Bills looked great. Hard to say how much of that was how poor the Rams were. But either way, the game kind of expected it to go how it went.

If Allen, Diggs, and Miller stay healthy they are going to be very hard to beat.
They are the early favourites but I can't remember the last time a preseason favorite was actually the champion. I don't think the Rams were last year or the Buccs the season before that. Not sure about the Patriots and KC. Maybe KC were.
What is this triangle hair that Miller has got going on 
They lost 6 games last year (v a very weak schedule) and didn't make the final four in the playoffs. Allen and Diggs were obviously there. Now maybe Miller makes all the difference but I think there will be many more surprises than people anticipate.
I wouldn't be too concerned about last year. History is full of Super Bowl winners who had less than stellar previous seasons. What is important about the Bills is they are a very well coached team with one of the best QBs in the league who, despite already being very good, appears to be improving even more and is about to hit a stretch of peak performance career years. They have also got a new OC who will not remain an OC for very long and will be a difference maker this year. The missing piece of a great pass rusher has also been addressed. Therefore barring injury, I think they have a good chance of going all the way.
I don't think their chances of going all the way are better than a number of other teams but we will find out as I say..

No bolder than picking the Chargers really. That division is very interesting indeed.
Could happen. Or then again they could be great. Just no clue at this point how Russ will do and what impact the loss of Fangio will have on the defense.
Eagles are a bit of a stretch.
It will be for sure. Although the Chargers are currently #4 choice to make it according to oddsmakers.
Nothing is guaranteed in sport, but I would disagree that there are other teams in the league who you’d put on par with the Bills at the moment.
Bettors, or at least the ones that are the loudest, love the Eagles. I left them off my picks due to my contrarian nature, and am already regretting it after Dallas started having to sign 40 year old offensive tackles due to injury.
They added some absolute beasts in the off-season like AJB and the giant DT from Georgia, so they might go as far as Hurts can take them. The last time I said that was about another OU QB with Baker and the Browns though so we’ll see how it goes this time.

We haven't seen any of the other teams play yet.
A lot of commentators like their new additions and are talking them up. I guess the issue is Hurts and how good he is going to be.
Well they're getting a lot of hype as well and they've added some marquee pieces. But I struggle with the leap from not making the playoffs to Super Bowl champs. That's a heck of an improvement in one season (for teams not adding Tom Brady to their roster). We also have to hope that Staley has learnt to get out of his own way a little bit.
It doesn’t matter, because my view of the Bills isn’t because of the game they played yesterday. Just like my views on other teams won’t be just on their first game.
I'm not talking about the first game either, it takes several games before we know who is who. And as the other gent I was conversing with mentioned, last season doesn't tell the full story either. A fair point, though I think it does hold some relevance.
So I'm personally pumping the brakes on any hype until I see a few games from everyone. Of course other people are free to drink the Kool Aid as much as they like, we'll all know whether the Bills are in fact the premier team soon enough.
The Bills have the Titans next, who they should beat, and the Dolphins, who they should also beat, even though the Dolphins will likely be significantly better than last season.
Then they play the Ravens, the Steelers, the Chiefs and the Packers in succession. I'd be interested to see how they deal with that little stretch.
I‘m irritated by how high the Packers are rated. We basically have no capable receivers on our roster. Think we’ll make the playoffs and win one game at most. Can’t see us doing more.
I think last season does have relevance but not just how it went, but how a team progressed.
As for the Bills, I guess I’m talking now, as an “as at” point. Right now I think the Bills look ahead of everyone else.
I’m definitely not on a “they’ll win it without a doubt” hype train but I do think they’ll be the team to beat based on a number of factors.
It’ll be interesting to see how they progress.
I also feel Packs seem quite high on the power rankings. But still got the MVP, so be interesting to see how it goes.
From what I've heard, peeps think the Packers defense is going to be very good this year. Rodgers can make it work with whatever receivers he has, I believe he's that good.
The d really looks great. But I’m extremely skeptic about our offensive prospects. And we’ve done horrible in the playoffs the last few years. Just don’t see us getting close to the super bowl.
I’m surprised with Kyler more or less setting the floor for this contract (and maybe Deshaun the ceiling) they couldn’t get this done. With more and more money rolling in the salary cap and QB contracts aren’t going to decrease…

I wouldn't be at all surprised if they missed them to be honest. The new offence is gonna take some time to implement and get up to speed I think, especially when they lost a very specific role player in Tim Patrick and don't appear to have anybody on the roster who can be a power slot in direct replacement.
I could see them going 4-4 before their bye week; 10 wins is probably the benchmark for teams targeting a wildcard spot in the AFC and that puts a lot of pressure on them the 2nd half of their season when they'll still have reverse games against the Chargers and Raiders, the Chiefs twice and trips to Baltimore and LA (Rams).
Both sides have been really quiet and we haven't had any real leaks indicating either what's being asked for or offered. I think the assumption is or at least was that Lamar's asking for the Deshaun fully-guaranteed deal, but surely that seems highly unlikely in the wake of Kyler and Mr Unlimited's new deals.
I'd say somewhere between both of those contracts is reasonable enough, it's a bit more than I'd want to pay for a QB who still has question marks over some areas of his game as a pure thrower, but ultimately he's far too good for them to let him go I think, even if they end up trading him on the tag for multiple 1st round picks.
It's interesting that more QBs seem willing to push the envelope nowadays and bet on themselves though. I was listening to an episode of The Athletic Football Podcast (it might actually have been about Lamar's extension talks) and they noted that as a top QB it's pretty hard to mess up your market and they used Dak as an example, having broke his leg playing on the franchise tag and still ending up getting the deal he wanted all along.
I understand this sentiment and I am myself surprised that the Packers haven't done better in the postseason over the last couple of years. But I think this year could be different and I'm positive about their prospects, even though you do raise legit concerns.i think they'll figure it out.
It’s an interesting topic. As a % of cap, QB contracts can be huge, so I wonder how many, if any, think about what it means for their overall success if they take home such huge packages. It’s tough balancing that and getting the financial reward you think you deserve and shows the market your value.

Well Mahomes was supposed to have taken a team friendly deal and the Chiefs still couldn't keep Tyreek Hill so one wonders. I reckon just take what you're worth and let the GM and front office worry about the cost of building the team around you. I mean, that's what everybody does apart from Brady and his situation in New England was unique in so many ways. Also, for all the money he's supposed to have left on the table, Belichick never got him any explosive expensive weapons in the last 10 years, did he? They built good defenses but offensively, Brady just made it work with what he had. And that's not to denigrate the likes of Edelman and Gronk (who are both great) but Brady never had a Moss type electric speedster to work with really since Moss himself.
We've seen a pattern emerging. When a guy's on his rookie deal you can stack the deck. After he gets paid, it becomes significantly more difficult to build a strong team. So there's a small window to get to and win the SB. If you miss it, it's tough from then on.....
Stafford looked like shite. AFC should be interesting this season. All the top QBs there except for the dinos.
