Can you offer any proof of that, some that isn't from Sport or some random Spanish guy

Romano has said loads of times the player is yet to be convinced and the Athletic have been reporting the same this week. In fact there must be 10 to 1 in favour of journalists/news outlets reporting that FdJ has no interest in United.

I'll throw the question back who is actually reporting that he wants to join??

I don’t see why taking a pay cut to stay there is even an option. He knows they want him out, there’s no way he’s going to take a pay cut to stay there when he can get paid his full wages without doing a thing.
To be fair, they mostly want him out because of his high wages. I'm sure they can find a use for him if he stays, they know he's quality and he has a nice humble personality. You can never have too much quality depth. And Xavi only gave him the two options.

I’d just like to point out that “yet to be convinced” and “no interest” are absolutely miles apart. Like literally opposites.

No one because admitting that he is even considering leaving weakens his position considerably.

I'm not even convinced about that... He's a big buy from the previous regime. I think they'd be happy to get rid of him for that alone.

According to one of the journos, he literally cannot express any intent of leaving or he could potentially give up those deferred wages. Whatever he signed up for, it's put tape over his mouth, it's 10x worse than 2008 Ronaldo.

You’re right. We’re shite, all hope is lost. We should just forfeit the season. Why would we even bother
That’s not what the exchange I was having was about. I was saying that from the outside looking in, it’s understandable to see why a player would go “Chelsea > United” currently.

You said Chelsea are more likely to win the league when, spoiler alert, they aren’t. The likelihood of either happening are very similar, as I said. These are the harsh realities whether you can read them or not.
Yeah, they are more likely when compared to United. Not that they are winning the league. Saying Arsenal are more credible contenders than Forest doesn’t mean you’re saying Arsenal will win the league. That distinction, however, can help a player rationalize a move to one team over the other.

You don’t finish 16 points off of them and try to manoeuvre around a simple statement such as “Chelsea are more credible contenders than United” with “similar likelihood”. Have you no shame? Or is your reading comprehension really that poor? I’m going with shamelessness, for your own benefit. Otherwise your reality is even harsher than I first assumed.

So you’re ignoring the chaos at Chelsea? All the players who walked after last season and the ones that remained and are being disruptive because they don’t want to be there by the managers own words?

You’re talking bullshit and you’re well aware of it, but any reason to get in a dig at the side you “support” hey

Glory Glory Red Devils
Anyone seeing this for what it is, the club using this as an opportunity not to strengthen the Midfield this summer, we've lost Pogba, Matic and Mata even if they were still here we still needed two more midfielders anyways, yes we've signed Christen on a free, which I feel he's a strong enough replacement for Mata.

We are about to go into yet another season with Mcfred, I don't care who the coach is they won't win us any trophies, I still don't understand why we have to leave it all on this basket when we can tell Barca, De Jong to feck off with their bag of drama and simply go out there and sign Fabian Ruiz for half the price quoted, less drama and more so he's also capable.

@TsuWave I’d pretty much second this. Don’t know why you’re talking us down based on a freak season, before we’ve even kicked a ball in anger under a new manager and coaching set up.

Xavi can give him whatever fecking options he wants, FdJ can quite feasibly stay there on his full wage. All the Barca journos and fans are creaming themselves that they don't owe him any money as per the contract and that he should take the pay cut, completely ignoring the fact that contracts are a two way street . Yet as everyone has said here he has the third option, which is why Barca are constantly whining about him to random pressers, PR, etc. They can do nothing if he decides to stay and not take the pay cut, at which point they either cannot register people, or they have to sell more of their valuable rights off for lower and lower pots of money

Well if after 3 months of this transfer dragging on he's still not convinced...
Literally nothing has been said by him or his agent, all the other shit can be considered just press bs, on both sides. FdJ and his agent have said jack shit all this time.

Actually he said very early on, during a press conference with the national team, that he wanted to stay at his dream club Barca

and who are you playing alongside Ruiz? None of the options we have now can play alongside him, whilst they could have played alongside FdJ, Ruiz has shortcomings meaning more purchases of a similar calibre. Add in to the fact that Ruiz is not on the market, and you are buying from Napoli, and yeah you are going to find them just as much a bunch of twunts as Barca.

I'm seeing this as a manager wanting a player that will aid his teams play. If he just wants anybody in there, use the youth team.

I'm calling bollocks on that. Think about it, we're talking about wages he has earnt, in the very loosest of terms (contractually he is owed nothing by the looks of it). But say they're right, is FDJ expecting Barca to hand him 17m euros before he even utters the words that he will leave or agrees anything with us? If he wants a lump sum then he has to agree a move, otherwise he will get his money contractually over the next 3 or 4 years. These journalists are talking out of their backside as it's impossible to get a lump sum of money owed in the next 3 or 4 years without agreeing to a move. By which point, if these journalists were correct, he would then forfeit the money.

That is not a fact, simply a narrative pushed by sections of the Spanish media. Frenkie has never at any point said anything about United one way or another.
Or he has never said he wants to either…

Barcelona Levers Matter
Barcas levers manipulate? Bankrupt loan masters? Blame Laporta mostly?
 Amazing, love every one of them.

For anyone who is as curious as I am, it's Barça Licensing & Merchandising. Imagine selling off your income to create money. Jesus, Lewa isn't young, how can this be justified as a long term investment?

If you are talking about the Corrigan piece from yesterday it says "likely wants a CL club" that doesnt say anything that could be classed as anything other than speculation amongst all the other speculation

The fact we still haven’t signed him yet… I get he’s waiting for his pay of but if he was so desperate to join us he’d of come by now. He might get his pay of and still not want to come…
