At this point Romero is more like David Kent/indykaila in terms of reliability.
I think there's something else up with these Romero Tweets on de Jong.

None of them are being reported by reliable aggregators, and Romero himself hasn't been Tweeting them out, either. This is most likely information that is being posted out of context by the majority of the aggregators.

No idea how you can say that after this transfer window?? If FdJ decided not to join, then there isn't much that can be done about that!
It took 2 humiliating results before they decided to overpay and make a desperate attempt to get another midfielder in when anybody with half a brain cell knew we were fecked if McFred was going to be key players in the first team. They all deserve the sack for making Woodward look competent.

Not waste 3 months on a player who rejected us in May?

Look at all the midfield talent that's moved in this window. We obviously needed more than 1 player in for starters.

And you have proof that he rejected us then how? There was clearly a chance of hime coming here – otherwise we wouldn't have pursued him.

Also, we have brought in other players during this time, so it's not like we have only focused on him.

United already had alternatives lined up, but they didn't advance on them because the club was incredibly keen on Frenkie de Jong to the extent that they had an agreement with Barcelona on the transfer. Maybe the club could've moved on to an alternate target earlier on, but that's in hindsight.

I don’t think it’s accurate to say he rejected us. The situation is very complicated because of his contract, his preference for continuing at Barca, Barca’s preference to shaft him and boot him out, the giant sums of money involved. It’s not the case that he just said “nah”.

Possibly. Most Romero related things appear to be from stuff he's said on some sort of visual/audial social media platform.

Classic internet with a lot of people here just to piss on Muppet. Can we thread ban anyone suggesting he's going to Chelsea? It's getting tiring

That we bid for him in June. Every media outlet and their dog told us he didn't want to leave. And low and behold 3 months later he hasn't left. If Frenkie ever wanted to be a United player he'd be here, regardless of 17m euros of wages.

We haven't bought other players in that position. Murtough panicked after Brentford and signed a 30 year old for £70m.

Murtough and co have been strung along by obvious nonsense from Frenkie's camp for months, much like this thread has been strung along by Sport and Romero. They leveraged our interest in him to try and improve/secure his position at Barca. And obviously it worked.

He's so deep into the workings of this transfer for us that he can't even tell time properly, a hero.

The last part isn't true though, he's been relegated to the bench.

I’d say the fact he didn’t sign is pretty damning evidence like
