Hard not to get sucked in when you want something to be true
Theres way to much noise for it not to be true, it's just whether anything materialises.
Glazers will likely press for the most they can get, as all they've ever cared about is money

I mean in this instance, selling their asset, it's the natural thing to do

Of course it is, but even over the last god knows how many years, all they've cared about is how much they can make from the club. They've done the bare minimum to ensure that they keep making money off us

Please all of the deities let this happen! id take a week off work!
We all need to get behind him now and push the parasites out. The club deserves way better than what has gone on in the last decade or so.

Dont forget ratcliffe also owns 33% of Mercedes F1 team. Utd marketing arm being the relentless machine it is, i can see some Mercedes/Utd teamup merchandise in the future (if he bought utd).
Verstappen is a United fan. Max to Mercedes then? They could really do with recruiting the best driver there has been in recent times.

How wealthy is Ratcliffe compared to owners of other football teams?

Wondering how complicated the financial leveraging would be for him to buy/run the club and what degree of returns he'd need to see for it to be viable.

Wrong. How much of their own money have they put in? How much have they made? They haven't put any of their money and made 200m$ in addition to whatever they will when they sell.

I mean in this instance, selling their asset, it's the natural thing to do
Can the PL force the glazers to sell because of how they're treating the club? I think they have some new guidelines on leveraged buyouts because of what happened with us.

I can't see these rules they implemented to work backdated in retrospect, unfortunately

Errr....how can he hold a stake in Utd and own Nice FC (french football club). Dont UEFA normally not allow this?
OGC Nice and no the UEFA allows it. You even have clubs that own other clubs for example AS Monaco owns the Cercle Brugge.

Differs between 12b and 21b but Ineos are worth around 61b

I didn’t follow the Chelsea sale closely, why did he have zero chance of that going through?
Bid 4.25 bill right at the end. It was the highest bid as well if you believe the reports.

Oh my days. I think this could be genuinely happening.

This is the new muppet thread. Feck the football. Feck transfers. Let's set up a club sale forum.

when this first was reported I thought they'd quickly pour cold water on this, instead the club isn't commenting and it seems this story actually has legs. Aaargh don't do this to me ... hard not to get super excited over this. Let's hope we won't get hurt again

The writing was on the wall for the Glazers when the super league bid went tits up. Woodward saw the writing on the wall.

Britain's richest man vs the money grabbing run off into the night crooks from America? I imagine this deal would be done very quickly once it gets serious.

The Super League failure has caused a ripple. Barca, Chelsea and United were banking on it.

Who's this guy and is it realistic?
Britain's richest man a few years ago, now officially residing in Monaco. Owns INEOS and made his money in the Chemicals/Energy field. INEOS also own OGC Nice. Ratcliffe is worth about £20 billion. From Oldham and is a United fan.

Whether it's realistic depends on the Glazers, of course, but in terms of whether he is a credible buyer, I think he very much is. He's distanced himself in the past and said he'd only get involved if the club was put up for sale. He's now straight in with the spokesman comment, and media coverage. He put a £4.25 billion bid in for Chelsea at the eleventh hour, which was seen as a signal of his intent to later bid for United.
