You would think wouldnt you.

I am constantly pessimistic because I need people like yourself to show me some light. But it's getting harder by the day that's what she said

I think De Jong might not come to United. De Jong right now feels like Half Life 2 Episode 3. The hype train was so big that valve were scared in to not opting for the release of the game.
We have heard about De Jong so much about how he is the guy to take us forward, and it might all turn in to a damp squib, hence he might also consider not coming here where his every pass will be scrutinized and he also needs better players around him on the same wave length. We will still be playing Martial and Rashford.

If FDJ wants to join Chelsea, thinks we’re a total mess and Barcelona are unable to register signings without him getting sold - why in the name of feck would Chelsea pay his deferred wages and the 85m euros fee? They hold all the cards. Makes zero sense.
Boehly trying to show some big dick energy and is suffering from a Abramovich complex. He needs to show that he can do the same conspicuous spending as Roman once did.

Wait so United have believed in getting Frenkie all summer, have put the transfer window on hold and now Chelsea are further along because they are "agreeing to pay the full deferred wages"?

Absolute bollocks - we will be paying those deffered wages, probably a bit more of a fee and will offer him higher wages. Hang tight muppets

Still curious about the following regarding Chelsea;

1. If you buy FDJ then you pretty much have a starting XI of midfielders, where do you see him playing? Bear in mind you already signed the lad from Villa and are trying to buy another midfielder from Milan.
2. Does this mean you are happy not to sign Declan Rice who we have always been lead to believe is your dream long term target for the midfield? Hard to see Rice and FDJ operating in the same midfield and certainly difficult to shoehorn them in alongside all the other international stars in those positions.
3. If you buy FDJ and get Fofana your net spend is over 350M and you are also still looking for a forward and possibly a RB. Probable spend of between 350M and 400M. Looking at the new FFP rules and the way they calculate spend versus revenue over a 3 year period it looks like you would be effectively blowing most of what you are allowed to spend for the next 3 years in this window. Are you ok with minimal incoming transfers for the next two summers after this one?

It’s bollocks because United have also done that. Chelsea sources have jumped the gun here on something that isn’t done, just like Raphina and Kounde were ‘done’

I dunno. It all seems very weird. At a time when Barcelona are refusing to pay him off which reliable sources have said is stopping him joining us Chelsea rock up with a bag full of cash offering to pay it all. Barcelona are desperate. Seems bonkers and a bit of a dream come true for them.

Chelsea absolutely have room for him, Kante is get old and injury prone and Jorginho doesn't have long left on his contract. That's their first choice midfield pair

Boehly maybe the ultimate Muppet and is now drunk on the thrill of the transfer chase. Or like some gambler in the casino high on a few wins and is now making bigger n bigger bets forgetting his golden rule of knowing when to walk away.

I would love to believe we could wrestle momentum back from Chelsea under the radar, however just not seeing any signs of that being even a remote possibility

If it was as easy as that, I'm sure it'd be done either way. If Chelsea are to offer to pay his deferred wages you better believe United will too. Chelsea offer him x amount of wages, we'd do it too. We'd match them our outdo them all the way. He's our top target whilst he's Chelsea's spur of the moment dick swinging move.

It's already been reported by Ornstein that CL will not be the only factor in all this, a decision will look at everything if he's to leave. We just have to wait and see

Unless you have all the money in the world you will always need to make choices and priorities. They need defenders and especially a striker this summer first and foremost.
Those two mids are still doing great. Either find a way to extend their contracts for another year or you have the kid ready to step up.

I don’t think we would - and I seriously doubt Chelsea would - paying it is batshit insane. That’s basically a 70m fee plus 470k a week wages.

I do agree with this. Chelsea have had all sorts of journos making it sound like everything is going brilliantly and they're so close to signing players, only for half of them to end up at Barca.

It's not a foregone conclusion, but I know which way my money would be going if I was a betting man.

Except they both want to be the deepest player in midfield and FDJ has even gone on the record as saying that Barca playing Busquets there is why he has been good but not great for them.
Frenkie is not a DM , he is a progressor of the ball and goes forward. He is not positionally disciplined nor a screener, bur Rice is those things.

All the replies from Barca fans.. never known such a toxic fan base. Hideous football club.
I assume this was posted before but they are already abusing the shit out of him for daring to see out his contract

If this really ends up with him joining Chelsea we'll truly be the biggest laughingstock in world football if we weren't already
I will be laughing at the nutters on this thread who acted like ITK and sat and mocked all other posters.
