Mbappe vs Walker tbh. Walker isn't going to be allowed to cross the halfway line.
I wonder about putting Rice on him full tine. Follow him everywhere... that way a defender doesn't get drawn out of position, this leaving space for others...

Leave the most dangerous player alone with tons of space initially then give him more time to have a shot at the goal at his own convenience.

Maybe Szczęsny could have done a little better on that one.

Mbappe has been underwhelming but has a goal.

Poland I'm disappointed with.

Would have preferred England play Poland, hopefully a poor France shows up (if England get past Senegal)
Genuinely what's this obsession with wanting England to play sub par teams in knock outs all the time? England had a good run in last two tournaments but it's time Southgate was presented with A list challenges from QF stage.

I'm really really looking forward to England-France if it happens as for a start I don't think back to front France are quite on the level they were in 2018. However as Mbappe has just shown they don't have to be completely dominate to score goals so that will be the acid test, would England stick with 4-2-3-1 or switch to 5 at the back.

Mbappe’s goal record is ridiculous

People talking about mbappe v England but England still gotta beat Senegal
frankly, if we don't do that a lot of players should be playing their last game and Southgate will have to go (part of me thinks he might quit whatever happens in the next couple of weeks)

Football needs Mbappe vs Haaland at the Manchester Derby. Earth will start healing then

Maybe Poland can do what USA and Australia did and get a goal to make the end nervy?

Rice is too flat footed imo to keep up with Mbappe. It would be a bit like Ozil v Gareth Barry in 2010. Plus that would give more space for Greizmann to pick up ball and thread passes through to the forwards.

More I think about it think England will just play a back 5 and try to get to extra time and see what happens then.

Seriously?
Of course. It’s really hard to play your way into a side from basically a dead rubber 3rd group game (never losing 4-0)
It’s why so many top sides didn’t win their third game after qualifying, it’s just about staying fit when called upon. Rashford just played so well

Oh I agree, but I reckon there will be one shock in this round of knockouts

MBappé gave all the indications he could that he would aim at the far post as most player will do that, then closed his foot. It's one of his signature move. Even keepers like Neuer or Courtois got caught.

Reminds me of a France goal against England in some Euros game. I think it was Nasri beating his friend Joe Hart... It is smart to aim for the nearer post when you do it with accuracy, but the keeper (Hart then and Tek here) is still expected to do much better.

Senegal is such a hard game, Afcon champions.

They'll run England into the ground too and they're better adjusted to the climate like this, I think England will be given a real game today.

Or his assist for the first...
Haters. He's been by far the most dangerous player for France.

He's already close to being France's best international player of all time, at the age of 23. He's behind only Platini and Zidane right now.

Really can’t see how France won’t make it to the final. Mbappé in full form is a worry for every team.

Hopefully he will want to go out on a high.

Do people realize how hard it is for a keeper to save a shot when the shooter has that much space? He has to pick a side and Mbappé is very good at making it look he'll aim for the far post. It's almost like a PK, you just bet you're going in the right direction and if the player puts the ball on the other side, there's not much you can do since you're off balance.
