the rogues we’ve signed from big clubs in recent years.

I was thoroughly excited prior to signing Sancho but this is on another level. Can’t believe Frenkie fecking de Jong will be signing for us. Brilliant player

Barca are extremely stupid fools to sell him in my opinion. There are loads of players in their squad they could sell before him. Their loss is our gain

He’s the chosen one! He’ll bring the balance to ETH’s tactics and also balance out all of our failure signings.
