Fair play for Pepper getting his own back. It was condiment to be

Superb performance by Lancashire this. I was certain they’d lose with all of the internationals missing, but fair play the bowlers all played their part and now Salt, Croft and Vilas have batted a belter.

Gleeson should definitely be available for finals day, really interesting to see what the ECB do with the players in the 50 over squad.

Was there. Yeah smashed them, with half a team too.

Doubt we'll have Buttler but maybe the others?

I don’t really support any of the county teams but I think the ECB should release all England players whose team are playing on finals day. They’ll get more out of playing in a knockout situation than from another random ODI.

Yeah, I'm very much England-first but feels very harsh on the counties to deny them of their best players.

I'm not even thinking of it from a county perspective. I think the likes of Brook would be better placed helping to lead Yorkshire to a win in on finals day with the pressure on him than play in an ODI in the long run for England. I think I saw Shastri say that he doesn't even remember any T20I that he's been involved in that wasn't related to the world cup.

Or, don't have this issue in the first place by organising such a packed schedule - then they would have all been available anyway... Why have quarters and finals day sandwiched between an England vs India T20/ODI series?

The England games couldn't have been a week later? If not, the T20 blast should have finished a week earlier, instead of a set of two random 4-day games plonked in the middle.

There’s not only this, finals day should be a massive showcase event where cricket puts its best foot forward to attract the next generation. Half of the best players missing isn’t doing that, it’s typical ECB cutting off their nose to spite their face that I might understand if it was a 50 over World Cup in 3 months, but it’s not.

The ECB have never really given enough support to the Blast but it's only going to get worse now they have the Hundred. It shouldn't be that difficult to leave a spare 4 days and weekend in the calendar to ensure that all England players are available, games can be shown on TV and that teams actually play their home QF on their own ground. Yet every season it gets worse.

Also don't see why Sky have Harry Gurney commentating when he's been vocal in calling for the Blast to be scrapped.

Yep, feels like they're trying to devalue the Blast to push people towards the Hundred doesn't it.

Exactly, undermine it slowly and then eventually it'll be easier to get rid of and people won't be so bothered.

I wouldn't be surprised if those two overlap at some point next season with the excuse of wanting the 50 over comp to have priority with the World Cup at the end of the year.

This England T20 team looks weak next to India’s. Opening the bowling with Willey and Curran next to Bhuvi and Bumrah ffs.

Double wicket maiden (Kohli and Pant at that) on international debut. What a start.
Yeah, he's great.

Great story too. From Lancashire but never got picked up as a kid, was plucked from league cricket by Northants and then signed by Lancs a few years ago.

He's 34 but can hopefully stick around for a while. Won't have many miles on the clock will he?!

I’m not sure he’ll play much for England but domestically he definitely can, especially as a white ball specialist.

like you say a great story. Missed so much through injury too.

Jason Roy has been awful in the field.

Looking forward to this England innings and to see if India bowl as well as the other night!

I'd love it if he signed a red-ball contract for us too. With Mahmood apparently leaving he'd be a great replacement

Have england rested any of their bowlers. Don't remember anyone bar Archer and Rashid missing? Their bowling attack looks weak
