Have you ever been to Rome? It's absolutely beautiful.

From a footballing perspective however you are right. I cant see him back in serie a.
He ain't going somewhere due to the beauty of it's City.... his legacy is number 1. It's Bayern(or well, CL) or staying at United.

People saying they are happy, where do you think the goals will come from next season?

Without Ronaldo we're in a lot of trouble and there's no way we can afford to replace him unless we cancel other deals like FDJ.
Idk about that, where did the goals come before Ronaldo ? In fact we scored more without Ronaldo the 2 seasons prior with the exact same front line minus Sancho.

This has probably been known internally for a while. I don‘t think today is the first the people at United have heard of it.

My guess is Mendes is trying to get a bidding war going, for all parties benefits. A buying team gets Ronaldo. Ronaldo gets a CL team. United hopefully get a good deal out of it due to the auction nature of it… maybe Mendes assists with finding a replacement for us. Which strikers/forwards are represented by Mendes?

Saying that, everything Alex Shaw tweeted is absolutely spot on and we can build a better team without him in the long term.
That's the point for me. Bringing him back was a mistake in the first place, but don't compound that by holding on for longer when there's a longer term plan to work towards which obviously he won't fit.

I hope his move out is concluded swiftly.

Just when the fan base was starting to feel positive about going into the next season... He pulls this crap.
Very pogbaish thing to do.
This could be a big positive though, providing United can properly replace him. That's obviously a big caveat, but Ronaldo leaving on its own is not a big deal. The fact that i don't trust this club to adequately replace him is. I think it would very much be a square peg in a round hole situation if he stayed in this ETH team.

We weren't so dependent on one scorer the season before he came back.

It's not missing Nunez I'm upset over, it's missing out on Alvarez in January when we tried hard.

Would've been in much better position to lose Ronaldo

The bit about his family and wanting out of Manchester is interesting.

If there is anything in that, I don't think he'll be off to Chelsea.

Only downside with this is that we don't have a replacement. We have other players capable of putting up the numbers, so him leaving will give more space to them.

If he is as ambitious as he makes himself out to be, he will lower his demands significantly to join a CL team. He is loaded already and got sponsors throwing money after him left and right.

Gutted, nobody within the club is able to fill his boots so hopefully, we can bring somebody in, I don't blame him seeing how bad we were last season and the lack of invesment this pre season

Remember how that was dangerous thing to say last year? What a shit transfer that was.
Instead he would be today in City and Haaland.....who knows.
He'd be winning the league with city. We'd be proper fecked with the mason thing and haaland still wouldn't come here.

You still don't get it.

Lacks a positional awareness, isn't a natural finisher, can't hold up a ball and isn't a good header of the ball. That's not very good for a number 9.
All things a proper coach would have had him doing had we not gone with the previous 2 coaches. Dusan Tadic was struggling to turn out for Southampton before EtH in midfield, I’d give Rashford [& others] a few games before judging them for performances under Jose’s lump ball & Vibes FC.

He may not be the guy, I have my own doubts but the guys had 20 goal seasons from the wing. This weird thing of acting as if Rashford lacks coordination enough to even tie his shoe laces is ridiculous, he last played as a striker consistently how many years ago?

I think for his own good he's better off on the left were he's got space to think and act
Last thing we need is Rashford ‘thinking’ in space.

Was great to see him back in his colours and shirt. But unfortunately we do not deserve him the way the club is at the moment. And he does not have the time to waste on a building season you buy him to win. End of

We should go for someone young someone who can lead the press and connect the team.

I wanted to see how creative ETH would get with his less than mobile striker.

If he wants to leave the club, ok, I get it, I’m not totally against the idea of him leaving the club again. However we as a football club have got a transfer budget that we plan to spend on a certain selection of players, if Ronaldo goes then we must buy a centre forward to replace him and we just don’t have the money this season to continue our plans and then buy an adequate replacement on top of that. That means that the funds raised from the sale of Ronaldo must contribute majorly to the acquisition of the striker which will probably be a lot, which then begs the question, which club has the money and desire to sign him from us?

HELLO
Our overall play is broken. Ronaldo helped to paper over that but we shouldn't worry about losing him if the underlying problems are being fixed.

People were prognosticating that this would happen the moment we didn't qualify for the CL. The mans ego has its own gravitational pull, there's no way he's gonna stick around and play in the EL. And yeah, no doubt the club knew this deep down. I think it's a positive thing him leaving. Providing we can replace him, that is.

It’s weird how this happened with both us and Juventus, but it absolutely isn’t his fault everybody else stopped scoring. Nope. Total coincidence.

Talk about us “not deserving Ronaldo” is hilarious. He can go feck himself, just as he always should.

United and Swiftly... good one

Sarcasm aside, its the kind of transfer that would / will drag out til deadline day. Ronnie likes the attention and drama so that's how it'll go.

I reckon PSG will take him... its the ideal place for him to line up with Messi... Marketing dream for them!

If he leaves for a decent transfer fee, maybe it is for the good. I didn't want to lose a player of such quality but a younger forward that suits ETH would be much better for our future.

This "legend" talk was already shallow and far-fetched but that should seal it. Was always a big mistake trying to bring him back but Sir Alex didn't want to see him go to City. He didn't make Juve or us better and has been a hindrance for the clubs he plays as his stats are more important than anything else.

I'm more than happy if it's true and definitely think it'd be a blessing in disguise. More than the big names, we need profiles that actually suit Ten Hag's system rather than trying too hard to fit players in that system. Find a ST that's willing to press, work hard for the team and we'll be good. Also his huge wage off the bill is a big bonus for us too.

Letting Ronaldo go does free us up in a tactical sense, if any of those positionally ambiguous forwards like Felix/Nkunku/Dybala are on our radar. I’d probably take one of those as a false 9 than line up with one of these average strikers that the market is filled with.
