New Sandler movie just dropped at Netflix and I gotta say it's pretty amazing.
I'm a sucker for a decent sport movie and this one is very good. Lots of NBA stars cameo and the basketball scenes are pretty good.
Sandler again excellent in a more serious role. He really should just ditch the full comedy persona and make these kind of movies.
The biggest surprise though was the other lead who played the rising star is NBA player Juancho Hernangomez who never act before. He looks so natural and good in his scenes

I enjoyed it, there was some cool NBA cameos and Queen Latifah is in it.

Watched it last night and really enjoyed it. It’s pretty cheesy in parts but is overall the right kind off funny/serious to make it a worthwhile watch. Very enjoyable.

The other serious one he did, something gems, was bloody awful.
Uncut Gems. Film overall was shit, but I thought he was very good in it.

He's certainly lapping up his 300 film Netflix deal here. Will give this a go as I've heard nothing but good things about it

Netflix are really out of line paying him as much money as they have to make terrible films then raising the subscription fee to pay for it.

I had heard a few saying it was not a good movie so went into it with low expectations but really enjoyed Uncut Gems. Probably the only time ive ever liked an Adam Sandler movie

I appreciate Uncut Gems as a film, but I'd never watch it again.

This was... fine, I think Netflix was perfect for it. It's a perfectly serviceable way to spend two hours but I probably would've been a bit miffed if I'd went to the cinema to see it. Some cool cameos, though.

I actually liked it. Was not at all expecting to like it. The way the montages were shot was really good and the fact they hired real NBA players kinda helped retain some authenticity.

The hubie Halloween thing and the cruise thing with Aniston were both fun watches.

I agree with the uncut gems being shit. Just people shouting over each other all film. Proper dogshit.

Hustle was alright, nothing special though.

Juancho Hernangomez - sounds like something out of a satire comedy trying to take the piss out of a Mexican name?

I couldn’t stand Adam Sandler and any of his films but Uncut Gems and Hustle has completely turned me around. When he wants to act he does a really nice job so who knew his calling was in being a dramatic actor.

You remind me of my brother. I tease him that he only watches movies that has below 20% RT.

Its a by the numbers sports underdog movie, but enjoyable nonetheless. I like Sandler when he's not trying to be funny

Its a feel good movie no real depth but bang on the money for whats it’s trying to achieve.

Uncut gems was awful, he may aswell speak through a speaker when talking. He was doing the shouty stuff in this aswell thankfully not so much as it can get so irritating but maybe its just me.

ok film, the Rocky influences are strong in it, the underdog, set in Philly, the part where he is running up the street. Decent watch, predictable storyline, certainly watchable but some of the reviews in the press I'd read on it, were over the top in their praise.

It was good. For a guy who has seemingly never acted before, Hernangomez was pretty good.

They made him out to be a Giannis, Magic and Curry rolled into one though

Very entertaining movie if you’re an NBA fan, probably only an okayish one if you’re not.

I can't be the only one who loves Uncut Gems? Thought it was brilliant.
Yeah, it was great. Vastly superior to Hustle. Which is passable entertainment but nothing special. The big Spanish lad can’t act for shit. Which isn’t ideal considering he’s at the centre of everything. Plus it’s all incredibly predictable.

Adam Sandler is excellent in straight roles though. So watchable. Without him this movie would be kind of shite.

Anthony Edwards is excellent. The movie is OK, definitely watchable, and it's nice to see Sandler doing actually good work in recent years (around the usual shite obviously) with this, Uncut Gems and the Meyerowitz Stories.

Fun watch. The montages were done well and the basketball scenes were lots of fun to watch. Solid sports movie.

I enjoyed it.

Would have been nice to get more 'pay off' and actually see him play in the NBA rather than just a pre game warm up, but I suppose the whole point was the journey getting there.

Watched it last night and even though I'm not a basketball fan I thought it was really good.

Sandler is much more enjoyable as a down on his luck character than the arrogant type of role he played in his earlier more comedic roles like Big Daddy, Happy Gilmore and Mr Deeds.
