Nobody wants to sign him is the bigger issue here. And the club probably doesn't want to just rip up his contract to release him. So we're stuck in a shit situation.
Regardless, if ETH wants him away, as far as possible from the first team, he would be, instead we having this selfish ego driven cnut going walking around, because i guess ETH wants to work with him.

There are loads of modern day fans who support players rather than clubs. Twitter is rife with them. Fans who will follow players from club to club, and who have usernames/profile pictures/profile comments all based on these players. Always based around Ronaldo, Messi, Neymar, etc. I can't get my head around that, the whole act of supporting a player first and foremost, regardless of where they're playing.
I completely agree. The bizarre thing is people like @NewYorkRed argue the opposite - that it's immature, social media fans that are detached from the club that 'hate' on Ronaldo.

I dunno. When no club makes a bid for him that he wants to go to... What can we really do? Terminate the contract is the one option which I don't think the club would want to do even if ten hag wanted it. I think ten Hag's ok to keep him if he's ok to stay as a squad player and not be a distraction. Obviously is never going to happen with Ronaldo. But I don't think ten hag wants him as a starter, and certainly not after this summer.

It’s tough and unfair for ETH to deal with this just within a week ahead of the league opening game. But, it’s also a great opportunity for him to draw the line. Will Ronaldo do something else again to compromise the authority of the manager and the team togetherness?

And I’m absolutely right. I do not support the club over the players, but its obvious in this thread that 95% of the posters are kids who hate on him just for the simple reason that they’re fans of the other guy. People were abusing him because he pulled his shorts up in a pic ffs, that seem mature to you? I think that’s BS.

I don’t care about the Ronaldo Messi debate. I like one, you can like the other. I do care about ManUtd. He’s our most lethal attacker and so I want him to stay a for a year and then we can figure something else out.

You get the feeling that the United bigwigs have given ETH a free-hit this season. Zero expectation for champions league football, trophies etc. - just sort out this rot.

I guess I was completely wrong.

Odd that other players did it too? And why did sources say the club was fine with it.
No other player left who was in the squad. The other players leaving the ground were just spectators.

Some at the club tried to sweep it under the rug and don't want to get in a spare with Ronaldo. Ten Hag saying feck it, I'm the boss, I saw what is acceptable.

Also going to add: awful by Ronaldo to leave early if the coach didn’t permit it. He is a lot of things but unprofessional I thought wasn’t one of them. Should be fined and made an example of.

If Ten Hag is ok to keep him, then he deserves everything that cnut gonna serve him up, because there is no universe or anyone that dumb to think fecking Ronaldo will be ok with being squad player and wont stink up a place. So again, its on ETH, if he wants him gone, Ronaldo wont be in first team, simple, gone doesnt mean sell, loan or release, i would just remove him from first team, not my problem, he can practice with reserves or not, he can just feck off in general, dont care.

Yes, but he was the only one in the match day squad.
Ten Hag was unhappy with all of them in his interview and didn’t actually Ronaldo specifically.

There clearly was a misunderstanding somewhere.

Finally a manager with some cojones. Ronaldo and Mendez have played such a bad hand here, no one wants him and now it looks like ETH is putting on some pressure from our side as well. Maybe that Saudi offer will come in after all.

That's honestly absolute nonsense and you are cherry-picking to make some asinine point. Look at lots of the posters in here that want him out. They are established and well respected contributors to the forum. They aren't 'hating' on him because they like Messi more, FFS. It's such a reductive and nonsensical argument. If anything, it's the social media dwellers that are more likely to defend Ronaldo regardless of his behaviour/overall contribution to the club.

I think he didn't want to create a Ronaldo v Ten Hag scenario. Would he be offended with the ones who didn't turn up too?

I get that but why was ETH angry with them too in the interview?

I’m not condoning it btw. It was definitely unprofessional if there really wasn’t any permission

No manager with half a brain cell would directly call Ronaldo out.

Can’t help feeling we need to let Ronaldo leave, it is a circus and we will be better off without him in my opinion.

Fair enough. I think ETH will try to work with him. If it becomes impossible, ETH will get rid of him. It’s the right way rather than getting rid without even working together at all.

isn’t this the direct translation of what happened in the interview?

FFS, just give in, the manager himself said it is unacceptable. How can it be unacceptable if there were permission?
and please read between the lines, the manager did not want to make it a personal moment against Ronaldo so he talked in a collective way. Everybody knows that he is not happy specifically and mostly with Ronaldo who was substituted in the break.

He's just a diva who wants to be the center of attention 24/7. If we wanna rebuild, he needs to be out of the club asap.

Really?

I think you're reading the room wrong here if you think this is a Messi v Ronaldo thing. This forum itself, is split more in favour of Ronaldo in "that debate", then possibly anywhere else, other than maybe a Madrid forum (I'd guess). It's about Ronaldo's conduct here.

Aye, it seems like a lot of clutching at straws to defend/distract and justify.

He has actually reportedly made his rules clear, even minor things like having them eating together. You might want to be open to the possibility Ronaldo isn't in the right here.
I probably would if this wasn’t in a Ronaldo topic.

I didn’t say it was acceptable mate. I’m just saying that the interview doesn’t give the vibe that he’s singling out Ronaldo since he’s being asked these questions.

So in your opinion, he wasn’t that bothered about the others leaving without permission but was more upset with Ronaldo leaving?

There really is no excuse for leaving a game early. You are paid obscene amounts of money. You can sit and support your teammates for 90 minutes even if you aren't playing. Its the least I would expect.

If it's true that the others who left were not in the match day squad, then the answer is obviously yes: it's far more problematic (on all levels) that an actual squad member leaves early without permission. In fact, it's a pretty blatant act of disrespect.

I told you. Ronaldo is trying to make United terminate his contract. What he'll do afterwards is anyones guess.
