Tbf, their coach probably couldn't care less about the fee. He's just rightly pissed at the prospect of losing another key player.
Meh. New coach shouldn't expect any loyalty from players who don't know him. Guy seemed cocky for someone who only managed club Brugge before

Fantastic signing. The right flank is crying out for a creative player who can cut in and wreck havoc. Sancho I think is better suited for the left wing.
Im not sure he is but I feel Sancho needs more support from a LB than Antony so better he is with Malacia

At this point I dont really care about the price, we really needed new forwards into the club. If this is who Ten Hag wanted, then so be it.

Question is, do we have any money left or is that it? As we really probably could do with another forward.

Never in doubt this would happen. Ajax just needed a positive PR spin, blame it on the business etc. No chance they would refuse 100m offer for Antony.

For those complaining about the fee the reality is that it's probably extremely unlikely the fee will ever really reach €100 million.

I wouldn't be surprised if it was something like 60-70 million guaranteed with the rest made up in bonuses of Antony is nominated for the Balon D'or, United make top four, United win the premiership etc. As with all these signings the fee will be in such a manner that if we ever pay the full amount it will mean he has been a very successful signing for us.

this guy is going to be a fantastic player for us and he fits the bill perfectly....right age, left footed attacker, like to run at defenders...

he's also going to be frustrating at times as well trying to pull off some outrageous pass or skill so we should be prepared for that as well

With 4 days to go in the transfer window, Antony is surely our last signing this summer? I mean, I could see us trying to get a GK in last couple of days but anything than that seems improbable.

I doubt you'd say the same thing if Real Madrid had come for our two best young players (if we had any good, young players) and our new manager complained about it.

Its different. Players don't come to United on the basis of being a stepping stone club. Antony picked Ajax on the basis of leaving in 2 years when a fair bid from a big club came in. They're literally about to do a rebuild. Of course their stars don't want to be there.

Ajax sell their most promising players every season, its their business model. Their teams gets gutted every other season. Its how they operate. We don't

Exactly this. An exciting new player who our manager clearly wants & undertandS. Who cares about the money
Same. This late in the window, we aren't saving pennies for other targets, so let's just pay what is needed.
