He wants to extend his CL goal record by any means possible.

If Liverpool/City wanted him, he'd ditch United in an instant too.

He doesn't care about this club.
He's mad if that's the case. One thing with these legacy debates is people are biased. If you have a huge fanbase who loves you, you're better off than having a few more goals and a large fanbase that hates you.

He's unhappy because we didn't get into the Champions League and his ego is too big to play in the Europa. His fear of being caught by Messi has scared the life out of him.
That's it. That's the only reason.

He knew who the owners were before he joined.
I don't believe this. This is too simplistic and it is, IMO, not the only reason.

Other major reasons include, IMO, (A) the lack of ambition by the club in the window, (B) the bitter taste that emerged from last season and (C) his bonus being wiped out.

All 3 are incredibly valid points to be aggrieved by. We have been abysmal this window, the dressing room has been a mess for years and our standards have been in the gutter for years too now and Ronaldo, due to his marketability, is the one player whose bonus shouldn't have been wiped out.

I am far from being a Ronaldo fanboy, far from it. For me, his departure hurts because it just signifies how far we have fallen. It is tragic.

Where is this coming from?? People actually think Tuchel wouldnt want him     His wages are the only issue, most big clubs would want him, especially a strikerless chelsea. He will bang in at least as manygoals as last season, probably a lot more and might well carry them to the title.
If only there was a way to test this theory. Say, for example, if his camp let it be known he wanted out.

The delusions within the United fan base are something else, has to be said.
Looking at this forum, some wants 15m, some 40m, some wants kante lewa etc. They all need a reality check just like CR7 needs one.

People do not pay for liabilities

Ronaldo is a narcissist, he can't press and will put a heavy strain on any dressing room. However he's no liability. His brand name is worth in gold and he is still a very capable player. That's worth at least 20m.

I wouldn't want Kante tbh. Legs are the first to go and legs is what a DM rely upon. However we should ask for either a fee or at least Werner.

For what it's worth.

Anyway I'm fine with him leaving as he is too good for us unfortunately. I doubt he'd skip training. It's kind of pointless
Alright Rio, and you "forgot" about your drugs test. Keep away from "helping" United with transfers in future, cheers pal.

Right, I take it back. In terms of marketing he is indeed worth some money

Arsenal forum in 2012 when we signed RVP vibes.
What's so funny? Not saying he's CR7 level but a talented player, big, strong, explosive speed, good at carrying the ball. There's talent to work with and I'd be happier with that rather than c. £10m or whatever from Chelsea. We can still continue with other business and we'll have another option up front with minimal fuss.

Would be happy with a Broja swap as well, would rather Conor Gallagher but doubt they’ll take it.
Some people still think we can go from shite to great in one season for some reason.
Losing the 24 year old Ronaldo was a bummer, I just can’t be bothered with losing the 37 year old version who still thinks he can act like he’s too good for us or we’re beneath his greatness.

I don’t care about names, I just want to see us gradually developing into a well functioning team, and with a restless and drama queen Ronaldo in the side it will take that much longer, imo.

If you can say that with a straight face as an Arsenal fan that's incredible.
Not to tar everyone with the same brush, but some of your lot need to get their heads out of some 'legendary' arseholes.

Staying with the past and hoping for glory days is a terrible affliction, and it's been the case with your club for 10 years now. The first year they actually take some positive steps, and you have the best player and leader (damning in itself) throwing a strop.

Get rid. Quick.

Also, for all the idiots within our fanbase, and there are enough, we adjusted pretty well to being also rans. Maybe because the football remained good and there was always a sense of next season genuinely being our season before that disappeared in the wind circa 2016.

He's going to Chelsea isn't he.

I don't like it one bit but I'm accepting it. Our board should really sell abroad only but I think they want him gone now they have the opportunity.

I don't think we'll be opposed to Chelsea buying him. We just need to get rid of a problem for one and they might be the only option. But they sold us Mata and Matic when they'd done well there, you never know when we might want somebody they don't need. I didn't think they'd let Mata join when they did and many here didn't either, but it was decent of them to do so. It'd be different if it was City or Liverpool though.

Selling to Chelsea should not be an option at all. He's under contract, would be gifting them the player to take them into the title race.

Be fine with him going to Chelsea, someone else's problem would only take a couple of bad results and you can see the dressing room being fractured.

They are nowhere near Man City.

