How are Chelsea more stable, they've just had a change of ownership and no-one can know how well it's gonna go. They don't have Roman bankrolling them anymore, allowing them to run on a loss. They are going to have to operate like a normal football club now and we'll see how that goes.
It's definitely an interesting future. Chelsea unquestionably have a better squad given the heafty summer investment under Frank and I'm sure they'll have money now to further bolster that. In the short term Chelsea look a strong prospect with greater chance for trophies within a 5 year window. For a lot of players this is critical.
This said even the 5 year window can quickly change. Expensive acquisitions like Lukaku flop and the dynamic starts changing. If we have a few better summers the dynamic can quickly change.
Man Utd have the commercial wealth to keep generating investment organically. It's hard for Chelsea to compete to the same degree.
Man Utd do have to keep a mind on the longer future. Liverpool have shown you can be shite for a long period and still not greatly impact their stature, but there is a lot of competition for the young fans coming through now.
This said most dads out there and any decent football fan will not respect those who support City, Newcastle or even Chelsea given the way their wealth has been created. This should have an influence on the current generation of football fans.
But a swing definitely will be happening. Any young fan has to be impressed by City. Great facilities, well organised, best in class approach. Proper footballers signing and not trying to rinse social media like we do. Plenty of kids will choose City, whether they have a strong influence or not.
I just had a light bulb moment....the social media aspect is probably heavily focused on getting the young fans....! Can't be relevant on the pitch so be relevant off it!
