Still ridiculous. I'll give you this though, Southgate England have always beaten teams that they were supposed to beat, so a victory against Senegal is very likely but at the same time Senegal have PL players that can also hurt England, so it's never as secured as people often think.
But that’s not the point. In the group stage people were talking about how second round games would go without a team having qualified. It happened yesterday during the first game too.

This making out that it’s “English arrogance” is pure nonsense.

Distance makes no difference if you leave your arm open like you're doing the YMCA.
:lol:Wasn't YMCA, just sticking out a bit. When turning your bodyit's hard to keep your arms trapped to your sides, given the need to balance.

I think it was soft, but we clearly disagree.

Every nation in the world are looking ahead.

Because we're English though we can't have any confidence apparently.

It's fine for Brazil or France to claim they're gonna win it all though

The sheer arrogance is ridiculous. You don't see people already planning tactics for teams like France, Brazil(actual favorites) for their final yet some people are just giving England gimmies.
I'm sure some fans of the Netherlands, Argentina, Brazil, France, Spain, and Portugal were/are looking at what their potential QF opponent would be.

England fans get shit for the same thing everybody else does.

I hope Senegal wins out of self-interest. But since I like England I won't be that disappointed if England wins.

Mbappe is a better player than Henry was at the same age, and is not even close... and i think he is gonna be even better once he moves to a better league.

soft - sure. It's what they call an unnatural position now. You have to keep your arms down low (or some put it behind their backs)

If you leave your arm stretched out like that even by accident it's a penalty pretty much 99% of the time now. Surely you've seen plenty of examples like that?

I think they need to change the penalty rule so that the GK can move off of the line once the taker starts his run up those stop start pens are just looking for a GK to be off the line.

I have England going through. Not gonna be easy but you just have more killers in your team. If Gueye and Mane were available, I'd go for Senegal
I know Sterling has that daft gun tattoo but he isn't a real gangster you know

I have of course, but the distance between the players when it's called or waved away is inconsistent.

I'd be pissed if it was given against United. I actually wanted France to lose as well.

It was just a scenario example tbh, same as people desperate pre tournament to see Brazil-Argentina as SF and that's not far off happening now.

I expect England to win tonight but it's no walkover although this is sort of game where Senegal will miss Mane's quality in final third. Similar to Denmark playing England without Eriksen in the euros.
Well I'd say there is a difference between people desperately wanting to see Brazil vs Argentina and simply expecting it like loads of folks are expecting England vs France and for them to dispose of Senegal with ease.

To be fair Southgate England have always managed to beat teams they were supposed to beat so a victory against Senegal is very likely, though Senegal still have players that can also trouble England if they're not careful. Southgate England's issues have always been their inability to beat other top tier teams, and I'm not just talking about top tier in name only and not quite up to their usual top standards like Germany who they beat in the Euro, I'm talking about other top tier countries at the top of their games like France currently.

Would be interesting to see how they fare against this France.

That's fair I guess.