Maybe, but we're not in the title race so they'd be preferable to win it for us anyway

In all seriousness though, see what I just said in my last post. They might be the only option and worse than selling to Chelsea is us having to keep an unhappy Ronaldo.

He'll score goals but they'd have to sacrifice a bit in their style of play, I can live with that.

I'm coming round to that way of thinking but i would fell sick to my stomach if he won the league with them.
If they win the league, it will be in spite of him not because of him.

This is not prime Ronaldo. He is still a goal scoring machine but the whole team needs to work twice as hard to cover for his non-existent work rate. Add to this his constant need to play almost every game where in fact he is not fit to do this anymore.

What is the obsession with pressing? When have we ever pressed before? Certainly not during Ole's reign where we used to sit back, absorb and hit teams on the break. Neither Rashford, nor Greenwood or Martial pressed. Yet we use this stick to beat Ronaldo with. Manchester United has never been a pressing team.

Shocking at how United fans are egging Ronaldo to leave, that too to Chelsea. He was coming good toward the end of the season.

When you look at the "Replacements thread" and names like Yedder and Vardy and Bellotti are being mentioned...we're in trouble.

Rashford, Elanga and Martial are now set to be regular starters.

Instead of egging a player on to leave, maybe one should introspect as to how awful a state we're in right now.
I agree the names mooted are horrid, but Ronaldo is far from the answer. All the more so when he clearly doesn’t want to be here.

If he does not want to be at United, I don't care where he goes, including Chelsea.
Just let him go, and quickly.
I don't think it would work now if he did end up staying for any reason.

We need to prepare with the players who are going to be here next season.
Did not want him to come back, not bothered if he is going

This really isn't worth the emotional investment. He's throwing a strop, which is something we've seen him do since 2006. I don't have any animosity towards him, but the quicker we get rid the better because we have a rebuild to get on with here!

Also, the idea that this is a result of a lack of ambition from the club is amongst some of the most nonsensical stuff I've seen on this board. He just wants UCL football and we can't provide that.

Then Ronaldo on hes own won about 5 CL then?

Then hes is utterly and by far the greatest player the world has ever seen.

Oh and you are an fool. If you think he plays for himself, what about Greenwood, Rashford and Martial? They are even worse. And they arent really that good either. Atleast for what is expected for a United player.
Go cry into your Cristiano duvet my friend, he's a dick.

I haven't seen and heard he has said he want to leave because the lacking of ambition to strenght the team and squad.
But this is thing you keep within your team/club, manager and teammates.

And last of all. Rome doesn't build during a day. A champion of premier league or ch.league will take years to build. PATIENCE is the key......Klopp and Pep took some years to get a winning and dominating team.
Erik Ten Hag has just been in the United head coach job for few weeks. Players need to be patient. Same as fans or owner.
United appointed Ten Hag at the end of Ajax season. He didn't has the chance to analized and take a closer look with his own eyes. Observing and rate them close up. And it takes times to get to know his new players.
And after analyzing his squad. Then he will knows where he want to strenght the team most. Where United weakness and problem is. And solve it.

So again. If Ronaldo has said it publicly or just the paper. If he has said it. Ronaldo is the most experience player in the game and with United. Building a winning and dominating team. Take a lot of time.

Be calm and be patience. Trust your manager and your leader. Until you can feel and experience he is not the right man. But only few weeks in his new job. One of the most demand job in football. And with only few men with him in the coach staff team. Give Ten Hag time;)...to build a winning and dominating team.

To be honest he'll probably be more of a hindrance for them. And if not, look at the positives. Better Chelsea than Liverpool or city. We're better off moving on IMO.

Back your club when it's trying to effect change as opposed to falling to the threats of a prima donna.

The sooner Ronaldo is out the door the better for you guys.
Except I am backing the club, or at least, I'm backing Ten Hag, our coach who wanted to work with Ronaldo and was eager to place him in his plans.

He’s leaving because he wants to make sure he finishes ahead of Messi in Champions League goals. His personal glory trumps any sense of loyalty. He could go anywhere he wanted if he reduced his wage demands, but his ego won’t allow it.

You do know that Mendes was offering Ronaldo around last season but had no buyers. City were vaguely considering. He is a has been. Will score goals but will also make the team worse. Plus his gigantic ego, petulance and selfishness can be detrimental in the dressing room.

Just a few short weeks and we’ll finally be rid of this lot. It’s going to be glorious being United again rather than the latest version of FC Ronaldo.
