I have tried a variety of dishes. South American, Mexican, American, British, European and Asian. Everyone will say the same thing “British food is terrible and bland”.It’s hard to disagree with that for the most part. Best food I had was in Japan and sadly nothing has ever quite reached that level of flavour.
I can’t say anything other than that’s a complete myth and I say that as someone who loves food from all over the place. How is a shepherds pie with gravy bland? Or bangers and mash. Basically anything with potato.

Not a soft spot, but I don't get the hate. He was never with his heart in it but hating him for leaving us a year after he came is a bit over the top. It's not like he did a Tevez or Heinze who wanted to go to Liverpool
He may have enjoyed it if LVG wasn't the manager. He never wanted to come here though. I still appreciate how great his talent is, but I don't recall much of his time here to be overly bothered by him.

“maybe if he wasn’t built like a 12 year old girl he wouldn’t need to move country every time someone rattles on the window”.

Still my favourite post about Di Maria’s time here. I can’t remember who posted it, but bravo.

How often do these feckers eat at restaurants?

Just make whatever you want yourself or hire a chef.

On a list of things that matter to me about location of my home, the number of Bernie Inns in the vicinity is somewhere near the bottom.

It’s all a bit odd. My work colleague (a Swede) was in Cornwall this Summer and he commented about the food being a bit rubbish.
I asked him how the food is at 4 out of the 5 restaurants near our work, as we all know they are utter shite tourist traps on Djurgården.

The moral of this story, don’t expect to walk into any random restaurant and get good food, and if you’re rich and can’t find great food in any city, you’re an absolute moron.

I’ve lived in half a dozen countries and had terrible food served in every single one, same with every holiday I’ve been on.
Do a bit of research and you’ll eat some amazing food.

Didn't they live in Dortmund for a decade before moving to Manchester? Is Dortmund some kind of boujee food mecca or something?

Problem with wags is that they really don't do anything other than eat at fancy places and spread gossip to stave off boredom (Wagatha comes to mind).

This is a massive generalisation and I’m wondering if you have any actual evidence to back this up

Someone has never had a good Shepherds Pie or Bangers and Mash.
The blandness is completely relative, food from the continent(and loads of other places) is just much more flavoursome and enjoyable to eat, on the whole. Those things may not be completely bland when cooked extremely well(and probably with alterations to how they were traditionally served), but that doesn't really mean they are comparable to something like Italian food.

Ireland has basically the same food as England(thanks, colonialism), and I have zero issue in saying that our food is bland and shite, for the most part. It doesn't mean I can't have an amazing Irish steak with nice chips and pepper sauce, or in your case some gourmet bangers and mash, but in reality, there is really no argument. Half of what you experience when eating the things you've mentioned is an emotional response to meals you've eaten throughout your life, something a foreigner will not get when they eat it.

Well the Wagatha trial for one, then there's the massive amount of wags who don't have any jobs? Or are you suggesting most wags have busy lives other than to live off their famous footballer spouse?

So there’s Rebekah Vardy as your entire evidence. Very significant levels that.

I don’t know what most do, but I’m not going to disparage them because of my ignorance. Unlike yourself, obviously.

Common, you're just being obtuse, most are "content creators" on Instagram or bloggers.

Colleen Rooney has been a career wag, occasionally writing stuff off the back of being a wag, Rebekah Vardy makes shit up for a living.

Donny Van De Beeks wife is a content creator, Harry Maguires other half is a blogger, to be honest I really couldn't be bothered to look at much more.

Maybe one day I'll investigate a little more for you, I'm sure everything you post has been extensively researched by the way, I look forward to reading some of your expert analysis.

Am I saying all are career wags? Nope, but the ones that complain about trivial shit usually are.

I don't know what's funnier to me. The brutal comments from these spoiled football wives or the people losing their shit over said comments

I have only been 3 days in Manchester as a poor student around 10 years ago, so I can't really talk about the mid range and high end restaurants. But I will say that every meal I ate was shockingly bad and beyond bland. The best meal on the trip was actually a full English breakfast at a shabby diner near Salford. It's hard to feck up that dish, though.

