A dark day for our beloved Manchester United football club. A **** figure and a player with a rich history with us who is contractually obligated dragging the manager, our club our legends into the mud infront of the whole world.

Why do you post here, considering you don't like the forum, the moderating and from reading your posts, you don't like too many of the posters either?
You seem to have thinner skin than Ronaldo  .

My point was solely to do with the fact people in this thread and the United forum will be pissed off at Ronaldo and rightfully so.

Coming in and trying to apply some balance was never going to work.

Horrible interview.

Always worth noting he's not a native speaker - and you can tell he struggled at times with his english here - I suspect some things won't come across the way he intended, and I have a feeling the Rooney rat thing will be one of those since I've seen quotes about his kid playing at Rooney's house. It's his damage for even doing this though.

It's just a weird bit of the interview to get hung up on.

The most important question is what the heck is he doing giving this interview, what he's suggesting about the lack of respect for Ten Hag, and what he thinks is going to happen now, bearing in mind seemingly there wasn't interest in the summer. Why would there be half way through the season, now teams know what happens if he doesn't play every game?
It's not really though. At best, he heavily implied Rooney is a rat, after heavily implying Rooney is ugly and jealous yesterday. That's a weird-ass thing to say publically about your former teammate, especially whilst employed by the club where Rooney is top scorer and a legend.

I believe Ronaldo is a narcissist who hasn't really considered that his interview won't be well received by the Old Trafford faithful. He probably believes that there will be interest in him from other top clubs, because he has an inability to accept criticism, and he looks at himself as the best, and he can't conceive that there genuinely isn't interest in signing him. Hence, burning bridges with the club will have no negative impact on him in his mind.

With that said, who the feck knows. Maybe it will work out for him, maybe it will backfire spectacularly. Time will tell.

Why are people trying to flip everything he is saying like it's ok and he actually meant something else, it's actually bonkers to read.

of all the shite he has said, it's weird to literally now be pretending to pretend he didn't mean to call Rooney a rat and he holds him in higher regard, after already displaying clear dislike for him already. The mental gymnastics
He’s not putting Rooney in that group. It’s too late and I’m done trying to explain..

I thought he was saying "lads" and it sounded as rats because of the accent.
He said rats. Calling your former teammate a rat in front of millions. If there are people here still defending him or his words they really ought to be banned.

After already criticising his looks and career, it's not that much of a jump to conclude he meant what he said exactly how most of us have interpreted it except for the usual suspects of course.

fecking hell lad, it's not that bad. Losing 4-0 to Brentford or the annual spanking by City are much worse than this, and I wouldn't even call those "dark days".

A part of me wants him to have one more game, Burnley in the cup, just so the crowd can chant Rooney's name at him for 90 minutes.

Someone here had even suggested that they ought to make Ronaldo a DOF of united earlier.
Wonder what he thinks of that suggestion now
Probably thinks it’s an even better idea. There’s no point in arguing with them.

I was being half serious regarding the manager. If we’re really going to forgive Ronaldo and reincorporate him into the squad for the rest of the year, there’s no point in ETH hanging around. We don’t want to lose him (I hope!) so a sabbatical seems the only way.

I wonder which team in the world is going to touch him after this. He is finished at the top level and this narcissistic behaviour will even scare off 2nd tier team. No top team will need him anyway

Agree with you. We all knew it from that insane physique he has. That's not just being super fit, that's disco muscles for vanity. Maybe he'll become a body builder when he retires, that could work!!

We can enjoy the world cup and watch with interest what happens. I just hope the club have some ideas about a striker coming in, as we'd be one injury to wafer thin Martial away from real difficulties.

Old Trafford needs a Rooney song based on his new rat identity and also the fact that he is an actual club legend.

That's bonkers mate. He'd have to have done a lot to better Ronaldo's first spell here.
There is no way to prove that I know but I really believe Ronaldinho’s 5 peak years would have seen us win the whole lot. We would have beaten Porto easily and win the CL in 2004 not to mention he would have torched the defences and obliterated the league on his own.

What makes you think that I have thin skin?
You quoted me and started the interaction, calling the site moderaton pathetic. I can't say I really noticed you so had a quick scan. There is one admin note on your profile saying you are quite childish and lots of your posts are hostile to the boards, so I just ask why post here?

Depends on how low he will go with his salary. There are always Italian clubs looking for cheap deals.

Anyway, who else thinks Rooney is a rat?

It's just Ronaldo

Blame Kenyon. Ronaldinho became the best player in the world not soon after. But heh, we got two great seasons out of CR37 and...well....provided Real with a great player. We're so nice.

Football doesn't work that way mate.

Take Shearer v Solskjaer. The former a much better player, but if we'd signed him instead, do we win the treble in 99? Most likely not, as he'd start over one of Cole or Yorke, and it changes the whole dynamic.

Editing my own posts.
Aside from anything else, the whole “I had offers but I didn’t leave because I was happy and motivated to have a good season” is just a hilarious outright lie… He very clearly briefed that he wanted out. And he could’ve easily quashed those rumours if he wanted… he even replied to a post to say he wasn’t going to Sporting.

Its just quite sad

Still need to sack him/sell him in the next few weeks based on the basic principle of if you talk shit about the people who pay you regardless of whether you’re a high level footballer or some office worker in a widely public domain, you get let go.

Doesnt matter if you say you like the colleagues you work with and you’re completely right about the owners are terrible, pensions benefits suck etc, you’re still heading out that door carrying a box of your belongings.

He wants out. No one wants him, And he is making sure that the situation is so bad that club will just throw him out (while compensating with his last big paycheck) a.k.a "Jose playbook"
