I don't blame Harry. This game should have been won by England without the penalties.

England has better players, played better today and should have won.

My mum is saying this and I can't agree... Kane has to take it, he's generally a penalty monster, and if someone else misses you would wonder why Kane didn't take it.
He has to take it sure but what happened was so uncharacteristic for him. His mind was scrambled, it was against his club teammate. Only he will know.

I wonder if that ball he blootered over the crossbar from 12 yards out has reached orbit yet?

What game was he good? Did you watch the matches at all? Jesus
I did and you could literally have Wilson on instead of him an you'd still win all those matches. The difference in quality was clear as day when you played against those teams.

He's a really good player and has an excellent international goal record complete with big tournament goals. But Rooney and Owen and Shearer are better.

Which game was he good? Did you need him against Iran, USA or Wales?
vs Senegal?

He did nothing special this tourney.
He was great against France. Utterly tormented Upamacano - if the ref actually did his job, there would be no upamecano on the pitch.

Dig up stupid!
Played really well today, possibly our best player along with saka

You cannot miss penalties like that in games like this though . It cost us the tie - it's harsh but it's true unfortunately

He is actually on the same non-relevant level as the above. Shearer, Owen, Rooney, Kane are synonymous with losing on the international stage. Bottlejobs, the lot of them.

We're gonna overanalyse a penalty aren't we... He's been legendary at them, but he's still missed 3 for England prior to this one. But you ain't taking it out of his hand. No chance, unless well, you're Shearer. (Or Wayne Rooney, who's actually 100% for England! 8 for 8, but who's trusting him really?)

I don't think he cared that it was his teammate, he just missed one, in a similar manner to how he's missed them before - I mean it's legit identical to his Frankfurt miss 2 months ago.

I'd still also take him for £100m fyi. Despite clear reservations.

This guy has scored 300+ goals in his career for no reason.
If city had him last season, they would have probably lost the league to Liverpool too.

Just a shame Jordan Henderson wasn't on the pitch to take charge and rip the ball out of his hands.

Go look at Rooney's strike partners and forwards. Kane would have been just as bad.

For me it's not even about the penalty miss. He was a passenger. Another disappearing act in a big game.

Plays sensational against teams we are expected to beat. The big boys... Not so much.

He would be so good for us, even if counteless injuries and age slowed him down, he's still an excellent no9, with great hold up play and playmaking abilities, along with all set of tools how to finish the ball. He bottled his career by signing stupid contracts.

If Levy wants to cash in - I think 80 mil could still be good for both parties. He would never get more money for a 30yo, might reinvest it.. while we could still use him for 3 seasons. I doubt his decline would be as quick as Rooneys or RVPs, he's a different mentality and player profile who doesnt rely on speed.

He was really good tonight though vs the best team in the world. Had Upamecano on strings.

No. Upamecano couldn't deal with him at all. Somehow, he didn't get a single freekick from copious amounts of fouls.

He had a great game today. Caused their defence a lot of issues. The problem with England is that they don't play anyone in the attacking midfield role, which creates a gap between the midfield and attack.

That's not true, he was really good today.

The miss brings his performances down a bit but he was pivotal to why England had so many chances against one of the best defenses of the world.

Should’ve hit the penalty in the middle. Lloris doesn’t wait.

He had a good game (and tournament). It’s a shame his biggest chance at a WC (possible England’s too) ends like this. But it’s a game of fine margins.

How can anyone watch that and say he was a passenger ffs
Played well the first 20 minutes. Didn't do much else the rest of the game, similar to Bellingham. We'll win a world cup once we realise that running around a lot and showing passion doesn't necessarily equate to a good performance. Saka was head and shoulders our biggest threat, I expected more from Kane, considering he's the best player in our team, his link up play wasn't that good and he didn't attack balls in the box and chose to drop deep even though that wasn't working for him. Especially in the second half.
Like I said I'm disappointed with the penalty miss but I wouldn't want anyone other than Kane taking that anyway, I'm more disappointed in his overall performance, especially in the second half, he was invisible.

Rooney was abysmal at World cups.

In fact Kane scored as many at World cups tonight as Rooney did in 3 World cups.
And still is going to win F-all for England or Tottenham. Rooney has more trophies and was a better player. Kane cannot lace Rooney’s boots.
