Always like this chap. thought he was clean on the pitch and classy off it. Do not think he will come here but wish him well...

Nah, had his chance to stay and didn't. Let him go back to Bilbao or somewhere where they appreciate players who do a lot of pointing

I always felt that half the reason PSG went for him was to spite us following ole knocking them out of the CL. I loved him when he played for us a he seemed to get the club more than some of the others. But I remember Fred feeling like a large upgrade when he started getting more game time after Ander left.

Heart says bring him back as a rotation option. Head says he wasn’t good enough back then and hasn’t improved in the last 2/3 years.

He didn’t excel at anything really, just did the basics ok. I feel we’ve already got that in Fred.

Did great in his first preseason game against Liverpool.

That's all I can remember about him.

I always found that overly emotional goodbye video they did odd

He wasn’t exactly a legend, not many were against him leaving and he only left for money, on his own terms

I liked him as a player, but we've moved on and he isn't any better than what we have.

Loved him when he was here, so underrated and one of our more successful post-SAF signings. He's past it now though so no thanks.

Probably my favorite post Fergie signing but its a no for me, time to move on.

Clean on the pitch? He was a nasty tackler in the spirit of Scholes, and we loved him for it. Best of luck to him, but I don't see how he upgrades the squad at this point and we've too many squad players masquerading as first team players at this stage.

Always found it strange that he went from two touch footballer to a proper rat of a player.

Diving and over exaggerating any touch. Mourinho made him a horrible player.

never rated him. Did a good marking job on peak Hazrad and I think people remember that over a lot of the mediocre performances he put in. Letting Noble carry him of the pitch always annoyed me as well.

Allowing himself to be carried off the pitch by Mark Noble like he was a baby ended him at United as far as I'm concerned.

Wouldn't take him back now, but he was decent for us and had the right attitude at least

His winner in the 2018 fa cup semi final against spurs was pretty memorable. Wish he stayed, showed more fight than half of our squad.

He made the right move in fairness. £300,000 for a player who isnt anything particularly special was the best decision he could make.

I really liked the guy but stylistically he's not the sort of midfielder we need at all.

This is old United thinking, we need new United thinking.

He’d cost a bomb in wages and I’d rather see an academy player get game time or us buy a younger player.

We already have Van de Beek to pass the ball backward to the same player that passed him the ball. No thanks.

I thought he was consistent and done well for the club, shame he left but showed his true colours going to PSG and giving up in life.
Noble carrying him off the pitch us unforgiveable, he should have smacked Noble for trying it.

I didn’t know Fred did the basics well, since when has this been happening?
He’s the definition of jack of all trades, master of feck all. Runs about, bags of energy, can sort of pass, can sort of defend, but isn’t creative enough to be a proper 8, isn’t disciplined enough to be a 6, and isn’t good going forward. So he just runs around putting out fires. That’s what I always felt Herrera was.
