That's crazy money for a backup striker.

I assume they're not playing him + Antonio both at the same time. Moyes basically ran Antonio into the ground last year and I expect Broja to act as cover and not actually start each game.

We might just be the dumbest club in the league. Likely losing our two biggest youth prospects in the same summer.

Idiotic business.

We should hijack that if Ronaldo wants to leave
In the same way I couldn’t see you selling us Ronaldo, I don’t think we’d entertain selling you Broja. I do think he’d be fantastic in a Ten Hag team, though. Which is why it won’t happen.

I’m kinda depressed that we’re selling him. He’s got the tools to become an exceptional striker. :(

He certainly does! Really impressed by him last season. He’s gonna cost big money at some point. Agreed by the way, I think he’d be fantastic in a Ten Hag team

Antonio is 32, it's a mix of gearing for the future and someone that can rotate with Antonio. Smart signing from WH.

Oh I didn't realize that. Is Broja good enough to start for West Ham eventually? From what I saw of him at Southampton, it's a massive drop in level from Antonio -> Broja. Not that they're the same sort of player, just speaking of their general ability.

You guys are being serious? I watched him several times (mostly because of FPL reasons) last year and he looked pretty average in most games. He's reasonably quick and he seems like a decent finisher but he's not even close to someone like Abraham who I thought was very average.

He was a monster at youth level but he did indeed have very mixed time at Southampton. He’s still a kid, though. As I said, the tools are there but he needs the right situation.

And as someone who watched every minute of Tammy in a Chelsea shirt I can tell you that Broja has a LOT more to his game than he does. Tammy is not much more than a penalty box poacher.

Stade Rennais have been unable to close the deal on Min-Jae. It is not totally dead but the [club] leaders have switched to new [transfer] profiles on Monday.
Translation:
  • Both Rennes and Napoli paid Min-jae's release clause.
    • However, Min-jae decided against joining both clubs despite verbally agreeing to personal terms with Rennes.
  • At least one Premier League club has entered the race and are at the final stages alongside Napoli and Rennes.
    • Since Rennes realised that they can't compete with an English club, they've moved on to other targets.

As a FC Nantes fan of Korean descent, it killed me when you posted that tweet confirming his transfer to Rennes the other day. I'm glad it turned out to be premature, I couldnt support him if he went there :D
But while the l'equipe report say they are exploring other options, they still havent lost hope that he will end up choosing them, it's just not as likely as it was a week ago, but they're not very optimistic about it now that PL clubs are in the race. It's all up to the player.

Another Chelsea youngster who was definitely going to be given a chance under Tuchel sold off
Tuchel wants him to stay. He's the one pushing for a move. Not sure what the club can do really. He only has a false 9 to compete with but he wants to leave? That's his decision and nothing the club can do to stop him.

Colwill situation is silly because that is a mess of the club's own doing, but Broja won't get a better pathway that this at Chelsea. If he's running away from this, then he was never going to make it here. And it's not like he'll have it easier at WH, as they have an established striker there too, but if he thinks he can oust Antonio from the team, then fair enough I suppose.

Can't spell Mkhitaryan

Barça is aware that Chelsea is preparing a formal proposal for Frenkie de Jong. In the last few hours, from London, they have expressed their firm desire to sign the Dutchman. Joining United does not appeal to FdJ, neither sportingly nor personally.

Aren’t they tier 1? Romano is following that account.

Supposedly the Spanish version of the Athletic. A Barca fan was telling me they’ve snapped up a couple of tier 1 Spanish journalists
