Gerrard finished 3rd in the Ballon D'or in his best season. Suarez never finished in the top 3 even at Barcelona. And in 2013/14 Suarez finished 19th. So clearly actual football people, unlike you, clearly have Gerrard at his best as better than 2013/14 Suarez.

Now if you want to talk about Suarez at Barcelona then fair enough because he was different gravy.
No chance. Suarez went to become an all time great CF but even in that season got Liverpool he was comfortably better than Gerrard ever was.

He looks absolutely rubbish from what we can see so far ....... :) It's lovely !

Unfortunately the poor lad will probably soon find out he's severely asthmatic which will force him to re-evaluate his training methods and force him to up his game.
What’s with all this asthma medicine kicking in. It doesn’t transform a footballer. A donkey on asthma medicine will only become a fitter and faster donkey. His skills will not improve an iota. He will remain a donkey imo.

True but a fit donkey is still a more effective donkey than an unfit donkey.

Agreed, he was unbelievable in that 13/14 season. I have fond memories of winding up my Scouse classmates about him only scoring against relegation fodder, in reality I knew he was a monster of a player.

Anything anti-Dipper
Can't write him off yet as he is only playing pre-season games and he is still relatively young. However, his poor touch video would worry me, if I were a Dipper, as his poorest moments come when people get tight to him and don't give him space. That really doesn't bode well for the PL.

Not to mention the following are all greater Liverpool players Dalglish, Gerrard, Salah, Rush, Barnes, Hansen, Keegan and Mane.
They have achieved more. But the only one with a claim to have performed better is Dalglish, maybe Gerrard on a good day. In terms of highest level of performance Suarez is up there with anyone we've had.

If Andy Carroll had pace, athleticism and relentless drive and work rate and wasn't so much injury prone he would have been a top player.

Nunez has those it seems. Doesn't have Carroll's indomitable physique so swings and roundabouts.

The main reason Carroll failed was lacklustre application and injuries. Technically he was quite decent. Had a lot in common with balotelli actually even if the latter was much more talented.

I think he will come good but that price tag is a massive noose around his neck.

Like Lukaku it looks like Nunez has a similar thin-skin on social media.

How do you know he has any of this? Based off of one season?
Seems you’re just quoting phrase here with most anything behind it

He’s struggling in pre season. It’s only going to get harder in the PL.

What would be a bigger concern is he’s struggling with tap ins. That’s without an opponent involved!

And it's only a-bit of piss taking during pre-season
Nunez really isn’t understanding British football banter. He’s actually taking the bait and reacting to it. Which leads to more cock ups followed by more ridiculing. It’s glorious.

THIS

Liverpool have had some success in recent years so part of that comes added scrutiny. United players get it (Pogba) City players get it (Grealish) and this year Haaland and Nunez is going to get it!

Can he handle it...time will tell. But its going to be interesting watching City and Liverpool this season because unlike previous years there attack has actually changed a little and it might not be for the better.

Not getting involved in the argument itself but that's a pretty shit measurement to compare players on.
Interesting. Thoughts on Scholes never achieving a single Balon D’Or vote in his entire career?
Suarez Balon D'or finishes hes not far off.

Ballon D'or is a load of BS based on who won the CL and World Cup. Liverpool fluked the CL and Gerrard was their best player so he finished third. He was never 3rd best player in the world. Note that SAF rated Gerrard below the other top midfielders in the PL in his book. I take it you rate SAF's opinion?

'Ballon D'or clearly doesn't mean anything because Michael Laudrup has never won it' - Pep Guardiola

Michael Owen has won the Ballon D'or but Thierry Henry never did. It's clearly a BS award.

That was at Barcelona. I said the Liverpool version finished 19th, which is clearly miles away from Gerrard when he finished 3rd.
He was basically their Ronaldo. Ability wise I'd have him over Rush and Dalglish easily, but he spent his best years away from the club.

This.

It's an unfair popular contest. As we have seen with pundits and sport journalism, many of them may even watch less games than us, armchair experts. Their vote can be very short sighted result oriented.

I don't claim to know. I said it seems. I base it off the eye test of his relentless performance against us and some article from one of the top tier Liverpool journos that it Nunez work-rate and drive to improve was a major factor in his recruitment.

I know Carroll didn't have that based on the 18 months he spent with us. As weird as it was, he'd rather have stayed at Newcastle.

The ones he took after that were impeccable.
All the more bizarre that a Liverpool fan would crop that one miss and use it to deflect away from Nunez. They're genuinely rattled about this
