Chelsea have changed ownership and have bought Sterling and Koulibaly We have signed a 13m prospect as a LB. The season starts pretty soon, setting Ten Hag up for failure.
I don’t believe it’s hysteria to say we are already miles behind Chelsea, Citeh, Pool and Spurs in the transfer window - after finishing miles behind at the end of the season. Sorry, but I don’t care who we’re currently taking to, it’s nowhere near good enough.
Oh calm down for fecks sake

Is it worth having a thread or a pinned post with the top 6’s Ins/Outs as the window develops? Could do the whole league if wanted

I wonder if the idea is to announce everyone at once, then say "that's our business concluded" (which harks back to the days of David Gill - the toad who went to chelsea and "stole" my old club's home ground to use as their training complex!).

It would be quite exciting that way... but hey, I'm just a moaner

We've paid alot of money for Frenkie and Lisandro IMO. More than we should have.

But all in all, so far its been a very good window. We have addressed the midfield issue wonderfully (assuming FDJ sorts out his wage issues with barca). Especially if Lisandro Martinez can play in midfield (if thats the plan).

If our window ends up being De Jong, Eriksson, Martinez and Malacia… lots of investment…. Hard to criticise.

But a 10, where we are stacked

An 8, where we are stacked

An LB, where we are stacked

And a CB, where we are stacked…

No DM, No RB, No ST, No RW…..

I’m hope there is a plan, but I can’t get my head around it at all

this would certainly help with the rebuild if there is any truth to it.....sorry but you take the 30m and he goes off and makes stupid money for his age
No one gonna address the fact that he’s allegedly waiting on 250m for 2 seasons fun in the sun?

I think the plan is;

no DM. This is a fan want rather than an ETH want

no RB. I think we will wait and see how Dalot and possibly Laird do this season

ST.. perhaps one is bought if Ronaldo leaves. We can already see from preseason that Hag is building a relationship with Martial

RW.. perhaps late window. If not, plenty of options for there to try

you've got to believe if there is any truth to this, he's going to be off and who could actually blame him
For that money he should expect being their plaything, he will probably have to pretend to to be a seat so that some rich oil baron can sit on him

FDJ is going to be the 6/8 that ETH wants simply b/c of his ability in possession and helping to bring the ball out of the back....no pure DM but we have able bodies to throw in there in scott, fred and Donny to play alongside hopefully FDJ and Bruno.

i think Dalot is absolutely the type of RB that he likes....not so much AWB so let's see what he does but clearly RB wasn't and isn't a priority for him

we have a RW in Sancho, that is why he was bought to play that position. I still would like to see us go after Antony to give us an extra body to play RW instead of Elanga or another kid who isn't ready.

Striker is the odd one because of the Ronaldo situation and Martial being a complete enigma....also neither really fits the pressing style that ETH employs

but what striker options are out there? Moussa Dembele from Lyon? Davie from Lille? Victor Osimhen? Lewandowski?

Malacia, Martinez, Eriksen and De Jong, would be a decent summer, but nowhere near enough.

We still need a RB, CDM and at least 1 forward, and that's with Ronaldo staying.

If he goes, we will need 2, and apart from Antony (Who now, won't happen), we haven't been linked with anybody really.

So by next weekend (July 22nd) I'd expect we get all of Eriksen, Martinez and de Jong announced? Would be excellent to have them all in with 2 weeks of pre season to go still. We'd have a "complete" group for the defence and midfield, and would just be lacking something in attack, but I would guess that won't change if Ronaldo stays. Would be very happy with them 4 as a summer though. Clear out some unnecessary players like Jones/Bailly/Telles/van de Beek so we don't have unhappy players over the season based on just obvious lack of minutes.

Enough for what though? Its definitely enough to take a huge step forward with our rebuild and seriously compete for 3rd. You can't do it all in one summer. Depth wise we would be good everywhere apart from the attack, and even then, we'd have a group of 5 of Rashford, Sancho, martial, Ronaldo and elanga, along with Bruno/Eriksen to possibly rotate wide depending on system. If Ronaldo goes, of course an attacker is needed, but we are well on our way with just the 4 signings. De Jong is the key for me, bringing in a world class deep midfielder who is key for ten hag is the transformative signing we need to take a huge step forward and really accelerate the process. Then next summer re-evaluate the other needs to see what is required at that point.

Yeah think we only go for RB/RW even though there is need for both, could go for RWB which gives us best of both worlds

We needed an incredible summer as a response to that catastrophic season we just had, instead it seems we're only getting a decent one. Not good enough. I hope we don't have to put up with these owners for much longer.

Hoping with the Eriksen delay and the other two transfers seemingly progressing well, we’re aiming for a triple unveiling. I’d certainly take it.

I think Eriksen is a definitive starter. Proven in the PL and a far better footballer than 80 percent of our squad. Set piece specialist as well. A no-brainer.

10 goals in ten games could also get you zero points.
Whereas ten goals in one game is near enough guaranteed to get you three points.
Because you said that, we're going to lose 11-10 this season.

I get what you're saying but I still think that scoring in more games is more important than scoring as many goals in far less games because of the higher probability it will get you more points and the bigger impact it has.

I understand you there. Sincerely hope we never lose 11-10, but man what a game that would be

It might be time for our geniuses to ask FDJ if he actually wants to join us... because if not, we don't have weeks to spare on another cock up. Lots of reports that the guy simply doesn't want to leave. And I agree with those saying we still need a striker (even if ronaldo stays)

if reports are to be believed then FDJ absolutely doesnt want to Join United.... or is it that he doesnt want to leave Barca?

2 transfers done, Lisandro almost done and Frenkie is on hold.
What now for muppets? No rumours about new striker, rw (except Antony) and right back.
Give me thread to camp,ffs.

I hope FDJ happens, but if I'm honest, I'd be happy with Martinez, Malacia and Eriksen and playing better football this year. If we do get FDJ, I'll be extremely happy with our business.

Dumfries n Frenkie and that's a hell of a window for us.

The tantrum throwing on here on the 7th June was truly embarrassing.
