The once every 4 year Chelsea collapse might be our best bet at top 4 being reachable this season. Tuchel ssubbing off two midfielders for two attackers reminds me of Ole's desperation subs that almost never worked. You need to control the ball to make a comeback, and wingers and forwards don't help you do that.

I don’t think we get a game this month.

They need a striker
They have to buy a striker - De Jong should not be their priority
Agreed. Crazy to let lukaku go on loan without a replacment. Barcelona will up the aubameyang fee now. Out of curiosity if the likes of ivan toney and mitrovic can score in PL for brentford and fulham why wouldnt cheslea/utd consider them as a sqaud striker? Not the long term answer, but a short term answer to get goals.

I’m not overly convinced with the Koulibaly signing. I hope he’s good but he’s approaching the latter years of his career and has spend the majority of his career in a completely different league. His highlight clip v Salah shows a serious weakness in one v one situations against fast forwards which there are plenty of in the Premier League.

He’s clearly a good defender but the money spent is a bit mental.

Ake is reliable and meets the homegrown quota. He makes sense although again, the money seems high and could impact Levi’s development.

Kimpembe is a huge no from me.
I was worried about Koulibaly settling into this league and the fast paced press.

Today is evident he will take a while to adjust.

Spurs didn’t press like Leeds have today.

Deserved to lose. Absolutely horrific. Leeds were great so congratulations to them. Worst part is that we brought on our only 2 forwards from the bench to get us goals and they don’t even want to be at the club. We need more depth if we want to finish in a respectable position in the league.

The Chelsea turnover of attacking players is crazy, they seem to start every season with a different set with the guys who started last year either sold or out of favour, and then you have RLC starting on the right for some reason

If I'm Leicester there is no chance I'm selling Fofana before friday 12 pm or whenever a player needs to be registered for matchday 4.

Mount is the only useful forward player they have. He has carried their attack last season for goal scoring and creativity.

Oof, this is pretty bad. I didn’t get to watch the first half, but this is shocking displays, and a pretty clear case as to why sone of the “why don’t they play more?” players dont and shouldnt. Koulibaliy should also just stop running forward. Literally nothing good ever happens.

Didn't watch the game but I thought their transfer window was a bit strange. Getting rid of Werner who was super useful last season in creating space in big games, and signing Sterling who offers nothing that say Pulisic doesn't.

And then playing Reece James as a CB which limits him, signing Cucerella who is very good but when you already have Chillwell.. and then not signing a CM when your best two are made of glass. To top it off chasing Aubemyang for £20m.. Tuchel is a great coach but these past two years have shown he should be nowhere near recruitment decisions.

Deepthroating information to Howard Nurse.
They’ve spent 160m and want Fofana, Gordon and Aubemeyang which is another 160m and I’m not sure they’d be any better than last year. Plus they need another RWB because they’re toothless if James is out and a midfielder as Kante is done. They’re fecking miles away yet this forum continually wanks over them.

Hmmm I don’t know if he wants to bring me in for consult, but he needs to read the Caf more at least: Gallagher and Jorgihno was one of the pairings I listed as NOT being viable in my breakdown in the De Jong thread. You place RLC next to them on their right? You can go that direction with Kante there, that’s it.

Was Tuchel trying to prove he needs a second right back? Job done then. Need Fofana? Yes please. James is going to try to get forward no matter where you put him, and Silva can’t be left as a lone sweeper at 37. My lord.

And notice to all teams playing us: might as well play like 1 CB and a goalie, send everyone else on a counter. They can’t score against air. There is just literally no creation or danger there.

Definitely arguable wether we need Auba , and I don’t get a Gordon at all…..

But we were desperately lacking Fofana today. James can’t be playing RCB, especially without Kante in the lineup. Silvia’s age is showing. He is still class but there are positions he can’t get to, and he can’t make up for lack of cover when spaces are abandoned.

They need Fofana, and they need to NOT lose Trevoh as well. I’m looking at Silva at the end of this game, and he could not turn around and play this Tuesday if called upon.

You have Chalobah on the bench who looked decent last season yet isnt even featuring. James is wasted at RCB.

They’ll finish outside the Top 4. Arsenal and Spurs alongside City and Pool I reckon. Can you imagine if we magically become amazing this season

Can’t argue against that point. Tuchel has made some possibly crippling personnel mistakes.

Werner may not have been the most clinical player in the world, but you at least had to worry about him. And worrying he might actually make that open shot 5 feet from goal left other players open to score.

We are creating deficiencies in our defense with our selections, and actively playing two people in attack who asked to leave who are just anemic in front of goal as Werner, but without the pace, work rate, and danger. If we had actually had Nkunku coming. In to replace Werner then fine, but we don’t.

And it’s time to ask the question: what is Kai good at?

I just watched Bernardo deliver that class ball into Gundogan, and I realize neither Havertz or Mount are capable of that kind of play

Aside from Gordon I have had no issues with the people they have wanted to bring into the team this summer, but the people they have been trying to drive out of the team is definitely an issue

It’s easy to criticize after a shit show of a display but if we are going to be honest with ourselves, we came into the season knowing we have no squad depth and are deficient up front. Without additions to the squad we will likely have a shit season however if we get rid of players stinking the place up in return then I’m happy to have some patience with the team.

I’m liking that Todd is listening to management and targeting young players with potential. Jim Fraser and Neil Bath have spoken highly of our purchases. That’s heading in the right direction for me.

Can't believe how knee-jerk this forum is. They had one bad game, last week they played very well against 'champions elect' without putting the game to bed.

They couldn't match Leeds intensity in the middle today and it cost them, starting Gallagher was a mistake and they still need another CB and a striker which I'd imagine they would add.
