Arsenal are a great example of what happens when you get rid of supposed "star" players and start again.

Funny how whole thing around Arsenal turned out, specially looking down in here last few years, same goes for manager.
Arsenal have improved because they gutted their team a few years ago, but also had young talent to keep them afloat like Saka and Martinelli upfront. But they have spent and acquired players and it has come off for them for the most part.

White, Saliba, Gabriel, Zinchenko, Partey, Odegaard, Jesus. They also bought Ramsdale who has been better than Leno.

Yup I know the "Trust the process" stuff gets laughed about but they look far more hardworking / cohesive vs a couple of seasons ago.

We've had a fairly easy start too.

This is typical caf though. Overhype a rival after a few good results and then go too far in the other direction after a few bad results.
Its not just a simple overhyping. The big difference between Arsenal now and in the last few seasons is the way they play. It seems Arteta finally thinks he has the squad to be more proactive and competitive. And that is always a big advantage..

Arteta has 3 season to fine tune his team, and turned over players don't fit his tactic and the culture of the dressing room. Credit to Josh for keeping faith with Arteta and Edu. The game play of the current team does look alot better.

We're not going to be able to play this way if we get a few injuries though.

At this rate, Brendan Rodgers will soon be available for the Manchester United job

Arsenal looking quality this season. Watching them compared to us. Can see a massive difference… can tell that they have a clear style of play.

They will just tank the EL. If the reward is the CL they are already looking strong enough to make it through top 4 so there is no need to go full strength in EL.
Winning the EL gives you a trophy and CL football though. It’s worth giving it a go. I expect ETH to do that at United.

Yeah true. We’ll be relegation candidates on here if we lose on Monday.

Cover on the wings is very bad, only players out of position that can "do a job" but will severly change our attack. If Pepe to Nice goes through, i hope we can get a good replacement in the next days.

Arsenal are missing both fullbacks though. Still believe they have lot to improve.

Fulham - Brentford: 3-2. So basically, United are losing 7-2 to Fulham.

They've been developing the team for 3 plus years now and have brought in players to fit that style. United have such a hard time releasing players or making sentiment part of the decision like Rashford, McTominay, Jones, etc.

Arsenal fecked off players and bought well. United have too many players not willing or able to fit a style, so they have to be binned off asap (DDG, Shaw, RBs, McTominay, Ronaldo, possibly Rashford and Martial). That's so much turnover with not much behind them to keep them ticking over until better players become available.

Yep, and we really don't have adequate cover for Partey or Jesus either.

You make it sound easy, but we all know the stick we got for most the decisions made through the past 3 years, including not sacking Arteta.

I highly doubt United fans have that patience.

Zinchenko and Jesus are two great signings for Arsenal. Can't believe they got the both of them to be honest.

Any fan of United that's still here has patience, I'm not worried about that.

I expect City would have refused to sell them to us.
Probably. Plus they have the Arteta connection. I would have loved to have signed Zinchenko. Think he's a very underrated player, who's also very versatile.

Yep and to be fair even many Arsenal fans were not having it and calling for his sacking. How he survived that December period is still a mystery
United could/should do the same but we were lucky to have freebies like Saka/Martinelli and ESR to help go through the storm. Manchester don't have that but as we've seen the last few days, the way they can flex their financial strenght is also a good way to navigate through that mandatory bad period. I think they will have a "Chelsea summer" next year.
