Great first half performance, are we starting to see the real ETH ball.

Martinez has to be my favourite player in a long time. Absolute class. Want to see more from Antony but what he does he does really well. Same with Sancho. I really think getting more from them is crucial. Rashford is so wasteful

Our need for a CM and a CF is completely unreal. At the same time we play so much better without Ronaldo.

We are playing very well and it's fun to watch. Just going through a spell when the goals won't come....it will happen soon!

We are better than Spurs and this should give us confidence moving forward and fighting for top 4.

Hard to play better without scoring goals, so very impressed so far. Noone in particular stands out, just overall a very good team performance. Hopefully we can keep it up in the second half.

Story of Uniteds season that 1st half. So frustrating. Spurs have done next to nothing and took them 45 minutes to force Degea into a save will likely head back to London with at least a point.

Really good spells in that half. Saw the best of Bruno, the quick one touch passing and moving and the worst of Bruno attempting ridiculous things that don't come off.

Missed most of the first half... could Eriksen do something that Fred can't? Or has Fred been good?
Fred has been very good. Unless we go behind, I'd be bringing Eriksen on for Bruno rather than Fred.

Best half in ages. If only we had a #9 we would lead with 2 or 3.

    Spurs are shocking tbf

Fred’s been excellent. And Rashford missed a chance half of the caf would score. In other news its raining in seattle and water is wet.

Yes. Too many low percentage shots
The thing is, this issue can be fixed with one simple team talk.

"Lads, let's stop shooting from 25 yards every 10 seconds ok? Maybe try create a chance instead."

It's the same every fecking game. The managers indulges the players in their greed.

Fred can't shoot to save his life and thinks he has the right to shoot on his weak foot from distance every game.

Feels like one of those games where you regret the chances you miss, because we have dominated them for 0 goals.

Brilliant first half...not surprised we haven't scored though.

Bruno has lost all ability to score, Sancho is currently useless, Rashford can't be relied on and Antony is probably our most likely source though Spurs having 9 at the back makes that impossible.

But we've been great out of the box and had them pegged back comfortably.
Someone had to give it a good jinx. Bruno and Rashford goals incoming then.

I know it looks slow but Sancho and Antony are why we can pen them back in their box. Keeping the ball under pressure and recycling it is exactly how we should be playing.
Agreed, switch anyone of the front 3 for Ronaldo and I think we see a completely different half of football with more turnovers and a lot less pressure on their defence. It can be frustrating at times, more so from Sancho today but go too direct and try to take on the man every time and we can't sustain pressure.

Great game from pretty much the entire team except the front 3. Fred seems like a totally different player today compared to the previous game. Casemiro is dominating the midfield, Dalot and Shaw are good as well, but a lot of uninspired plays by attackers (I think most dangerous shots but one were made by midfielders/fullbacks).

You can see why this midfield is good for Brazil now, they look great together, Bruno's been good as well.

Very good first half. Lloris was unfortunately in beast mode.

Only negative was us crossing the ball too many times. Useless really since there's nobody in the box, at least no one who can score a header.

Casemiro for me is a stand out, very very silky

I'd give Ronaldo 25 mins if it's still the same. We need to take this play into the second half with the same 11.

We also need to let Ronaldo find the ball instead of constantly trying to pass to him first. He's very good at picking up loose balls and turning them into goals plus it's so predictable for the defenders if we keep passing to him first.

Fred, Casemiro and Martinez outstanding. Antony has been excellent as well.

Sancho non-existent, Rashford again unable to finish. Bruno is hit and miss, I'd put Eriksen in for him.

We have to keep up this intensity in the second half. Had everything but a goal, superb half of football. You can see what ETH is doing here. This will be some team with Martial back fully fit, and able to move Rashford out to the left in place of Sancho. His directness is a major bonus there. Antony is a revelation. Midfield has been superb, especially Casemiro. Full backs have been terrific, Varane very calm and assured and Martinez is just fecking superb, as always. Bruno has been energetic and pushed the team forward but he’s such a low percentage player with the passes he tries, you do feel the team pattern would be even better with Eriksen in his role.

But no complaints for the performance. They’ve played brilliantly. Spurs are dangerous though and they could easily sucker punch us.
