It's evidence that ten hag has run out of ideas, "oh damn I can't get Anthony, what other attacker can I sign from a small pool of players that I am comfortably familiar with?
Yep. His mate’s aren’t going to get him out of this mess. We need much more quality and ambition - but time is pressing to spend what we needed to. 3 months wasted to pursue one player that’s not going to fix our problems, however good he is.

Don’t really see the problem with this. He’s a decent striker who can rotate with Martial, he was well above everyone else he played with at West Ham.

He has a bit of fire about him, he can score goals, and is good at being a target man. Get him in, and we go for a big name striker next season.

Yeah, our attack is decent. We didn't struggle to score last season, and we won't struggle to score this season.
Our issue remain elsewhere.

So a striker who scored more goals than Leao last season isn't decent? Yet some on here were hoping for Leao, strange.

I'm all for buying for the future etc, but we have Garnacho who is one for the future, what we need is for the here and now, someone who will provide depth, goals and workrate. That's what Marko will give.
The main reason for that was Ronaldo scored half of those goals and he wants to now leave. If he leaves we are stuck with Martial and another 33 year old. We are fecked if this guy is the best we can come up with. "Good" character too, seeing as he left to play in China in what should be the prime years of his career. :houllier:

I have been supportive of ETH until now but I'll seriously start questioning him if this signing goes through.

You keep ignoring the fact Arnautovic is a racist cnut.
I know nothing about that, and that has nothing to do with his footballing ability, which is what I am discussing.
Was he banned for the racism, or was it a mandatory one game?
As I remember it he wasn't banned for the full extent of racism, just a mandatory one game, but I could be wrong, as I say I don't know anything about it.

How many fecking short term options are we going to sign as CF?

Ighalo
Cavani
Zlatan
Ronaldo
Falcao

Now fecking this? It’s not short term if you keep fecking doing it! When do we sign the long term option? Who’s working on that?

I understand some of the logic behind the stopgap signings. Ronaldo is a legend of the game. Ibrahimovic and Cavani were world class in their day. All of these players have elite mentalities and even if it didn't work, I can see the reasoning for having them around the young attackers in the squad. Ighalo was very questionable, but at least he was a United fan who was made up to be at the club and gave his all the few times he was called upon.

Marko Arnautovic was a Stoke player in his prime. He had six seasons in the Premier League and his best goal return was 11 AND he's a racist AND he's a cnut AND he's shown to have attitude issues in other ways with the way he left West Ham. There is no redeeming feature of this signing.

If we want a naff striker on the cheap to bring off the bench we can find twenty better options for the same price with none of the baggage.

Like who?
Someone who can score goals, has international experience, is relatively low cost, has a good work ethic, knows the premiership, good in the air and on the ground,
Name one and I'll be impressed.

The long term option was for Greenwood to be No. 9 after Sancho arrived. Martial also wasn’t supposed to turn into a complete dud.

Martial should be gone, and Greenwood is unfortunate but just our fecking luck.

Chelsea just offloaded Werner and meanwhile we’re stuck with shite because no one has the balls to pull the tigger on a failed signing

I actually agree with this, if it wasn’t for the fact that he’s a racist cnut.

The last player I would want is Arnautovic…but we are too soft in so many areas…we might need some attitude about the place…Brighton had some much more passion and aggression to win every second ball…we need an influence like Cantona, Keane or Robson had back in the day…one to protect and guide the youngsters…that is the only reason I can see us being interested in this guy…

Here’s a thought. How about buying a cheaper midfielder and then using the excess funds to get a better striker in?

Is he even the best player in Bologna? Have they any midfielders we could use for example?

We might be in bigger trouble than I thought this season.

He should be nowhere near the club. We already have plenty of average and nothing players.

I mean except for the very obvious videos and pictures + sound recordings. Get a grip yourself.

Pathetic.

Let's not derail this thread with your amazingly bad takes though.

Arnautovic is a bad player and we shouldn't sign him.
Videos and pictures are new to me

Oh god this is happening isn't it.

I just hope he's announced at the same time as De Jong and a RW, plus Sesko with a loan back, as its the only way to avoid a full meltdown.

People accepting this signing have completed accepted us as a mid table side. The owners have zero ambition and they have convinced few of our supporters too.

He’s 33 and spent the last few years in China…

To even consider signing him raises some pretty serious questions about the way the club's run.

This is where our problems are . Buying some randomer that a manager doesn’t want and over paying on another cnut that doesn’t want to be here