Even in those you name, Coleen Rooney does masses of charity work and has done since she got a minor profile while Wayne was at Everton. This isn’t a secret, you just ignore it to attack these women.

You clearly just want to attack them for who they’re in a relationship with, which is more than a little bit sad.

Attack these women? Geez I extend most of what I said to people who have unearned wealth, or a sense of self worth that puts them above others, that goes for men and women if the point of your replies to me was to wriggle in sexism.

No I just don't like people who look down on places because they don't like the fancy food they have to offer, it's snobbish and I don't like snobbery, maybe that's why my post piqued your interest? Bit of a boomer who got easy money that doesn't like being affronted.

Anyway, I can't afford to be hit with more points so I suggest we stop derailing the thread.

I don't see any problem eating in England when I visit. You can choose food from all over the world in pretty much every big city. So I don't get the pointless criticism of food. In Manchester, you got some really nice restaurants aswell.

And if they don't like anything how about they learn to cook themselfs?

 I’m younger than you going off your profile.

You attacked specifically women as being vacuous with literally nothing to support your assertion, so I challenged it. Maybe don’t make stupid comments if you don’t want them calling out?

I do feel old to be fair.

I didn't attack specifically womenin general did I? I attacked wags? Maybe I should have said wags generally have nothing to do, but then that would be like starting every post you wrote with "in my opinion" which doesn't really make sense on an opinion based discussion board.

How much evidence do I need to form an opinion? Do I come to you to qualify my opinion before I post? In that case I'd rather post my generalising opinions rather than seek validation from a random poster who enjoys twisting words.

I wonder how many players come to United just for the money these days. OK, they are professional footballers and who wouldn’t take a job that paid well. In normal life though, family play a big part in employment, well they did for me. I turned down several better paid jobs (mostly down South) because of kids and close family. You can‘t buy a settled family life. Mrs. DiMaria obviously never met Colleen who you could never describe as Porcelain.

In terms of food, I guess a major plus point for the UK / the largest UK cities, is the wide range and quality of internal cuisines available. I live in Leeds, and am in very close proximity to Italian, Indian, French, Chinese, Thai, Vietnamese, Japanese, Greek, Spanish, Mexican, Portuguese, Turkish, Lebanese, Persian, Polish, Jamaican, Brazilian, Cuban etc. restaurants.

We'll all have different views on which cuisines we think have amazing flavours, and which ones we find land. I recently went to Italy for the first time since I was a kid. When I was kid I thought that Italian food was great. However since then I branched out, tried and started to love food from Mexico, Thailand, Vietnam, Turkey, Iran etc., and in comparison I thought that Italian food was quite bland (a lot of dishes use very few ingredients and have not been modified or adapted for generations), boring and fairly limited. My favourite meal was in an Indian restaurant, when I was relieved to have more flavour.

"The food was disgusting"
The food: Instant noodle without seasoning

"The women look like porcelain"
The women: She put a porcelain doll in front of the bowl of noddle on purpose

"He only joined United for money"
Him: Sent flying by Ashley Young, the weakest United player on the pitch
Great success.

It's all quite subjective i suppose like most things in life.

Still the whole discussion seems rather silly, while the base quality of the ingredients might be (and probably is) better in say South America or Spain or whatever than Britain i doubt the gap is large enough to warrant such piddling discussions, i doubt literal millionaires are in any shortage of adequate food.

Having a horrible time in Turin I hope. A north western industrial city with a humid climate that has been cooler than Mancheter these last few years  Rat faced twat
Is it really that bad? I've been there for a day or two and thought it was nice enough, maybe my standards are just shit.

His press conferences are gold
He's brilliant value. Sad that he was so much more entertaining than the football his United side played (which is still the most boring I have seen from any United team I can remember). If England can't get past France, I think I'd be quite happy to see the Dutch go all the way - it would be a great swansong for Van Gaal, the absolute loon.
