Seems a right moaner with a attitude problem though
He has spirit and wants to win, and he’s a literal kid. Could do with some of that in our team. He looks like a born winner destined for great things, injury permitting.

He’s 18 so he probably needs to get more control over emotions but all you ever hear on here is people complaining that our players don’t have any guts or leadership qualities.

Complaining about refs = / = leadership qualities?

I do agree — he’s extremely young still. And massively talented, obviously. Hopefully he’ll grow out of this phase of whinging.

Am I the only one who thinks he is over rated?
Obviously has time to grow as a player but so far i get the impression of a jack of all trades master of none type of thing.
He doesn't really excel at anything that much and I don't find him to be the metronome passer either.

I do too.

Not necessarily overrated - but more that I don't necessarily care about who or where he moves to.

He is exceptionally young though so maybe more fitting to a proper style/ability closer to his prime.

Yeah pretty much as izec said , he probably has the potential, I just don't care if he comes here or not , or whether he goes to our rivals.

His biggest strength at the moment is his ball carrying/dribbling through the center. He does a lot to add urgency to attacks and it's probably no coincidence that he's Bundesliga's most fouled player, he wins a good amount of decent free kick opportunities, because Defenders panic a bit when he's about to break their lines. He's also proven to be talented at every aspect of the game. I can't think of a natural weakness in his skill set and he seems to have a very competitive mindset. So considering he's 18 and one would assume still has tons of natural progression ahead of him it seems quite short sighted to file him under "don't really see it, don't care".

Thanks for the insight as you clearly watch him a lot more regularly than I do , it's I just don't get that spark watching him the way I did with the last greats and so far in the big games, he didn't really seem to impact things much.
Perhaps I'm asking too much from an 18 year old player, and as you say he definitely seems to be very skilled in most aspects of the game and has a nice physique to go with it.

I can see us making a big play for him in the summer of 2023. Although I imagine City and Liverpool will be keen, along with various clubs on the continent. Very premature I know, but I think that Kobbie Mainoo can be potentially just as good, if not better.

Just from yesterday's match:

It's not the best angle, but on the second replay you can see he dribbled from the byline into the box, past Pavard, and probably would have won a penalty if it wasn't for some isolated and totally random VAR mistake. In the previous game against Bayern he was used as LM and contributed two assists, one of them a pretty nice pass.

edit: here's a "all touches" video from the first game against Bayern:

Technically he was played out of position, yet it didn't really affect him, he could have done better with his long shot and header, but you see him do well in all areas of the pitch, at a few different things and he assisted two goals and won two free kicks around the box.

Apparently we have a chance of signing him. *sign*
Sensational player, watching him against City every touch is just right. Very composed I think in a few years he will be world class. The kind of player you throw the kitchen sink at.

RB and GK can wait if a player like Jude is on the market.

If we do go for him, missing out on FDJ may become a blessing in disguise.

Says who? I don't believe for a second he will come here.
Saw something online earlier suggesting we are a potential destination.

I don’t see how Liverpool will be able to pay the price he’s going to cost. Will be another player close to 100m.

It’ll either be City or Utd I reckon.

Nah, I think he will end up at Liverpool. They are screaming for a new midfield and are generally a more attractive option. Them, or Real Madrid. City's midfield is too crowded and we represent too much of a risk.

Yes they desperately need him but the mistake Liverpool have made is not going for him this summer instead of buying Nunez.

Liverpool don’t enter or win bidding wars which it will be next season for Bellingham. I just don’t see Liverpool coughing up 100m+ when they barely got a crocked player in on loan for midfield where they are desperate for additions.

We're not dropping £100m on Bellingham after buying a top class striker which will be our absolute priority next summer, a striker who will probably also cost up to £100m. No chance at all.

Not if they don't renew Gundogan's contract and Silva leaves.

Going to be a three-way fight between City, Liverpool and Real Madrid. City and Real Madrid can easily outspend Liverpool but Liverpool fans have been acting like it is a done deal for months now* so please let it not be them.

This summer, Liverpool would have been a more attractive option. But a lot can happen in a year! (Plus Utd would Smash them when it comes to wages)

We aren’t buying a top class striker for £100m next summer.

You’re also forgetting we were ready to drop 85m euro on FDJ which we didn’t in the end. Centre midfield is still a major priority.

I agree, I don't see Liverpool as a certainty. He's going as a 20 year old (19 now) and he would have what? the majority of their players are in their 30s.

The rest are youngsters but far off it.

At United there's Sancho, both British both played at Dortmund, similar age bracket and lots of youngsters maybe not so much now but Rashford also he will know from the national team. There's a young squad for him to get on with but also experience at the club with the likes of Eriksen to learn from, Casemiro, Bruno.

At City he has Haaland a former teammate, but also the likes of Foden who he knows at the national team and a similar age.

I think Bellingham will be at a Manchester club next summer. Just not sure if it'll be City or United. They can both afford him.

One thing is I think Pep is leaving at the end of this season.

Yeah your right. We would never buy a midfielder and an attacker In the same window for over 150-160m.

If we don’t get CL this year we won’t be able to I’d have thought (plus he wouldn’t come anyway)

Which striker would cost 100m ? I'm not arguing we would drop that on a striker, I just can't think of one .

Sure, if Bilva and Gundogan leave, then City might also go in for him. My point was that I don't believe we are in contention at all for his signature and I hope we don't get drawn into a bidding war we can't win and waste time again. I'm sure there are others out there.

I will pretend I didn't see those screenshots.

That’s why I replied to him we aren’t dropping 100m on a striker. Simply because there isn’t anyone worth that much available out there.
