Given how this impasse came about it doesn’t appear his agent has covered himself in glory from the get go.
Yeah just considering the number of issues with the contract, if I was De Jong I would be getting a new agent whatever happens in terms of him going staying......

I mean, if Frenkie takes a 50% pay cut I wouldn't bet against them still trying to sell him in the next few years. Just to really slap him in the face.

"So Frenkie, thanks for signing a new contract and letting us off all that money, much appreciated. You know how your transfer to United was held up by those deferred wages? Well now thats sorted you can go to United and we don't have to pay you a thing! Great eh! Off you pop!"

Quite a different scenario with de Jong though isn't it? Those players that Barca want out in the dressing room aren't on a contract that Barca can't afford. They're just players they don't really value or want anymore.

Frenkie is on a contract Barca frankly can't afford and don't want to pay, and see huge value in him that will help finances and free up some FFP wiggle room from what I understand
What can they do if de Jong refuses to go? In his shoes it sounds like he’s telling Barca that’s a you problem and getting on with it.

Sorry to side track but that was what sorta happened under Ferigie. Rooney, Scholes, O'Shea, Wes Brown, Park, all got shaft around different positions making way for new players. Got in and out of team (maybe not Rooney) and earning less money than they could have with other teams. Gosh I really missed the great man sometimes.
Remember the iconic match where Rio and Rooney played central midfield for us!

True, i think a little bit of common sense is needed when weeding out reports though. We definitely knew with United that things were being leaked from someone in the locker room though.

Not saying this isn't true, but it does seem a bit opinionish
I'm just messing with you, mate. True that we should always be critical about these tweets. Especially ones with telling "players thought". Like how the hell do they know what inside players mind.

What a way to start the day!

A salty pretzel devoured by @golden_blunder all before 10am. Get the man a glass of water!

Woe be tied any motherfecker who comes up in here with the ‘embarrassing club’ line.
