Why are we sharing tweets from Sport? might aswell share tweets from Caughtoffside and Indykaila etc.
Need a good source of laughter in here that's what Sport brings. They've flip flopped their way through this saga, saying

de Jong wants Chelsea and will do everything to make it happen

then he doesn't even want to consider Chelsea,

to If he leaves he only wants United and United are his priority

Then it's he has no intention of joining United and he wants to stay

Now it's back to if he HAS to leave, it's only Chelsea and he's no intention of going to United.

Give it a few hours and he'll hate Chelsea again and want to stay at all costs. Simple fact is, looking at everything going on, Chelsea aren't even in for him, they showed interest but that's it. Plus with Barca hijacking and taking 2 players from under their noses, do you really see them helping Barca out by forking out €85m for a player they don't even need?? Makes no sense at all

No... its literally just Sport that's saying this and they've been throwing the same stuff around for weeks with no other journos reporting it or even mentioning it.
Chelsea journos are silent on the matter, they've not said a word about it and you'd expect them to say something wouldn't you?
Chelsea are about to hijack us!

Are Sport considered a pro - X team paper? I.e Are they pro Madrid or Barca? People seem to think they hate us at United but is it just anti-Barca stuff? Or is it just a good story that gets more clicks than any other due to involving both Barca and Utd, so they are just making as much money out of it as possible themselves?

I don't bother following, but I imagine they have no information at all on the situation regarding us and Frenkie/Barca. It makes me wonder if there is an ulterior motive. If De Jong stays while refusing a paycut I presume it royally fu**s Barcelona's plans up and screws up player registrations going forward. Could they just be praying we move on, knowing Chelsea have no interest, leaving Barca without a buyer or any negotiating power with regard to Frenkie's contract.. Got to wonder who Sport actually dislike with this.

Or maybe they are actually just right, Chelsea are moving Jorginho on discretely and replacing him with Frenkie, while we get left with out pants down? It's a really strange story given the lack of corroboration elsewhere..

Oh no! :nervous::eek:

If Chelsea were interested and de Jong truly wanted to go to them and that was his desire, we'd walk away as there's no point in even trying. The fact we're still in tells us that de Jong is interested in coming here or has told ten Hag that he wants to join if he has to leave Barca

Why haven’t they done so with that usual Chelsea efficiency? Old Chelsea would have done so and I don’t believe for one minute new Chelsea are not adverse to splashing the cash.

Who the very f@ck are Sport Witness. Is this some website set up by someone's Uncle Alfred in his garden shed? Just looked at them and anyone claiming "global football intelligence" sounds like a pompous arse to me. evidence: in their PL drop down, they list Hull City! And this is one of their "intelligent" headlines:
Club ‘intensifying contacts’ with Manchester United for signing – ETH has decision to make
They're an aggregator and make that very clear but yeah their website has always been an eyesore. They used to do a bit of commentary on bs rumours and their origins but seem to have dropped that these days. The story itself was attributed to Sport who are a terrible source.

I know nobody here really knows anything about the contract situation at Barca, but I wonder if de Jong stays beyond the September deadline, are Barca locked in to the lucrative contact previously agreed with de Jong?

I believe that Sport are a pro Barca outlet but I'm not totally sure. It's been said they report what Barca tell them too, but i don't really know.

If Chelsea were shipping someone on and were interested enough that a crappy source like Sport are reporting it, then you'd think that the Chelsea tier 1s would at least verify it as true. This is the third time Sport have reported Chelsea links and as per, the Chelsea tier 1s are silent again

It's already a classic thread. Whether it happens or not is irrelevant at this stage, the thread has crossed over.
Hoping its not the case - as per the quote below

But what's all this Chelsea talk now? FDJ to Chelsea, Kante to United?
"It seems like Sport may have switched the laptop on after a long break. So, perhaps a lag in their social media activity." said the scarecrow

FdJ isn't stupid. He will know that Chelsea are about as certain of CL football as United going forward. 1 season isn't what you would base your future on. Only teams that currently are 95% guaranteed to be in the CL each season are City and Liverpool.

Sport are a mouthpiece for Barcelona and they write any nonsense that suits the club's official. You read what they write, remember that's very likely coming from Barcelona for PR reasons and move on. Generally from Spain, you take things with a pinch of salt unless it comes from Cadena Ser, Cadena Cope or El Mundo(not El Mundo deportivo which is like Sport an other mouthpiece for Barcelona and often dafter).

If he’s watched any of their pre-season he may rather just choose to be 8th choice CB at Barca.

They're a translator/aggregator account, but I do get a sense of self-righteousness and a pompous attitude from them.

Let’s be honest, Chelsea can’t even get a player to sign an autograph this summer so far, let alone a contract.

The Boehly franchise start up isn’t that appealing at the moment.

I have a question for the legal muppets on here, based on a hypothetical:

- Suppose FDJ did sign a document stipulating a portion of his wages can be paid at a later date, and for argument sake, let's say the later date is August 15th 2022. (can be anything, say he gets his 1st instalment on the deferred wages or the entirety starting August 15th).
- Now suppose 5 business days have passed since August 15th 2022, and FDJ has still got nothing wired to him on the deferred wages.

Could he be within his rights to rip-up the contract with Barca and walk into another club?

In such a situation, where FDJ goes AWOL because his employer are not fulfilling their end of the agreed and signed contract, there would definitely be a court battle between FDJ Barca.
But wouldn't that allow the club receiving him to just pay FDJ a bonus on signing and didly-squat to Barca pending the verdict of the court case?

His 'official' transfer figure is £51.2m (€60m release clause widely reported). With agents fees and bonuses it may reach about £85m.
Not a hope. Raiola had this negotiated before he passed away- there is no way that he would not have milked an oil club for an insane signing on fee (£60m minimum) and a similarly high agent fee. Also, whatever his reported wages are you can probably quadruple them - the Sheikhs pay a lot off the books (refer to Mancini).

What’s newbie got to do with anything? I hate that term when used as a condescending comment. The amount of posts made on a forum doesn’t determine your IQ or social standing.
Yup, it’s a strange phenomenon. You could have been a season ticket holder for 40 years but if 10 of your posts haven’t been liked then you don’t know shit.

They have probably been bambozzled byy Barca on 2 signings probably now with Rapinha and Kounde and losing half their defence to Barca/Real so you got a point my friend ;)
