I do think he's an average manager but the way people mocked him for saying we need 10 players was ridiculous.

This squad isn't fit for any system which has been obvious since at least September last year.

Big mistake for not listening to his advice. Now we suffer for yet another season. Well done Manchester United.

Im sure he could have found a few decent options for decent money who would have done so much better

That half is quite the vindication of Ralf imo, literally the same shite with the difference that the workrate upfront is better and Rashford's attitude and play is markedly improved and Bruno is being 20% less brainless. After an entire preseason to boot.

Who knows, maybe a guy with a solid reputation for building clubs around Europe knew what he was talking about when he advocated for a rebuild. We simply can't persist with McFred, I am amazed how bad they have been. Some teamtalk needed now.

I’m convinced we would have never had this shitshow of the transfer window if he stayed in the planned role. He called out the club on many things including needing 11 new players, sorting the Ronaldo drama early into the January etc. yet here we are. This club does not want to live in reality and are looking for their get out of the jail card.
Rangnicks strength was always a desk job and we sacked him when he moved to a desk job from the dugout.

Laimer, Kamara, Neves, Ruiz all getable players, I wouldn't be surprised if at least one of them were in Rangnicks plans. He talked about our need to control games in midfield, he would have addressed it.

The man was right, we laughed at him for claiming we needed to sign 10 players. Guess what, he was spot on.

He got sacked because he said we needed 10 players.

The Utd board said, nah feck that.

One thing about RR is that he understood the scale of the problems at this football club. He was the most refreshing voice at the club since SAF left. The board couldn't handle the truth or effort needed to solve things.

We brought the guy for the wrong role and based our decision on it not to move ahead with consultancy. This club just amazingly incompetent, genuinely fascinated by this. One thing for gullible fans to think this way completely another for the people running a multi billion pound business.

We were on to something with the Rangnick appointment into the club but because we are cursed it didn’t work out. Football is shite.

No one fecking laughed. We celebrated him

To be fair, i would more people than not were merciless towards the end and mocked him and his coaches. So many of these players are losers in every way

I do agree with him. This mega signing lark leaves you short, we greatly need footballers not just a famous one.

The team can't function with a smattering of footballers and the dead weight we have.

Ten Hag has had 2 months with this squad now with the preseason, which is already half of what Rangnick had during an active season. But Ten Hag has also had the option to make transfer, something that Rangnick was denied. The team delivers the same shit on the pitch on both occasions.

It's almost as if Rangnick was never the problem. Man got sacked for daring to rock the boat. That's the long and short of it. Maybe if we beg he will come back.

Totally agree. I still suspect that RR was working under the same target Moyes, OGS and all the others had: get top-4 and you get the two years consulting role as a reward (he could have done it alongside the Austria job). But the players downed tools and he went.

Ironically those players are still here and not the multiple replacements RR called for!!!

That target: CL qualification or else, needs to be dropped or there will never be any chance to rebuild up from a sound base, it will be a revolving door of new managers year after year.

He told the board that we should try to find a replacement for Ronaldo back in January. Nobody cared. The board still doesn't care.

He made many mistakes and he is not a great manager, but the one mistake we made is that nobody believed he will stay at any role, so no player actually cared.

Some people here claim that with Ole our season would be better. Truly bizarre.

It became vogue post RR to exonerate the players & vilify RR but if today shows is anything the squad are simply not good enough. RR wasn’t a good enough coach but I’m not sure what people expect from these players, we’ve seen who they are.

Seems obvious that ETH wanted his own players in, ones he’s worked with before.

Bit weird that every single target has a ETH connection.

Who knew the guy was actually accurate after all...

If he was still here Ronaldo would've been replaced at the start of summer, possibly with Nkunku who he championed, & we'd have had Laimer snapped up at least, that's for sure.

Rangnick was punished for unleashing truth bombs.
This. I’ve said it once, I’ll say it again - he was a bang-average/sub-par manager but he was given an impossible task. This squad is dross and it’s going to take Erik a few months to try and change it into a consistent-winning team.

He was right about everything. Maybe he is not one of the greatest managers ever, but there's no denying he knows what he is talking about.

He failed as manager and said we needed a new team. That was some sharp intellect right there.

You don’t have to be Nostradamus to say we need a new team.

I’m sure ETH knows this as well, he’s just not flapping his gums about it

He was saying the players were not good enough way before he "failed". And btw, he was asking for transfers in January but didn't get any. I wouldn't blame him so much for failing. You give this dross to Pep Guardiola and I'd doubt he'd do all that better. Maybe get us a top 4, but that's about it.

Tell that to all the posters here who think we're fine with 3-4 signings, half of whom are nothing more than squad players in low priority positions.
