Interesting that Poland is playing a 4141. They have to because they can't really match France player vs player. They have to play a different tactic to confuse the opponent.
France's 4231 is useful if they are always attacking. For defending, 4231 isn't very useful on the sides because the 2 centrebacks will be clustered closely with 2 central midfielders on the front of them so not much movement allowed for CBs to move forward while the flanks are exposed.

Both crosses were good and weren't cleared by the defense before it reached the center of the box, so I'd say it wasn't a bad strategy. We just didn't have a player in the right area.
Is it just me or how come the attendance in this particular last 16 knockout match is so poor? I noticed quite a few group stage games had a massive amount of empty seats. But I wasn't expecting as much empty chairs in the knockout stages, that's SAD.

Yeah big problem for them. They can sit back but can't break quickly. Lewa is a great player but not fast, nor a great dribbler that I can't see how he does much unless Poland can sustatain pressure (won't happen) or from set pieces.
Dembele is a much better dribbler than Mbappe
